I was looking for something very specific, and not the style of the apparel here, but I enjoyed browsing a bit. I was greeted by two different sales people who, after saying hello, quickly walked the other direction. Maybe if they'd engaged with me, I might have been encouraged to stay longer. But if I need a flowy dress for a tea party, I know where I can find one.

Some people work hard so they can…read morebuy a house, some people work hard so they can get a nice car...I work hard so I can get what I want at Altar'd State. Ironically, every time I go into this dang store, I say to myself, "I am just going to browse" and then I leave with multiple bags. A $100 visit to Altar'd State or a $100 visit to a therapist? Don't bother convincing me to go see Kathleen, LCSW again; I already swiped my card at this gem of a store. I am still trying to convince Blue Cross Blue Shield to reimburse me for the dress and shoes I purchased the other day. The first time I found Altar'd State, I thought to myself, "what the heck is that place?". From the outside, it looks like a literal chapel. The inside is just as breathtaking too. This specific location is located right within Mountain View Village so you can get anything else done while you are in the area. The location is absolutely perfect. They have doors on either side that you can walk through. The doors are a bit heavy but they even have a beautiful touch to them. When you walk inside, you immediately get a wiff of a fresh aroma. I love how it smells in here! As aforementioned, the overall vibe in here is amazing! They have a water ball (? I don't know what else to call it) near the check out area that is really fun to look at. The ceiling and the chandeliers are beautiful...AND the products they sell are amazing of course!!! I don't know who is designing this stuff and I don't know how much they make...but it is not enough. Every time I go into Altar'd State and try something on, it feels like it was literally made for me. I have found so many things I cannot live without while I have been browsing this store. So so so many beautiful shirts, dresses, shoes, you name it. The pricing depends on how you look at it. Typically their pieces start at $70-$80. They are definitely a bit steep. However, they do have a clearance area near the fitting room with some killer deals! I have spent $80 on a few items but I have also bought stuff for as low as $9.99. As much as I love this, it does kind of become a punch in the gut with how it went from $80 to $9.99... I have found cute shoes here and there is so many cute dresses I have found here and wear religiously. Their products are all great and I would definitely rather find cute products in the clearance section but sometimes I can't help but buy the item while they have it in my size and everything. On more than one occasion, I have found ranch inspired products, like a $14 dish towel that says "Ranch dressing is a blessing". I am glad we are on the same page, Altar'd State. The staff is always really nice and helpful. They greet people at the door without being super pushy, like car salesmen. When I was changing in the fitting room, the girl knocked, addressed me by name, and asked me how I was doing & if I needed anything multiple times. Things like this can really go a long way. The cashiers are always quick and nice. I have truly never had a bad experience here in that regard. I am obsessed with Altar'd State and I will continue going back for many many years to come. I tell all my friends how awesome it is and like I said, I can't leave this place empty handed. I can't say enough good things about Altar'd State!!

I've always admired the sparkling dresses in the window, but didn't have a good reason to go inside until just recently. I was pleased with the selection and the variety of price points on the dresses. A lovely sales associate greeted me and asked what I was looking for. She was kind and pointed me right to where I found a great dress. The quality isn't amazing-in fact, the dresses seem to be on the low end of quality. But if you're looking for something for a one-time use that has a big "wow" factor, I'm pretty sure Bliss will have something great for you.

Overall cute store, a little pricey, but great quality. I'm giving it four stars because the girls in the store didn't say a single word to my sister and I. Keep in mind we're both Latino, but when other white girls walked in they were greeted. I usually don't think about the race issue a ton, but I definitely felt ignored. I will be back because some clothes are worth spending money on, but I'll have to do it with anticipation of what items I'll be looking for, that way I don't feel out of place or ignored by the girls in the store.

The difference between this location and the Foothill Village location is astonishing. The…read moreemployees at the Foothill location are always so friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make my visit to their store pleasant. A few months ago, my husband was with me at the Creekside location and was standing outside the dressing rooms holding my purse. One of the women there rudely asked him what he was doing there. He was nicely dressed and neatly groomed and it embarrassed him. He politely told her that he was waiting for me while I was trying on clothes. She didn't bother to apologize. It wasn't rocket science, he was holding a purse in a clothing store waiting for his wife. He didn't tell me this until we were home, which is probably a good thing. I called the district manager about it, and apparently he didn't find it necessary to fire this rude woman because she is still there. I avoided this store for quite a while but I was in the area and went back a few days ago because it was the first day of their big sale. Nothing there has changed. The women there do not greet you when you walk in, my shoulder was about to break before anyone offered me a dressing room and when I got to the checkout, one of the women made it very clear that she was much too busy to help me so she sent me to a woman named Nancy. Nancy was impatient and unfriendly and rude. I was trying to look at the tags and she very bluntly told me that she would take care of it. She charged me too much for one of the blouses, but I'm not going back there to show her the error. I was trying to talk to her, but I couldn't hear her because the rude lady who told me she was too busy to help me was yelling numbers and information to another woman across the store. Really? This couldn't wait? The Foothill store wraps your purchases neatly in tissue paper and asks if you would like boxes for any of the garments. Nancy shoved my garments in a bag like they do at Walmart. I have two sisters who live close to that Chico's and have had similar experiences and now drive to the Foothill store. I would suggest that the Creekside ladies learn some manners and customer service from Susan, Linda, and the other ladies at the Foothill store.

Madewell jeans range about $100+, but I think it's worth it. Madewell offers a trade-in program that if you donate a pair of jeans (any jeans from any brand) they will give you $20 off a brand new pair. Their recycle program uses old jeans for insulation in buildings. The quality of fabric to the zip of the zipper was really impressive. When I was browsing and asking questions, the girls that work there were very knowledgeable. I thought I knew my size, but they actually told me to size down sometimes 1-2 sizes lower! I never in my life thought I would fit a size 29 ever again. I'm a huge fan of Madewell. They also offer free hemming. If you are purchasing from the Fashion Place location and are getting your jeans hemmed, the jeans are picked up on Tuesdays. You can pick them up when they're finished or they will mail it back to you. 10/10 for company culture and helpfulness of the store employees. I told myself I would buy one pair of jeans a month until I'm done recycling through my old jeans so that I can invest in quality jeans.

So now I'm stuck with jeans that don't fit and I only missed the 30 day return window by a week or so. I've bought so many things from Madewell over the years but I won't anymore since they can't even try to be accommodating.
