My wife and I drove out to Fairfax to eat a specific restaurant, but when we saw "all you can eat pasta" on a sign in this places window, Pasta Amore was the new destination! We came here around 1PM on a Sunday and the place was completely empty. The staff up front checked us in, sat us down, and guided us through the menu so we knew what was going on. The menu here has some chicken wings, sides, and other random things, but the unlimited pasta for $13.99 is what we were interested in checking out. Basically, they have a list of different pastas to choose from and if you want things like chicken or meatballs added, it can be for some extra money. Now, I wasn't about to spoil the $13.99 deal so I figured I was about to crush five or six plates of pasta, but come to find out, I was lying. I started off with a plate of the RIgatoni & Marinara and plate came out on literal fire. The pasta was super fresh and actually tasted really, really, really good. After crushing the first place, my confidence was up so I figured I would give the Smokey Chipotle Penne and it was even better then the first dish. The sauce had a little bit of a kick to it, but the flavour was so good I almost ordered it again.....almost. Come to find out, two plates of pasta was the most I was able to finish and I tapped out. Overall, Pasta Amore was a super fun time and definitely a place I could see returning to in the future. Worst service ever! Walked in expecting to be seated and eat a lovely set of pasta (I was looking forward to all you can eat). The restaurant did not look too busy from the outside which is why my boyfriend and I walked in- we were hungry. Shortly after we walk in a group of Caucasian women walk in. Mind you we've been waiting for about 5 minutes to be seated and the waiter who I later come to find out is named Fransico asks "Who got here first?", I responded "we did" and he hits me back with an "Are you sure (in Spanish)- little does he know my primary language is English (thankfully I speak Spanish). He sits us at a table and asks us what we'd like to eat with some sort of attire all while talking to us in Spanish ... I ignore it and try to enjoy my time at the place. That is until I see that all three ladies that came in after us get their food first. Which I wouldn't particularly mind, but we still waited about 30mins after one of them had already finished a plate and our food had not been served. I'm starving at this point. I decide to go to the front and request to speak to the manager, which according to Fransico was not there at the moment. I told him what I found wrong about his service and he blamed us not getting our food first on the cook. Not sure if he was telling the truth, but his treatment towards me and my boyfriend made me believe he was not being truthful. His attitude changed once I brought this up and the food was done shortly after, but I could no longer eat with this taste in my mouth. Honestly, after reading the reviews and hearing about the place on tiktok, I was skeptical of the restaurant's ambiance, food, and dining experience. I've seen some mixed reviews. Although, I am glad that I stuck with the gut feeling of me giving this place a chance. Not to mention the owner's replies particularly piqued my interest to try this place out for myself and give it an unbiased and honest review. Firstly there is parking behind the restaurant, probably close to 20 places. it is advertised on their website that parking is free for any paying customer of the restaurant, unfortunately there was no parking attendant present when we got there and when we asked about it in the restaurant they let us know that the parking fee was out of there hands and that we should just pay. We came on a Tuesday evening (2/3/26 at 5:15) and the restaurant had some people in it but you can tell it was a slow dinner night. When waiting to be seated, you get a view into the open kitchen space which lets you see the pasta dishes being made. Cleanliness was not an issue for me because I saw that the kitchen was spotless despite the cook being hard at work. My girlfriend and I were seated quickly and the waiter gave us time to look at the menu. We came in knowing we wanted to do the ayce pasta and exactly what dishes we wanted. Our server was extremely hospitable, genuine, and gave us lots of time to think. He came and took our order quickly and was helpful overall. One thing I will say is that the restaurant does NOT offer free water. They only have bottled or sparkling water. Not a dealbreaker, but just something to note. We put in our order for the mushroom alfredo as well as the penne with pink sauce. Both dishes came out fairly quickly and we were ready to dive in. Visually both plates look well made. The food is good for what you are paying. Sauces were legit and well made, not too watery, salty, or lacking flavor. They definitely don't skimp out on the fats either, the butter or cream they use for the alfredo is of high quality. The pasta was a bit over al dente but still very enjoyable, not mushy at all. It's also interesting to see that the detail of parsley was not skipped even though this place is an ayce unlimited pasta. When the pasta came the server also offered us more cheese which was very nice and welcoming. As others have mentioned, portions are rather large and the $5 leftover fee is again, something to note- so getting through more than two plates