I'm happy with the windows themselves. The customer service is terrible. If you don't have to deal with the humans who work here, you will be happy. One of the windows they sent me was wrong and it took weeks to get a replacement . . they don't offer apologies for their mistakes. They didn't tell me until I arrived at their Bronx location that the final payment is cash only (even though I paid the deposit with a credit card). Their store isn't unlocked and open for business when they advertise that they are "open." It's just not worth it. Find another place. read more

This review is about service and installation, just got my windows done so after the winter I'll update regarding window quality/ value. I did my patio door with Window Kind, and it remains good quality work, so it was a no brainer to stick with the same company to do my windows. From the sales person, to the office staff communication was always quick. On the day of installation the technician came 1hr late, wish they made a courtesy call because the office was closed and essentially I was stressed because I had to work later in the day hence an early appointment. Windows look great. Caesar installed and repainted my window sill so it honestly looked like any work was down. They cleaned up there mess and I really didn't have to worry about anything after they left. I'll recommend Window King for instalation. read more

*******BUYER BEWARE*******I'm posting this simply as a BUYER BEWARE as our experience with Window King was definitely SHADY. We had been through an exhaustive replacement window search, from the 3-hour meetings to the high-pressure sales tactics. We were referred to the Window King by a reputable website that provides helpful information and window reviews. We thought we had finally found the company to replace our windows...timely and informative meeting, no B.S. sales tactics, good product, and competitive price. We received a contract that evening for our review. We took the weekend to review its details and sent an email response first thing on Monday morning asking for some more details to be included specifically around the windows we were going to buy like the glass package and its NFRC ratings, a general recap of installation (flashing, insulation, etc.) and to include what their lifetime labor warranty actually covers. Also, we had questions like what kind of caulking is used (during our initial meeting the salesman Mike was going to get back to us on that) and why does the contract say capping if necessary which to us seemed like it would mean that it was at the discretion of the installer. These all seemed very reasonable given we were replacing 19 windows. We heard from Mike (salesman) in text the next evening indicating he hadn't forgotten "been crazy". My response was simple "totally understand". Unfortunately, a few more days went by with no response so that Friday I followed up in text only to be informed that Window King couldn't (or wouldn't) make any changes to the contract that I was looking for and they were going to "PASS" on our business. I asked for a discussion with the salesman with no response as well as sent an email that included the owner with no response. The experience left us wondering....if we would have moved forward were we going to get the windows we thought we were buying???? Would there have been shortcuts taken during the installation???? I rarely ever leave reviews unless the experience and quality are totally horrible or extremely good as most of you do. Unfortunately window king is one of those places where the experience has been horrible. Now I want to be upfront and distinguish between the windows and the service\installation. The windows so far seem like they do work well if properly installed (movement and locking the windows) and so far for the first winter (got the windows put in August of 2021). My review was removed from google, trying here. For the service/installation, the selling point of the windows were the UV protection for the summer and the insulation properties for the winter in the sealed sashes. Price wasn't the cheapest but reasonable. Once the windows were being installed or about to be I asked again (first time with the sales rep) if there were any gaps in the windows opening would it be filled in with insulation or something, I was told yes. They did not. Flashing was put in and gaps were left between the windows and opening (on the bottom of the windows, large gaps). The second issues on installation, the windows king installer screwed the windows through the bottom and top window sills (Pic 1). Yes not on the sides where the manufacture put places to screw the window to the house. But through the sealed top and bottom of the window sills (even the manufacture on their instructions stuck on the window explicitly said, do not put any screws through the windows sill). I know what you are thinking, doesn't that void any warranty and sort of go against the stated selling point for the sealed window sills for insulation? Yup. So we will see how the windows and area does this winter. The third issue, nothing was ever done to correct the openings of the windows if not straight. so they just screwed through the sill, I have one windows that I can barley lock and doesn't move up and down normally. The windows always pulls up and you can hear it rub against the sides of the windows sill. The forth issue on installation, the gap at the bottom of the windows were so wide that the caulk placed in there seemed too little. Well I was right, as soon as the caulk started to dry out with a little bit of cold weather, it cracked (Pic 2). I will need to clean it out and replace it on 4 out of the 9 windows I had installed, new windows less than 6 months ago. This is just the installation. Not even the aftermath of the follow up services. When I asked about the screws through the sill, window not locking well and lack of caulk from the