I was waiting for Petco to send me some kind of survey but I haven't received one yet so I will rate it here. We just finished a 6 week training course with our puppy Dixie. I signed up for group classes but we were the only ones registered so it ended up being a one-on-one. I would totally recommend it!! Rebecca is the trainer at Spring Valley. She was so patient and explained everything very well. She is very knowledgeable and professional. I can tell Dixie looked forward to going to her class every Thursday because she would get excited once we were close to the building. Rebecca was also flexible with rescheduling due to our life issues. On her last class Dixie received her certificate and a bag full of goodies. I can see a huge improvement in Dixie's behavior!! Wow! This place was lively with the citrusy pups ready to be beautified! Right when you walk in to your left is a self service pup wash. The staff was absolutely amazing! I called over the phone with some questions and when I came in and mentioned to both ladies at the register, one acknowledged that they helped me over the phone and showed me exactly what I was looking for. They also match their online price and she wasn't rude about me asking that at all. She was super helpful and also answered my questions about the vet they have onsite! Great self dog wash option ! For $20 you can do their self service dog wash. Great location, staff, products. They provide a clean station, filled products, towels, apron, shampoo/conditioner, some brushes. The water temperature hot and cold were a little difficult at my wash but when you got the temperature right it was great. Highly recommend ! I don't know why I went further to petsmart. This place has really changed. Most employees are super friendly and knowledgeable but the management staff has become a joke. Very unprofessional and making snarky remarks as a "joke" to customers. The workers seems a bit down too when management is around like they are uncomfortable. I hope management gets some training. I've been coming here since Matt used to be a manager. Vetco clinic was great and patient with my dog. good service on their end. but the cashiers at the front were talking and not paying attention. The person who checked me out was named "Sore" not sure if that was the whole name but she was very rude. Did not greet me at all, just scanned my receipt for purchase and slammed the scanner back down. The store opens at 10:00am and it hasn't been open for more than an hour when i was there and the customer service was horrendous. Just stared at me after giving my receipt. I Bring my huskita for self wash. Price is reasonable and they give you extra supplies if you need them. No more covid restrictions or time limit. It was really hard for just one person to wash big dog, in our case. Best ti.e to go right when they open. Gives you a bit more time to wash your pooch before the dog rush. read more

Kind, friendly staff! Clean store and clean self dog wash. The self dog wash comes with 2 towels, shampoo, conditioner, 2 brushes, and the air dryer. It's everything you need to give your dog a great bath and not have to worry about your house smelling like wet dog or messing up your bathroom! The wash is conveniently located when you first walk in the door to the left. There are 4 tubs and they are all in the same room. The room does not have a door or area to put an additional dog if you bring 2 and can only wash one at a time. But overall it's great! read more

Iv been here a few times for food, treats and other goodies. This review is mainly for the self wash station! I love it! It makes it so much easier to wash my Pup! It's $12 and they supply the shampoo, conditioner, brush, and towels. They also have a dryer. I used to give my dogs baths at home but now I just come here to make it easy. I can keep all the dirt and mess here and don't have to worry about the hair clogging any drains! All of the staff are super nice and helpful as well. read more

Nothing but positive experiences here, always! We are always greeted coming in and leaving, and on top of that most of the staff remembers my dog and I. Every time we come in someone will almost always ask about my dog if he's not present, or greet him (with treats sometimes) if he's with me. This store also tends to have some really good deals too. I always come here for my dogs' food and for sure take advantage of their rewards system. I have also done training here with Pearla and she's the best. It's my favorite place to take my dog in between groomings with our usual lady. It's not timed and you don't have to worry about making a mess at your house. Only con is there's one hair dryer. I like to fluff my dog and it's a first come first serve basis so you have to share it. They need another one in my opinion. The store itself, sells a variety of different foods like the Organic and healthy brands of dog food, which is great because my dog has to be fed a certain kind. Best Unleashed/ Petco I've been to in a while. I am new to the Spring Valley area so I thought I'd make my self and Lizzy (my dog) there. I need a great pet supply shop that is close to my house and thank goodness that Unleashed is 3 blocks away from me. Lizzy likes Pig Ears, Bully Sticks, Chicken Feet; come to find out Unleashed had them all and more! had to pick me up some with the great 5 for $5 deal they had going on. After my check out I was there for maybe another 15 minutes getting info on all the pet food they have at the store and training they provide for dogs. My absolute go to when my Marleybear needs a bath! $10 and you get shampoo, conditioner, brush, and a blow dryer. There are times when it's busier than others, and the area has tons of hair everywhere, but I get it. Either way- it's easy, convenient and Marleybear always smells fresh after! This place isn't too far from my house so we always go here for last minute goods. I cannot stress enough how great the rewards program is. We shop a medium amount and get crazy good discounts on food (one time we paid $5 for a big bag) and other treats. It's free so definitely sign up. The workers here are always super helpful especially on busy weekends. Their clothes section is lacking so that's unfortunate. We come for cow hooves, goat horns, food and toys. We've also gotten our dogs collar tags here. It'll get the job and it's always really clean and quiet. They have a great collar/leash section too. read more