might be rough for some people. The person who sat us down was also our server and seemed to be helping in the kitchen in the back as well. He was super attentive with all the patrons in the restaurant and made sure that we were satisfied and that all was well. The two of us barely finished our plates and we were stuffed. We expected to maybe try one more plate but we were full. Our server came over and asked if we were going to order more but we let him know that we were full. He was so accommodating and offered to do a half portion of a pasta for us to taste more of the menu. This was such a generous gesture and the service overall was amazing. One last thing to touch will be the ambiance. The restaurant itself isn't hard to miss although it is in an odd location. A little hole in the wall is placed in between another restaurant. Parking isn't bad (although you do have to pay $12 for the nearest lot). The ambiance was a little odd. The decor was not what I would expect from an Italian restaurant, but it didn't take away much from the experience. The lighting was a tad dark with flashing led lights. The real annoying thing was the pop edm music, it was loud and did not positively affect our night. Very disappointing I am a long time customer. I have ordered multiple times online and this order sorry to say was just atrocious. The containers have changed now it's cardboard and the portions seem smaller. I ordered the lemon linguine with chicken which is normally my favorite. The pasta was overcooked. It was pretty dry and it came cold. Normally it comes HOT with the other plastic containers fyi. The chicken was not juicy as always not sure what happened if it's a one off, but maybe it's time to stop ordering from this place? They have a parking lot just behind their restaurant, but there wasnt anyone to attend the lot when we got in. I didnt realize the free parking until it was too late. Majority of the reviews on here is correct. I chose to order ice tea because it came with refills. Sodas were in cans and water came in bottles. The size of the AYCE plates began super hefty (can easily be eaten with 2 people), then the second and on plates were of smaller portion sizes. I didnt ask if we could get a smaller size like someone else suggested. The "server" was super rude. I asked for ice tea and then was about to give him my appetizer order and he rudely said "let's get the drinks first". He was using a hand held device to take our order. We placed our order slightly after 4pm. Pesto Tortellini (9/10), fried ravoli (9/10), chicken strips and fries (5/10), cheesy garlic toast (10/10), and regular garlic toast (10/10) to start off. My party was trickling in every 20 minutes or so. About 30 minutes in, I asked the server where some of the dishes are because it hasnt come out yet. I was rudely given "its coming" without checking what items we were missing. The next order was placed and we got that before we got the missing items. Ive tried flagging down the server, but he was busy with other tables. The AYCE part was a little tough. It takes a really long time for pastas to come out because it was made to order. My friend asked for the next plate knowing that in mind and another staff member said, let's wait til you finish the plate. I was in disbelief when that was said to him. About an hour has passed, I found someone else to check for the missing orders. The order never got put in! I had to flag so many people to get some refills for our table. Sometimes the price is too good to be true, and this case - it is. Pasta Amore gets people in the door with $13.99 unlimited pasta, clearly trying to capitalize on the virality of Olive Garden's never ending pasta. I figured I would rather support local by trying Pasta Amore, but maybe we should leave it to the pros at the Garden. When we entered the restaurant at 7:30 on a Thursday, we were only the second table seated. We placed our order, and after the garlic bread arrived, we asked for water. Our waiter informed us that their water filter was broken so they couldn't give us tap water. We opted for the First Street water bottles which they charged $1.50 for. But..... don't you need clean water to cook?! It was too late and we already ordered so we stuck it out. The pasta was not revolutionary, but we didn't expect exemplary food. We were there for the vibes and AYCE pasta! I started with the spicy vodka rigatoni which was an incredibly thick sauce and actually fairly spicy. Throughout the night, I tasted the pesto (flavorful and oily), the marinara (perhaps the winner, most classic taste without making me feel ill), the pomodoro (fresh!), arrabiata (probably in my top 2 or 3 sauces), the alfredo (just tasted like cream), and the lemon cream sauce (just tasted like the alfredo with a hefty portion of bottled lemon juice). Our waiter did not come back often, and our dinner lasted over 2 hours, for 3 rounds of pasta. The food came out very quickly after we ordered, but it took forever to get our waiter's attention. I rarely write lower rated reviews, but I want to be honest, this place is overhyped. The price is really good for food on the Melrose Strip, but that's just about where it ends. Food was about average, and for a place that advertises themselves as "All-You-Can-Eat", they overportion their plates to the point where you almost couldn't even finish your first round. They also mischarged my boyfriend