Came here while craving some kbbq after coming back from Korea. I saw they replaced palace bbq (which I also never tried). Came at 4pm when it was very empty, and they let me eat the kbbq alone. (Not recommended honestly, the portions are kind of large! So it meant I couldn't try as many meats.) The kimchi and pickles were pretty good. The meat was tasty, and the server helped cook it (he mentioned it was mostly if it wasn't too busy, it's not necessarily a given). I think the beef finger rib and the boneless rib were best, though I think the marinated versions tasted better than the non marinated ones in every instance. It was fun to order a random sushi roll (tasted nice), and I love getting more sauces (they had soybean paste)! read more

Recommend the signature set, the meat with the bone is my favorite. Ambiance is good and clean. K pop playing in the background, not super loud but loud enough to make your group feel comfortable speaking up a little. Ventilation is superb, probably the best of any Korean bbq in the area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking around and easy to get to. Quite pricey which is the norm around the area. Would come again for special occasions. Do wish they had coke zero instead of Pepsi zero though lol read more

Jang golgi has stepped up the bar for WA state kbbq! They have brought a style many have been looking for combining premium meats with sushi options as well! They had combo platters as well as an all you can eat option. Plenty of good side dishes to accompany the proteins as well as amazing customer service. I would definitely recommend Jang golgi as the new best kbbq in town! It's very clean in there and their ventilation makes it so you don't leave smelling like meat all day! read more

Such a solid AYCE KBBQ experience! The food quality was consistently good across the board. The banchan (side dishes) were genuinely amazing, way more thoughtful and varied than the usual AYCE afterthought. Meat selection was excellent too with good variety of cuts, all fresh and well-marbled. And the service was great the whole night, attentive without being intrusive, quick to refill and swap out grill plates. Overall a great value for the quality -- will definitely be back! read more

This place used to be Palace an older kbbq and got upscaled as a sushi+kbbq ayce restaurant. Came here around 2PM. My review is pickier than usual since I paid $91 total for the premium course which starts bumping up against extraordinary restaurants. The meat quality was good especially the short ribs and rib fingers. The issue is that the low heat from the grill. My table was unable to get a proper char onto the meat and had us waiting. This was an issue known before at the original palace where some grills are weaker than others. This is not excusable even at lower price points. The sushi was fine especially for ayce. Honestly better than some other spots in Redmond/Bellevue. The serving size was good as well. Watch out for the rice that fills you up fast! The salmon did have some briny sea taste to it so the sourcing could be better. This is excusable for budget sushi places but not at this price point. Service was mediocre. They did come by at a regular pace but they would leave quickly and I would have to catch them before they left in order to ask for more things. Often my table would want more water and would be waiting to get refills for other items such as sides. What is worse is that there were only two maybe a third other groups table seated so they were not busy. Again if you're charging at this price point and then adding a mandatory service gratuity for our group of 5 this level of service is not acceptable. Bottom line is that Janggogi needs to earn its premium price point. read more

My family and I had such a wonderful experience here! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome and taken care of. The staff is really friendly, attentive and very polite. I like the ambiance of the place and how huge it is vs the old layout from the previous management. The portion of the food they served is just right to not be full, but enough to keep trying everything on the menu. I would come back again for the experience. Really enjoyed Jang Gogi! The flavors were great across the board, and one of the biggest standouts for me was the banchan. Everything we tried was well marinated, flavorful, and not overly salty. The meat quality was high. If you've been to Seoul Meat Co., I'd say the quality is pretty comparable, which is a good reference point. The ambiance was also a nice part of the experience, lively without feeling too chaotic, and it had a warm, inviting BBQ spot energy that made the meal feel even more enjoyable and social. What I liked most about Jang Gogi was the ability to break up all the richness from the meat. The cold noodles/ban chan were especially refreshing and worked really well as a palate cleanser between rounds of BBQ. The sushi also gives you another way to switch things up so the meal doesn't feel like nonstop meat the entire time. Service was quick, attentive, and kind throughout the meal. The selection of meats was excellent, everything came out fresh, and the quality was surprisingly good for an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ. We especially enjoyed being able to try a variety of meats without feeling rushed. Tried the Hawaiian Roll at Janggogi and it was really good. The combination of crab salad, shrimp tempura, salmon poke, red onion, and red tobiko worked surprisingly well together. The shrimp tempura added a nice crunch while the salmon poke gave it a fresh and flavorful balance. Every bite felt rich but not too heavy. We live right down the street from and always passed by Palace saying, "I wish we had good Korean bbq in our hood." So we were excited to see it change to Janggogi. We went the first time and ate a la carte. The second time, we came hungry and ordered the signature AYCE. We brought my mom for her 70th birthday and she said it was the best Korean meal she has had in the US since leaving Korea in the 80s! Her favorite was the cold noodles. I approached someone about it-not sure if he's the manager or not but he was very apologetic about it and said that they don't have seating for 10 at one table. But they tried their best by putting us all in the corner together. Not the same thing unfortunately as we could not all celebrate or converse all together. I told him that I had called specifically asking if they could accommodate 10 and I was assured they could but I did not know I had to ask "at the same table?". They should have been forthcoming that it would be at two different tables otherwise I would have made a reservation elsewhere for the celebration. What could I do but just accept his apology? But then, with a party of 10, I would think we would get extra attention but I guess since tip is already included after 5 in a party, they just called it in because I had to ask for more plates, more napkins, spoons, & water because the setting at the table was for 2, and we had 4. No one even asked us if we needed any more broth nor did they ever come to ask if anyone wanted a refill of the AYCE meats. Not that we could eat anymore but no one even offered. And, since everyone had to order the same meat plates, and one person wanted the wagyu, we all had to get wagyu at our table. Doesn't seem fair to me especially when they don't even offer more but I guess that's policy. When my son and I come in by ourselves, they are very attentive and always ask us if we need more of anything. But it was hard to find anyone to come to our table. They never checked on us after they brought the broth and meats the one time. So let me say I was very upset that the tip was included because really, no one served us unless we asked for more things. No one checked on us. Then I had to go and find someone so we could pay our bill. They apologized again for not seating us together but what could I say at that point? I'm not going to make a scene but it ruined a special night when all of the family couldn't sit together. Very disappointed with this visit especially when it's one of our fave places and we frequent it often and spent a good amount of $ that night with 10 people.
