Salmon, coleslaw, tartar sauce (motor oil) and lemon wedges
    Suavelita C.

I'm beginning to lose my faith in good places to eat. This place used to be so good but, maybe it's what I ordered, or didn't order. As I was browsing the menu a customer was picking up 3 clam chowders. So, I thought and had a taste for creamy clam chowder. Excitedly I order. I get the salmon plate. Trying to eat healthier I opted for coleslaw instead of fries. I originally ordered a clam chowder on the side but the cashier said you can get it as one of your sides. Alright cool. I can't wait to get home. I have it planned out. I'm gonna eat the creamy clam chowder first and then the salmon and slaw a little bit later. I opened the bag to this tiny container and the soup in a brown paper bag. I opened the brown paper bag salivating thinking I'm about to have some delicious CREAMY CLAM CHOWDER. Only to find a tomato base looking soup with fish, vegetables and grease. Not again. I call and the guy says it's not New England clam chowder but manhattan clam chowder. I don't remember reading that all I seen was clam chowder. So I could wring in my frustration of not getting what I wanted. So if you're looking for creamy clam chowder you won't get it from here. The tartar sauce tastes like motor oil and the coleslaw is bland and not very tasty. It should actually be free and automatically included with the meal. The fish had no flavor whatsoever. You get a decent sized piece of fish. Will I ever go back...heck no! I should have just went to get an oxtail plate from Boukas for the same $30 I spent on this disappointing meal. And the center of the salmon was not cooked all the way.

    GRILLED FISH TACO PLATE *

I had the fish taco plate. The taco were excellent; very fresh fish with French fries than we could eat over a week. Wife has fish burger; she said it was delicious. Mother had fish and chips. The crust was hard for her to chew, but otherwise loved it main criticism: table top was sticky.

The service is great and upon walking in we were greeted immediately. Our server was nice and had a bunch of recommendations which made it slightly harder for us to decide what to get hahah. We decided to get the most popular dishes which makes this place recognized! We started with the gem Caesar salad which was great! It's like a spicy Caesar salad and it was not dry at all - very well seasoned and sauced. We then got the spicy fusilli which is the must have pasta that I hear people rave out. It was yummy!! Not too spicy but the flavor is solid and pasta is perfectly a la dente. We then ordered the mushroom pizza which again was good! Nothing out of this world but it was enjoyable. Our server asked if we wanted, parm, chili oil and a side of ranch and couldn't resist. We got all 3 and I would highly recommend. The chili oil is delicious and elevates the pizza. The only reason I'm taking a star off the rating is the price of the food. I find it extremely expensive for pasta and pizza. The salad was ~$18 and the pasta was ~$24. I would understand it more if the portions were bigger but they are on the smaller side. Despite the price of the food, everything was good! They have some coloring sheets which is a cute way to pass time while waiting for your food and great music in the restaurant which made it fun and casual. I would come back but not sure how often.

$24 for this?! I expected more from the famous spicy fusilli…read more The vodka sauce was pleasantly spicy and tomato-ey and zingy, but still not the best or most addictive vodka sauce I've had. The main offense was how mediocre the pasta was. It tasted like it came out of a box. A far cry from the amazing pillowy soft and fragrant fresh pasta I've had at places like Maccheroni Republic. My mistake for going to a 2010s Instagram fave midway through the 2020s (when did that happen?). No wonder most of the clientele I saw were wealthy looking older folks: the millennial foodies have moved on. And ofc this place has Aesop hand soap in the bathroom.

Meaning they have so many ingredients are so packed with deliciousness that I always need a bunch of napkins as an egg oozes out or arugula falls all over. That being said, some highlights of things I've had are their meatball sub that was 1000% better than anything you'd get from Subway. I've also tried the pastrami sandwich and loved it. I absolutely love the Grappa di Mattina with Fresh-Cracked Eggs, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Fresh Tomato, Avocado, Arugula and Aioli on Sourdough Toast! The only thing that was disappointing was the bread got very soggy and the sandwich kind of fell apart when eating it. So eat all their sandwiches asap after ordering, preferably when still in the shop. Their chocolate chip cookies are a great deal at 4 for $6.50 and are solid 4 star cookies.