at the end of our meal for a normal priced entree instead of the advertised buffet price. The amount of food they serve is double to triple that of a standard serving size of a box of pasta. Pasta is a heavy, filling, and cheap carbohydrate. If I were paying a-la-carte, this is something I wouldn't be commenting on, because who doesn't love big portions? But as others have said, the point of AYCE is to experience variety, which just isn't possible here in my experience. Taste wise, it wasn't bad, I'd say mid tier. I believe they make their sauces from scratch. I got the gnocchi, which was okay, the pasta itself was kind of bland and didn't hold the sauce very well but had decent flavor. My boyfriend's chicken parm was slightly overcooked but he seemed to enjoy it. He also ended up getting spaghetti & meatballs, which you could tell were frozen and not the best quality. Their alfredo cream sauce was also pretty good so I'll give it that. We didn't have much to say about the food during/after our meal because it was just okay. After reading the reviews on here and Google, I was worried about getting charged an additional $5 for not finishing our plates. We were all force feeding ourselves and stuffing our faces because of the warnings from others online. This is also where we discovered this place is apparently TikTok famous-- though we found Pasta Amore simply by walking by their sign advertising $14 AYCE pasta. Atmosphere was almost club/lounge-like, which I wouldn't usually expect for a place that serves Italian-adjacent food but we didn't hate it. Lots of colorful flashing lights and edm for their music of choice. Definitely an atmosphere curated for social media promotion, hence the apparent TikTok virality. Overall, would any of us eat here again? Honestly no. This is one of those places where I'd really take the lower reviews (hopefully including mine) into consideration. Service was lovely but nothing about our experience was particularly memorable. The place has a lot of potential, as AYCE pasta is kind of uncommon in LA (other than Olive Garden, which is way better) and they're relatively new. Let's start with our service, Francisco was very helpful at explaining how everything works as this was our first time here. He was very friendly, kind and kept on checking on our table frequently as well as the others. He took the time to explain all the questions we had about the dishes and he made the experience amazing overall. This establishment should be very happy to have him as an employee that goes above and beyond for their costumers. If you want to experience his service he is here everyday but Mondays. As for the ambience, the place was clean, they had twinkling lights, and nice music. It was easy to maintain a conversation and not had to scream over each other. The food was great! Came here because of the $13.99 all-you-can-eat promo. The idea sounded great, but the way it's executed doesn't really work. Like someone else mentioned, the whole point of all-you-can-eat is trying different things. That's not really possible here. The portions are huge, which might sound like a good thing, but it ends up limiting you to maybe one or two dishes max. When I first sat down, service was really slow. I had to ask three times before I even got a glass of water. Not a great start. When I finally ordered, I asked if I could try two half portions. The server said that would be fine. I figured two halves would equal one full portion, so I wouldn't risk getting charged the extra $5 if I couldn't finish. The first dish, spicy rigatoni, came out and it actually was a half portion. It was decent. A little spicy, nice sauce. But then the second dish, chicken parm, was a full plate. It was massive. The spaghetti was bland and the chicken was dry. There was no way I could finish it. Even though I was told I'd get two half portions, they still charged me the extra $5 for not finishing the second dish. It just left a bad taste. I've visited a few times and ordered food to go, and honestly everything has been delicious. They're serving hearty, comforting Italian classics at a super reasonable price, and you're getting SO MUCH food. The AYCE nature makes this spot great for sharing, so if you have a big group and want to split dishes/try lots of different things, this format makes it really easy. My favorite is the spicy vodka rigatoni, which has a savory, silky sauce that is just to die for. The pesto penne has also become a go-to if you want something on the lighter/fresher side. In my experience, service is fairly fast. You are kind of tucked off to the side in their dining room away from the main counter, so you just have to be on it when it comes to touching base with your server/ordering more dishes. Three stars mostly on behalf of my family. Who enjoyed the food more than I did. The food is decent. If I came back with my family it would only be because of that. Other than that, the customer service is terrible. The wait time is even worse. Unless you're seemingly a influencer. Then of course they tend to you and allow you to take home leftover food. Which is exactly what I saw them do to another couple who was there with a tripod and ring light. In all the years I've lived in the neighborhood. I've seen a handful of places come and go. Would give 0 stars if I could. You walk in and you can see the employees making the pasta. There were about 6 people