Unfortunately the owner has been rude on separate occasions over the years. Not just to us, she has her days but to other customers. Mostly on the delivery of the way she corrected other people on what's best for their horse. We used to visit to see their chick's when they have them but stopped because on occasion they haven't been kept well with the smell and dying sickly chicks. It's sad, poor babies. By far my favorite feed store to visit! Love to check out all the animals my kids love coming to see all the horses, ducks, chickens, and very friendly shop puppy! Owner is so very nice, a couple times I've been a few dollars short and she allowed me to come back a couple days later to pay her. Can't beat customer service like that! She has more than a few times given me handfuls of dog food samples to take home to my pups. Now that it is also a cute little boutique I spend a lot of money there lol but that's between me and social media now Hubby doesn't need to know. Overall a great place to get quality feed at a competitive price! Jamie's prices are WAY better than Ranch Feed down the road. I buy senior feed for my horses and it's $5 a bag cheaper here. Sweet and friendly services! I just got a Light Brahma chick that's a week old from here for about $4 as a companion for my other chick. There was an nice woman who helped me. She told me that when my chickens start laying eggs, I can come by with a bag and scoop up some extra straw for their nests. I also asked what they do with all the extra chicks who aren't sold, and she told me that they keep them and build extra coops for them on the ranch out back. I like that. This place is a couple miles past the Ranch Feed and Pet Supply Store. It's a red barn with a white picket fence. There are also other animals (including puppies) and other pet supplies. The only minus is that the products are limited because of the size of the store. read more

I was sad to see so many ducks all squeezed into a tiny cage without water. The kittens were also in a cage and had no water so my son went and asked the owner to put water in there. She took a bottle of water that had been sitting in the sun and poured it through the cage into the bowl. They were in the sun and it is super hot in Jamul. I just would have liked to see them in the shade with water. read more

Went to buy an adult duck. Was pushed to buy a $350 boar pig by some one who did not appear to be working there. Inquired if a caged female adult khaki duck was for sale, told rudely, not for sale by woman who tried to sell me pigs. My guess is woman was angry I didn't buy her expensive pig. My suggestion to this business is that they are more careful about who they let hang out on their property and peddle over priced animals. Don't go this store, not the first time I have been pushed to buy some sickly and/or overpriced animal that a non-employee (friend of owner?) is hustling. Go to Ranch Feed in Jamul. Just a skip and jump down the road for great service, great product and consistantly healthy, reasonably priced stock, RANCH FEED! read more

Have been shopping there for a few years. I find the staff very helpful and friendly. They have a wife variety of feed and always have new chickens, ducks, etc. They carry feeders, water containers and the rest of the things one would need for small animals. They have hay an large animal cages. Very convenient as they are right next to Camp Rd/ Highway 94 and lots of parking. Not a super fancy place but just what you need when you need a large bag of very affordable dog food or some other pet/farm animal supply. My kids love to stop and see the animals and birds. We decided to raise some chickens recently and they were extremely helpful with advise. Give them a try. I think you will be happy.hey have some rarer variety of chickens at time for extremely reasonable prices. read more

Hoped to shop here since they're close to me. Bought 6 layer chicks, bag of crumble and a small plastic feeder....$137. Way to much to pay and then end up 2/3 roosters. Needed some bedding for them, they suggested some straw out of a trash can of used straw and trash for baby chicks!! read more

Well, off the top I wasn't too pleased with my purchase at this location. I called prior to walking into the store to ask if they had any guinea pig pellets and to my surprise....they said they did! So i gladly said I'll be right there to purchase the 50# bag they said they carried. One lady carried it straight to my car and then we went inside so i could buy it. I had errands to run and got home two hours later to feed my pigs. I opened the sack and it looked more like hard, tiny wheat grains. Not what I asked for (clearly NOT pellets). Not to mention that there were a ton of black little bugs inside every where. I called immediately to express my concern but she was unwilling to let me return this 50# bag (kind of have to open it to feed animals) I have no use for and she still suggested I feed it to them!! I was disgusted beyond belief and hung up. Clearly I wasn't going to be getting my $20 back i just spent there. I went to another feed store further away and they had EXACTLY what i asked for. My suggestion is to go there if you ONLY need horse supplies or baby chicks but for small animal supplies..forget about it & dont waste your time. read more

Etta and Jamie are very helpful and friendly.I love all the new changes to the store !! You get a little bit of everything here. I was able to purchase a pair of slightly used boots for my daughter and show outfits for her. I have horses, dogs and rabbits. They carry good quality food and a variety of items for other animals.