installer. They dismissed it away as well, I was told the house isn't level and we did what we needed to do to install the windows. I emailed and called window king and was assured the issues would be addressed and that the owner would review and all that stuff. The follow up was sending the same installer to cover up the screws that were driven through the window sill (I could have done it and offered to do that and done a better job than the crappy attempt to cover the screws) and "took pictures" of the window that wouldn't close to let the office know the issues. Never heard back from anyone. To be fair I also didn't have the time to follow up until now with anyone because of a remodel of the house took all my time. Just being honest. Honestly, I don't know where all the great reviews are coming from since my neighbor did their windows with Window king and they had to come back and do a lot of touchups and a few issues that in my opinion were not fixed (by the way, was the same crew that did my windows. You think this is a pattern?) at the same time I had my windows put in 1 month later. This is the honest truth, take this for what you want. So much for supporting your local shops. I would have rather gone to Home Depot then window king if I had to do this over again and I will with my rest of my windows. read more

We examined several options for replacing our windows for our mother's home in the Bronx (keep in mind, I live on the West Coast and very unsure how this was going to work and get planned so trust was very important to me). After a considerable review of product and installers, I am very happy as is my mother that we went with Window King and the OKNA brand windows. They are located in the Morris Park area of the Bronx. I looked at a number of brands and did a side-by-side comparison with the window metrics - U-Factor, SHGC, VT. And the OKNA brand was very comparable and inched out some other brands. Pricing was very attractive for a very competitive product. Mike, (our sales rep) is a great ambassador for Window King!! Came on time as promised. My mom conferenced me in (in the early morning West Coast time) on the cell and Mike walked my mom through the entire home discussing options, answering ALL my questions (Mike did not seem bothered with my questions), and measuring the windows. After settling on the double hung, Caesar, another solid member of their team returned to get exact measurements and would later be in charge of the removal and installation. Caesar was quick, prompt, efficient, and cleaned up after the install. Lisa is the gatekeeper - the head coach. She is coordinating the ordering, planning, and setting install dates. She runs a tight ship. If she could squeeze you in if an installation gets cancelled, she will do her best to try and accommodate you. She kept me in the loop during the entire process. My mother walked to their office and met Lisa on several occasions to drop/pick up papers and such and I thank her dearly for her kindness to my mother. I thank them very much for the communications by email and phone, having never met any of them! And a special thanks to Mike for answering my questions! I can say unequivocally, that I trust them for their work, honesty, and allaying all of my concerns being so far away. Great product, fair price, and great team! Less than 1 year later the window leaks. Not the fabricated now window the installation. Scheduled a repair 1.5 weeks after I call about the leak. There's bad weather on the repair day. No phone call no notification, they just don't show up. I call the next day and I'm offered an appointment 2 weeks out. All the while my window is leaking in my house and it's worse as the snow melts and the rains come. While some may say "these things happen"....no they don't with a quality installation. From Unacceptable to Phenomenal Job! We ordered windows from Window King based on the excellent reviews and highly neighborhood recommendations. Even though they were more expensive than another company based in Queens, we decided to go full force with Window King because they have a great reputation and we figured if something goes wrong, they are local and they would take care of us faster. I recently purchased 11 Windows for my 3 family house and I couldn't be more happy. Mike M. made the initial sales call. He was prompt and very professional. Initially I felt he didn't take me serious, but when he gave me the price and I whipped out my checkbook, his demeanor definitely changed. Communication with the office was my least favorite experience, but I was able to overlook. I am a project manager and work in the furniture industry (and have for the past 20 years), and completely understand the dynamics of customer service, installations, scheduling etc, and know that it can be overwhelming at various times. Not an excuse, but understandable. Fast forward 4 weeks, my installation gets scheduled and I was told that they would not contact me again, which was odd, but okay. The day of my install, the crew arrived on time and at the early end of my timeframe, which was great. These gentlemen walked in and immediately started working and did so until every window/cap was securely installed. The one callout that won me over, was their neatness. Every room they worked in was promptly cleared and cleaned. They swept, vacuumed and carted away all the debris. I was thoroughly impressed, and when they left besides the faint leftover dust, it was as though they were never there. BUT my new windows were proof that they were. The exterior of my house now, compared to the before, is a world of difference. I love it. And more importantly, no more drafts!! I didn't like their was no proof of payment, signed proof of install or company documentation to leave behind. That is a standard practice, but again, not a deal breaker. Nothing but headaches from Day 1. I'm giving 2 stars only because 1) Lisa, in their