cooking, everyone had on gloves except for the ONE PERSON making the pasta. Ok, in many ways, this place surprised me--not always in a good way. On Melrose, it sits in the middle of tatoo parlors and the Groundlings theater. Inside, it's pretty nondescript --the beautiful pictures of Italian villas and the Italian coast only made the fake plants in the walls and the string of neon lights stand out in stark contrast--but it came highly recommended by a friend so we figured we'd try it. The Arnold Palmer was the best drink on the menu, and it was very good. This boded well for the meal. They should get a liquor license so they can serve vodka --it would make a killer twister Palmer. You pull up the menu from a QR code. The highlight of the menu is the all you can eat pasta. judging by the size of the servings (regular plates) you probably aren't likely to eat more than two pastas dishes, but when in Rome....we ordered the calamari which was disappointing. The picture is of lightly battered calamari, which is my go to appetizer, but these came out over cooked, over-battered and quite hard. The seasoning on it (just a hint of spice) was good, but it was so unappetizing and unappealing because it was rock-hard. I ordered the Greek Salad--didn't think I was hungry enough for AYCE pasta, but E decided to try it. I ordered a side of meatballs for protein, and again they disappointed. I was envisioning two large meatballs in sauce--what I got were tiny (smaller than quarters) meatballs that were dry. E's first dish was the chicken fettuccini Alfredo . The Greek salad was very good: fresh greens, celery, onions, tomatoes, red and yellow peppers, cucumbers, black olives, and crumbled feta. The dressing was light but a tad more dressing than I would have liked, but it was very tasty overall. E's fettuccini was good--well-cooked pasta, but not truly al dente, a tasty creamy sauce and topped with chicken breast. E seemed to enjoy it immensely. Next she ordered the angel hair pomodoro. A heaping plate of pasta arrived and I watched her eat it in fascination. Would she finish this giant plate of pasta? It smelled very fresh, with tomatoes and basil and grated cheese. She enjoyed this dish too, though the size of the serving defeated her. All in all, a good experience, but I don't think I would give it 4 stars. Worst customer service ever! Sinful Francisco gave us wicked customer service. Number 1, we didn't get told water costs money until we opened and already drank half the bottle. Also took us about 25 minutes sitting until he asked us for our drink order. Number 2, we searched for our orders on the online menu that nothing was out of order until he came up to us as we were ordering which he then told us that half the menu is out of order. As there was only 1 other table in the restaurant. Number 3, he took our orders with AirPod headphones like what an absolute vile man. Number 4, due to the AirPods headphones messed up our order resulting in getting an extra spaghetti with chicken and after we explained we didn't order chicken on spaghetti we got it on something else he took it to the corner and picked the chicken off with his finger and put it on a separate plate and gave it to us leaving the spaghetti sitting on his cart. Number 5, I asked for a second round spaghetti he got the spaghetti that was sitting on his cart and put extra scoops on the spaghetti and then proceeded to hand me the infected pasta hoping the extra scoops will result in me paying the "waste" fee. Unfortunately for him the enemy was closer than he thinks because I ate all of that damn pasta. Number 6, he then came with the bill while he was on call on his AirPods and tried charging us for spaghetti we never ordered thinking we were naive teenagers. I wish I had a better experience coming here but that wasn't the case on Friday night at 8:40pm. Came to the restaurant to try the viral AYCE pasta. There's a parking lot in the back for $12 plus $3 for credit card BUT it's free if you eat at the restaurant (there are so signs whatsoever about this so it's unfortunate that I found out AFTER paying the $15). The super super friendly host asked if I had a reservation and since I didn't, he asked if I was willing to wait a bit. Considering that I paid for parking and was super hungry, I was okay with it. We ended up only waiting 20 minutes (9pm) to get seated but the other server informed us that they wouldn't be able to take our order right away, which is fine--since we were able to get a table. We got our waters right away but didn't end up being able to order until 9:25pm. At the same time, a couple sat down at the table next to us and they were able to order their food right away. We ordered the pesto penne and chicken Alfredo. By the time 9:55pm came, the couple NEXT to us, received the same exact order as us but our food was nowhere to be found. It's like the servers knew they messed up because they came back to us and said, "only a couple minutes longer." Considering the way the kitchen is setup, you can see the pastas clearly being made in the window. Our food was also nowhere to be found on the table to be served nor was even on the stove!!! There was nothing even cooking on the stovetop. At this time, the server saw I was looking and he explained "a couple more minutes" again. But with absolutely nothing cooking and waiting an hour and 20 minutes for NOTHING, I decided to walk out.
