Mike and I became friends since the Gold's Gym days. So when I bought a house I went to him for…read moremy window repairs and replacement. At first the price was nominal, but as the years progressed they grew to above market rate. The service was sometimes ok, but sometimes not so good. He continually changed workers and the quality showed for at times they would break the glass they were replacing!! One particular time he brought with him this young kid (who looked like he just got out of rehab) who CRACKED a window frame in 2 places while replacing a coil. No apologies, no discount on the charges, no removal of the charge. Mike simply came back with some Gorilla glue! I should of learned my lesson then. Last Spring he came to replace a glass and, again, broke the replacement glass. Keep in mind I have to fight with another window company to get the glass. He kept me with this broken glass for almost a year. He gave me a bill which I questioned for I thought he charged me to replace the glass he broke. So when I asked for a lower bill that's when Mike went off on me. I received multiple calls and texts stating how dare I ask for a lower bill. So, ok, I sent him a check for the $150. Not even a week went by when he harassed me over 2 days for the money. I had already sent the check. I shared with him that his behavior was out of line and disrespectful, he again went off on me on how I was wrong and he was right. I asked for a simple apology and he responded: "lol". So my warning is Mike has no respect for "the customer is always right". If you piss him off he will come at you guns blazing.

The windows are working beautifully - we have the "clearer" version with the highest sound reduction in the bedroom, and the "lowest" sound reduction in the living room. Evelyn is a great communicator from start to finish. The windows were installed exactly when promised and professionally. Other reviewers have commented on how efficient the guys work to remove and install the windows and I cannot agree more! They fast, clean, and respectful. They vacuum and take all the garbage away with them. We decided to go with Crystal windows. I cannot speak to the quality compared to Marvin, etc...but for basement windows we didn't need premium. So far, they are working perfectly with no draft or other issues.

To start, American Windows Plus is responsive and speedy when it comes to new clients. They were…read moregreat to work with when I first had my windows installed 2 years ago. It's rare to see a 5 star business receive a low rating review like this, but unfortunately I had an incredibly disappointing experience, which I feel compelled to share with other homeowners to prevent anyone else from falling victim to their unprofessional behavior and lack of accountability. One of our large casement windows was factory damaged and no one noticed till it started to fog up over the past year. I requested a replacement as it was well within the 20 year warranty period. They asked for picture proof and I provided. I had to keep following up for 2 months because they couldn't provide a timeline for installation. When we finally aligned on a date they notified me within 1 hour of the appointment that they can't come because they had a situation. It's okay, things come up but you're suppose to provide a solution with next steps and not keep your clients waiting for an answer. What's truly disappointing is how Ken handled the situation. No one came to supervise the installation so that is a mistake on their part. Instead of acknowledging their workers' errors, they pointed fingers at me, accusing me of tampering with the frame & caulk. Mind you, none of my windows have caulk between the glass and frame. I'm so confused where that came from. I had photographic proof of the window's condition before and after installation, as well as security camera footage of their technicians using boxcutter and hammer to remove the frame (which I assume is what caused the damage). As a homeowner who had placed trust in American Windows Plus expertise, I was shocked by their lack of integrity and commitment to quality workmanship. A company that truly values its customers would have promptly addressed the issue, taken accountability for their errors, and worked towards a solution. Instead, they chose to evade responsibility and, quite frankly, tarnished their own reputation. Now, I have to live with the unsightly scars of their negligence - visible scratches and awkward caulk on the exterior window frame. Despite providing all the evidence necessary to prove their mistakes, Ken continued to deny their wrongdoing and refused to provide any solution or replacement. I share my experience here not only to vent my frustration but also to warn potential customers about the unethical practices of American Windows Plus. I believe it's essential for homeowners to make informed decisions when choosing service providers for their homes. It's clear that they prioritize their own interests over customer satisfaction and quality service.

The problem with my own windows were that they were oversized commercial grade windows which leaked terribly and I was unable to find anyone who could replace these as the order was either too small or that they could not provide the oversized windows I needed. I ended up ordering two windows and a new backyard door and after a few weeks wait to have these customized windows fabricated their crew installed these for me without any problems at all. I was actually quite pleased at how neat and professional they were as they took every measure to make sure everything was set right. This morning as I am writing this the outside temperature is just 12 degrees and my apartment no longer feels drafty! I would wholeheartedly recommend Window King to anyone looking for new windows. The price and quality of these windows is not only superior to other products but actually exceeded my exceptions.
