I've been to this little shop a few times but never purchased anything until now. My daughter found a cute dress. The older lady was nice but could learn to smile a bit more. She did greet me and let me know about the sizes which was helpful. When paying for the dress she right away assumed I was charging it. I told her I was paying ATM. I felt like she thought I didn't have the funds to pay for the dress right away. As I was leaving I told her thank you and she just looked at me and turned the other way. Customer service does lack but that can change if the manager is willing to do it. The prices are very high but the quality is top notch. Be prepare to spend more on kids clothes. The clothing is absolutely adorable! The customer service however is the worst I've seen in the entire shopping center. Im not certain if this person is the manager, but an older woman working there ALWAYS has the worst demeanor with the customers. It takes so long to even be acknowledged or greeted (I've actually had to say hello on most occasions). I asked a question about a size available and she quickly gave an answer and resumed talking to another associate, leaving me quite confused. I wouldn't mind if the store was busy, but I was the only customer in the store. I would rather order items online. Baby clothing stores should always leave you with a warm feeling since all the items are so cute and most associates kind and helpful, but I always leave here feeling irritated. read more

I love the clothes here but hate the service. Especially at this location. No one here is friendly nor welcoming especially when you have an exchange or return. I have a friend who works for this company at another location and she told me that when you have a return or exchange the store gets hit with the return (meaning the returned revenue doesn't go back to the original store where it was purchased) that's not our fault though! It's quite obvious that the employees here get some sort of commission when they sell something or when the store sells a certain amount. Otherwise they wouldn't be so grouchy when handling your exchange or return. Guess how you can sell more? Be friendly, offer to show us the newest collections or suggest an additional piece that would go great with what we're getting or looking at and have a nicer attitude and give people space and acknowledgement vs just asking "are you doing ok?" all the time. How about "let me know if you need anything, my name is etc or who are you shopping for?" People buy more when they're welcomed, and spoken to genuinely. read more

Horrible experience. The female manager here is racist. I tried to do a return that she didnt want to do because I didnt have the receipt, but I had the card yet she didnt even want to try. We to kept telling her more than 3x until finally she did it and said oh it is the card. Yet the white girl next to us was getting help doing online order and they were doing all they possibly can to help her. Will not be coming back here again unless she is gone. read more

While it seems others have not had a good experience at this store, my visits have been complete opposite. Everyone always is so helpful, including the lady I believe is the manager. Yes, they are a little more expensive than some of the other children stores, but the quality is better and if you can catch a sale it's an amazing deal. read more

Love this store and so sad that it's closing! That being said this locations manager, who works most mornings is the worst! Her name is Kim! She is the rudest person who cuts you off and acts annoyed if you ask a question. She has always been this way but I've always let it go until today. The store is closing so they no longer offer returns. No problem...obviously i understand that. Currently the entire store is 20% because it's closing. She must've told me 50 times i couldn't return like I'm slow and don't understand. My real issue is that she told me the register couldn't auto put in the 20% off and she did the math and just charged me the lesser price. I said okay not thinking she would try and rip me off...mind you my 2 year old was done and i was trying to pay and tend her (while she kept telling me i can't return). The dress was $56 dollars and she charged me $54...that's her math for 20% off! I went in that night to ask about it and all i got told is that they can't do returns. He did apologize for how rude she is cause apparently I'm not the first to have complained about her. First time coming to this location and was extremely disappointed with the customer service provided by the old lady who appeared to be the manager . I extended my hand to receive my change and she threw it on the counter instead. She then proceeded to shove my bag across the counter instead of handing it to me . I agree with the last review, that you almost always feel unwelcome here, its super uncomfortable. Once you get noticed the older manager is a little too overbearing, constantly asking if you're still doing alright while you are trying to look through the sales rack, and coming behind you to fold the clothes back you still have in your hands. I don't know if she thought I was there to shoplift or what but I definitely didn't like the feeling, then she assumes i'm to use a credit card to purchase the items... the clothes are cute, and honestly I would only shop through the sales rack mostly because they're kids, its going to get dirty there's no doubt about it so why pay $40 for a t-shirt when you can get it for $10 on sale? I shop Janie and Jack for my three year old daughter. I love the style and quality of the clothes, however I am beyond put off with the customer service of this store. I recently came in and made a return on some clothes that I picked up for my kids because I was able to save money ordering them online. The manager was very insistent that I no longer do that, and just bring the things back for a price adjustment. In theory, it's a great idea and if I lived in California I would do that. But the fact of the matter is I don't, and it's already been several weeks past the period for a price adjustment. Not only was I put off by her demeanor and clear annoyance towards me, but she also tried to put my return to the side and help a customer in line behind me before she cared to take care of my transaction. When you start a sentence with "I'm not trying to be rude, but..." you probably just shouldn't be saying that sentence to a customer. Overall, I will continue to shop Janie and Jack, but you can count me out of giving the Valencia store my business any more. read more

Usually the staff is really nice. However the last time I went in there the one lady was extremely rude to me. She was so rude I had to write this review because I was in the store shopping for a dress so that my daughter had something to wear to her great aunts funeral. The fact that I was being treated so poorly on top of the previous mention really made me very upset. I will continue to shop here as long as I don't see this particular lady. Cutest baby and toddler clothes. Just a little pricy. But if you catch a sale, you can get some great stuff for a good price. I have purchased a few cute outfits for my nephew here. They also have great customer service. The woman who helped me went out of her way to help me find exactly what I was looking for and in the size I needed for my gift. I have been in this store a few times and my chick loves it. We did; however, stop coming to this location. Yes it is convenient, but neither of us can stand the older manager (I want to say her name is Kim). I hate talking bad about people, but she is awful. I had asked her to hold something for us and she grunted and rolled her eyes. We had left and come back to purchase. Luckily, the other person (idk her name but she is short with dark reddish hair) helped us and was great! Because of her, we followed through with our purchase.