I live in the neighborhood and just got a new puppy. I went in to look at the food choices and felt so overwhelmed that ended going to the front counter. As I patiently waited my turn (a couple in front of me) I saw the stores advertisement of dog training classes. Further more I also saw they had a puppy play date on the weekends. I was extremely excited and ready to be helped. At the registered I saw two young ladies, one was helping the couple in front of me and the other looked like she was putting things on the shelf. As a young male customer got in back of me I looked over to the employee who was putting things on the back shelf. She turned and asked the young man how could she help him. It took me a minute to realize she didn't acknowledge me nor asked, who was next. The young male asked for direction on where to find the toothbrushes and toothpaste. The employee exited the front counter as she spoke to him and directed him to the aisle. I assumed she was done with that customer and began to ask my question about the puppy training program. She turned to me and looked annoyed and told me to hold on a minute that she was just going to show him the aisle. At that point I got really irritated because clearly there was a line, this employee decided to skip me and assist the customer in back of me. As I was walking out the door she was coming back and asked me "okay! now, how could I help you". I responded with nothing at all I am going to another store. I told her I found it offensive she ignored me and assisted the person in back of me. She said nothing... I walked out. I was ready to get all I needed from this location, especially vaccinations! Food, toys, training classes etc... it sucks this employee doesn't realize how her actions caused a lost in revenue for this business. I told my neighbor about my experienced, she has three Yorkies, her comment was; "not surprised I stopped shopping there too, customer service is horrible". read more

OMG the sales person Mercedes rocks. We have a 12 year mini poodle that has a heart murmur and we have had her since she was eight weeks old. Her name is Trisha and she has always been the most pickiest dog about her food. And we have tried almost everything from things that are not so good like pork chop, chicken etc. And yesterday I was down at the unleashed by my house because Trisha's stomach again was acting up so had to get the anti diarrhea med that she is constantly on. Even the Vet has given us food which she just turns her nose up. Well yesterday thank you Mercedes at the unleashed suggested grain free Merrick thanksgiving dinner for all life stages. I've had a great experience every time I visited this location. I am a big fan of the self wash bathe stations, which is what initially got me in the doors. Now I continue to drive from Chula Vista to this location because of their customer service. Each staff member I've encountered has been very friendly, genuinely nice and have a Bubbly personality. They even give my dogs a snack every time we come. They facility is clean, with the exception of the bathing stations, but is very reasonable. On Sunday me and my boyfriend came to wash our 2 huskies. The stations were not cleaned, but a staff member apologized, carried my basket for me and cleaned it in front of us. He then offered to give us extra towels because our dogs are double coated. Love, Love, Love the atmosphere read more

Pros: Friendly, helpful employees who come up and talk to you about your pet if your pup accompanies into the store, seems to have a large selection pet foods that included more natural products, has tempting doggie "bakery fare" by the check-out (dog biscuits and treats made to look like cookies and other sweets), cuter cat harnesses than I've seen in any other pet store (they look like little jackets and shirts, but are functional harnesses), and reasonable prices on most things. Everything is well stocked, with nary an empty shelf in sight. Cons: Dog leash/collar/apparel section is kind of small, limiting the selection, especially in the smallest sizes. (Though the prices in that section are nice!) The other Unleashed location on H St in Chula Vista seemed to have a bit more available in their collar section than this store does, so I'll just go there. This location also seems to carry fewer toys than other pet stores. Service: I didn't catch her name, but the employee with purple in her hair was wonderful, making sure we were helped, coming to greet my dog and ask about her, and even finding me to warn me when another customer came in with a large dog that wasn't friendly with other dogs, so I could pick up my chihuahua and give the bigger dog a wide berth while shopping. Only 4 stars because they didn't have what I was looking for (not much XXS-sized dog stuff for my tiny chihuahua rescue pup), and didn't have many toys I could get for my other dog at home, but the store was great aside from that. read more

I've been to this location since they opened and I never had a problem with giving my dog a bath with flea shampoo but today Brandon the manager on duty since he is on the clock and how he runs things he told me that I was going to have to buy a bottle for 14.99 Plus the $10 to give my dog wash I let him know that has never been a problem before so he said that's the way HE runs things when he's on shift I live around the area so now I have to go to another unleashed to give my dog a bath because I choose not to come over here as a paying customer and get attitude from the manager on duty so I politely said thank you and left. The prices are a bit high but they do price adjustments with their competitors with no problems. The location us great and the customer service is awesome. Angie helped my dog try on at least 4 harnesses and even helped me put this doggy car seat together in my car. Very kid friendly as well. My family love coming here whenever it is our dog's birthday and buy them a birthday cookie or if we're feeling nice and buy them a cookie for dessert after dinner. We like to come here once in a while though, because it is expensive! 1 cookie is around $2.29 and the cookie is super small but our dogs love them (especially the icing on the cookie) so it's worth it! Matt is always so patient, professional and his knowledge of dog nutrition is beyond even what a vet would have. I always go to Matt for advice on what best products I need for my two dogs. Great customer service, and friendly customers too which is an added bonus. I enjoy getting treats here for my dogs as well as flea products for their flea maintenance. They also offer affordable vaccines and oral flea treatments here at certain times of the month, which is convenient. It's a nuisance to do it at the vet since they will charge you for the office visit too. The only reason I took off a star is because Petco tends to be on the expensive side compared to other pet stores. I buy my food and dental chews at Costco because you get quality AND quantity for an unbeatable price. read more

On February 24th, Unleashed Petco hosted the NeuterScooter/SpayBus that offers low cost Neuters & Spays for your kitty or doggie, even feral & stray cats get a chance of life without constant reproduction. Your dog gets a rabies shot & license for the cost of the fix. I know all this because we brought out precious rescue Chi pup Bella to be spayed last Tuesday.