main office, is fantastic, and 2) They financially resolved all the headaches....but that didn't mean I didn't suffer countless hours of stress and dozens of calls and extra work to try to get the job done. Go elsewhere and pay a little more for a job done right the first time. The first issue I had was damage to my property from workers. They damaged 2 items in my home, then broke a window frame and tried to "caulk it over" so I wouldn't notice. Window King paid for resolution of issues, but it was a huge headache. Next, and most importantly, was shoddy work. Wish I could attach the photograph of one of the windows they installed...literally there's air and light coming through the top of the window. They sent another worker to rectify, but again a huge headache and something that never should have been called "done" in the first place. Finally, their sales rep Ron told me that I didn't need a permit to replace my windows... so imagine my surprise when City Inspectors issued me a Stop Work order! Now...are permits technically my responsibility as the homeowner? Yes. But the bottom line is: no vendor should give a customer wrong information. If they had said "I'm not sure if a permit is required or not", I would have said "Great, I'll find out." But he said "A permit is definitely NOT required" so I didn't check. Badly informed sales reps = more headache for me. If this had been the only problem I wouldn't have bothered writing a review....but it wasn't the only problem. Bottom line, if you feel like following around the workers all day to make sure things get done right, go ahead and hire Window King. But if you want the job done right, run. read more

They installed 18 double hung windows, and then put the metal capping on the outside (which I highly recommend as there's no extra charge. It's a lot of work cutting the pieces, and Caesar did a masterful job). By the way, I have a hard time making decisions, and both Mike the sales rep, and Caesar the installer, (and Maria), were very helpful discussing the various window styles, and especially the best color for the metal capping, since my house is an odd color. I really appreciated that, because some business people won't give their opinions, and their advice helped me decide what I wanted. It took them one day and a half. They cleaned everything, and when Jonathan had a few spare minutes he kindly helped me put up my blinds brackets, something not part of his job. I thought their price was fair, and the windows look beautiful, are simple to operate, and let in tons more light than my previous 50 year old windows. Recently, we purchased 3 windows from Window King. Their price was good and we are happy with the new windows. Our old windows were not installed right and we felt draft coming between windows and trims and the room was very cold. After installation, there is no more draft and the room is very warm. I think this saves a lot of electricity. The installation was really fast and efficient. They did quickly replaced them with new windows within 2 hours and they didn't make any mess or noise. They did a great job. The communication between with the company could have been better though as we don't hear from them for a while and initially they didn't explain how long ordering process would take. I ordered from Widow King after an extensive search and found them to be better than I ever expected. The problem with my own windows were that they were oversized commercial grade windows which leaked terribly and I was unable to find anyone who could replace these as the order was either too small or that they could not provide the oversized windows I needed. I ended up ordering two windows and a new backyard door and after a few weeks wait to have these customized windows fabricated their crew installed these for me without any problems at all. I was actually quite pleased at how neat and professional they were as they took every measure to make sure everything was set right. *WARNING* DO NOT USE THIS company. I am disgusted at the lack of integrity and professionalism. My landlord contracted them for new windows for his property. As normal procedure I allowed my landlord to give them access while I was at work. One of their workers stole my engagement ring out of my bedroom. I returned home that evening to find my ring missing and I IMMEDIATELY called the job foreman Rafael hysterically crying. He said he would help me resolve the matter. My husband called out of work the next day to wait for the crew (who needed to return to finish the job), and he called the police. Of course no one was going to admit to it. And I was told by the owner nick, since I don't have proof who took it he can't help me. He told me Rafael would have to help me because he was there. I spoke to Rafael last week, and he began to question if I even had a ring, where was the receipt, etc etc. All of a sudden this has gone from a theft happening on their watch that they should clean up.....to me proving a ring even existed. Rafael told me he would call me back, after I stated I have my ring certificate, he can take it to a jeweler and get a quote. Because I need to be compensated some how. Rafael has not called me back as of yet. So I have new Windows, but 13 years of memories went out those windows. Back in the summer of 2015, I purchased all new windows with grids for my Victorian Home. I'm very happy with the quality of the windows and the price was extremely competitive. One disappointment was the installation. The workers responsible for the install were required to caulk the inside and outside of the new windows. It wasn't until I renovated a room that I saw there was little to no caulk on the inside of the windows. Then, I began to look at the windows on the outside and noticed there was no caulking either. This was a huge deal because I ordered over 18 new windows so imagine how much caulk I'm going to need to rectify their mistake.
