We walked in and proceeded to the back of the store where the groomer and the Banfield Pet Hospital are located. We walked into the groomer and were the only customers. We were greeted by a very cheerful Heather. Heather was just finishing the grooming of a poodle looking dog. She took the dog to the back and returned to us. She took all of our info. We did not have proof of rabies vaccination for Ozzy. Heather was happy to call our primary vet at the El Cajon Valley Animal Hospital to verify. Once that was complete, she turned her attention to Ozzy. Heather was so sweet. Ozzy is typically a bit skittish, but she was fairly comfortable with Heather. Ozzy allowed Heather to leash her up without fighting it or whimpering. Heather's "bedside manner" was fabulous. She had us leave Ozz with her and asked us to wait outside on the bench on the other side of the frosted window. She said she'd tap on the window when Ozz was finished. About five minutes later there was a tap on the glass. Ozzy was finished and her nails trimmed properly. No muss, no fuss. 12 bucks. We went to the registers up front to pay and we were on our way.

Instead of immediately pointing me toward medication, she took the time to ask questions and suggested that the fresh food might be too rich for him. She recommended mixing in some kibble first to see if that helps before jumping into meds. I ended up getting a salmon-flavored dry food to try, and I really appreciated her honest advice. It felt like she actually cared about my dog and not just making a sale. Great customer service--thank you for the help!

I have a trusted vet I take my pets to and according to Petcos policy, you are able to sell and prescription needed to a person with a veterinary written prescription. They still denied me and said that policy isn't true. Petsmart accepted my prescription. Petco lost my business.

My second order has been a very frustrating experience. Regarding my store credit, there was no way to apply it to an online purchase. I tried calling several times to reconcile this via ordering over the phone or obtain some type of of coupon that could be used online, but my calls went unanswered over several days and later my calls were answered by an automated message saying their phone system was done. Because customer service had previously been favorable, I made the order online and sent an email asking for the credit to be applied. One week after the order was placed, and ten days after leaving my last voicemail with customer service, I received a call answering that message. The service rep, Dominique, was pleasant, but she could not help us with applying the credit. We had not yet received a confirmation of order or shipping notification, which we asked Dominique to provide. She said that would be provided and also said that the order would be shipping in no less than three business days, probably sooner. Instead, five business days later I received a notification that the items would be shipped the following day. KW Cages has quality products and if you order one month in advance, you might just get want you ordered when you need it.

I appreciated the headsup! Booking was easy and so was pickup. While it took longer than expected, they communicated with me and kept me updated, which is understandable knowing Onion's demeanor. Overall self wash is a decent enough price but I believe they have deals on certain days. Now on to the grooming... Had to use their grooming services last min because my usual groomer was completely booked! Dirty Dogs staff was extremely accommodating and communicative during the book process after I booked online. We happen to get Miss Megan and WE LOVE HER!! She was so great with my hairy girl and really took the time to get all the mats out!! She did really incredible work and I HIGHLY recommend going to her but all the groomers there are wonderful!

I've been coming to Dirty Dogs in Carmel Mountain for a while to use the self-wash station. In the…read morepast, whenever I asked for a tub to be cleaned, staff usually sanitized it. But, today was different. Both tubs had visible dog hair all over the mats, inside the tubs, and even in the drains. Which clearly hadn't been properly cleaned. When I politely asked if the tubs were sanitized, I was told they were sprayed down. But when I asked for gloves to clean it myself, the staff member came over with a dismissive attitude. removed the drain piece, set it aside, and walked away without actually cleaning it. Cleanliness should be a basic expectation, right? Especially, at a self-wash facility. I was disappointed not just by the filth, but also by the way I was treated for asking. I ended up leaving without washing my dog, after driving all the way from Escondido and coordinating with my husband to meet me there. It was a waste of time and a really disappointing experience. This unfortunately isn't a very generous window. To my dismay I was on day 6 so they said they couldn't. I explained that I live about 30min away and am off work around 630/7 so it's VERY difficult to make it down within the 5d period. After explaining this they said they could make an exception. The one downside is their driftwood pricing. They do have sims decent selection; however there's no set pricing guidelines. Other LFS stores use color-coded zip ties to denote price; here they don't. Online it says they sell based on weight; however the times I've bought pieces they've never weighed it: it seems like they just come up with a number and that's what you pay up. I guess another downside is they have a smaller selection (of goods in general) than other local LFS stores and they're a bit pricier.
