The sides are small portions, the "Asado" they serve is so tough the sever even had a hard time cutting through it!, and the sushi is just okay. The service is awesome! Emily was super friendly and was taking care of us attentively. We did Ayce premium, and we definitely liked our meat. We liked the pork belly marinated, the rib finger which is basically cut version of the kalbi, the boneless beef short rib was also good. Definitely love corn cheese, and some of their banchan. To preface, this spot offers a free fountain drink for reviews, so expect some reviews for that. I'll focus on their AYCE option not a la carte. They've replaced Palace which I never tried but if we're being honest the barbecue and sushi combo feels more on the gimmicky side to charge a premium. However, it is true Jang Gogi is high quality and worth a trip. Would come back for special occasions. Friendly service but admittedly slow as we had to wave down servers to order food more than half the time. You're limited to three meats per order which makes the lack of attention feel worse. Interior is fairly spacious and restrooms are available. Parking is easy because the restaurant is in a plaza and has parking spots all around. I would love if they offered a sushi AYCE separate from BBQ AYCE because from two rolls we ordered, I thought they were pretty decent quality. First impression is that Jang Gogi offers better AYCE sushi than anything else around for now but it is simply not good value compared to the meats. If they offered dessert for the high cost other than sesame balls maybe the price point feels better because some parties wouldn't snag dessert after. They also do not offer lettuce here for classic lettuce wraps so the house salad is the next best choice. Not quite the same but it works. Prime beef short rib was one of my favorites, but definitely hard to cut from the bone! Aesthetic but if they helped precut or separate the main body of meat from the bone I think that'd help a lot. read more

We liked the marinated boneless beef short rib, rib finger, kalbi, beef tongued, and steamed egg. Lots of sides to choose from and even have tempura, rolls, seaweed, musubi, etc. Just don't order the kaarage lol We tried the all you can eat premium priced $59. Came here while craving some kbbq after coming back from Korea. I saw they replaced palace bbq (which I also never tried). Came at 4pm when it was very empty, and they let me eat the kbbq alone. (Not recommended honestly, the portions are kind of large! So it meant I couldn't try as many meats.) The kimchi and pickles were pretty good. The meat was tasty, and the server helped cook it (he mentioned it was mostly if it wasn't too busy, it's not necessarily a given). I think the beef finger rib and the boneless rib were best, though I think the marinated versions tasted better than the non marinated ones in every instance. It was fun to order a random sushi roll (tasted nice), and I love getting more sauces (they had soybean paste)! read more

K pop playing in the background, not super loud but loud enough to make your group feel comfortable speaking up a little. Ventilation is superb, probably the best of any Korean bbq in the area. This place used to be Palace an older kbbq and got upscaled as a sushi+kbbq ayce restaurant. Came here around 2PM. My review is pickier than usual since I paid $91 total for the premium course which starts bumping up against extraordinary restaurants. The meat quality was good especially the short ribs and rib fingers. The issue is that the low heat from the grill. My table was unable to get a proper char onto the meat and had us waiting. This was an issue known before at the original palace where some grills are weaker than others. This is not excusable even at lower price points. The sushi was fine especially for ayce. Honestly better than some other spots in Redmond/Bellevue. The serving size was good as well. Watch out for the rice that fills you up fast! The salmon did have some briny sea taste to it so the sourcing could be better. This is excusable for budget sushi places but not at this price point. Service was mediocre. They did come by at a regular pace but they would leave quickly and I would have to catch them before they left in order to ask for more things. Often my table would want more water and would be waiting to get refills for other items such as sides. What is worse is that there were only two maybe a third other groups table seated so they were not busy. Again if you're charging at this price point and then adding a mandatory service gratuity for our group of 5 this level of service is not acceptable. Bottom line is that Janggogi needs to earn its premium price point. read more

The staff is really friendly, attentive and very polite. I like the ambiance of the place and how huge it is vs the old layout from the previous management.
