Multiple guests told us that the food was some of the best they'd ever had at a wedding. Cecile, the events manager, was incredibly responsive and detail-oriented, and she was happy to work with us in accommodating our guests' dietary restrictions and navigating the neighborhood noise restrictions. At the wedding itself, the staff were all warm and helpful and made things run smoothly. When I forgot my bridal bouquet, the staff rescued it and had it ready for my mother to pick up the next day. Our wedding was 75 people, and we had plenty of room to have everyone seated for the ceremony and dinner, plus space for a dance floor. We met with Cecile a few days before to walk through our plan, which she had clearly read through carefully, and she and her team were able to execute everything with no issues. In many ways, she acted like a day-of coordinator for us, which meant another big expense saved. It's a gorgeous space for an event with a great history, the food is delicious, and the staff are fantastic. What more can you want?

Anytime we needed something like boxes, extra help, or corrections to food, we kinda had to wave down bus boys or random staff members passing by. A few more table check ins would've made the experience so much better because the food itself truly deserves top tier service. You get two meaty, nice size oxtails that are fall off the bone tender 10/10. I loved the Collared greens with a slight vinegary kick to them 9/10. The Mac and cheese was delicious as well. This is a hard dish to rate, because I think mind is better, but I'll give it a 8/10! One of my friends got a Grilled Watermelon Salad. I tasted it, and surprisingly it was delicious. 9/10. One day when I need to be watching my weight more closely (which is now) I would consider getting this. The portions were good, enough to take home for another meal or to share. The wait staff was great! Very pleasant and on time with our food. The prices are fair in this high priced market. Unfortunately when I rate any place I go, I also include how convenient it is to get there. I am a driver and drive just about everywhere I go. I would not recommend driving to this location. It is very busy, and parking your car is at a minimum. They do have parking lots that you will have to pay for and walk a little ways. I would probably get a Uber next time. I recently visited Honey's Sit 'n Eat and witnessed something that truly stood out to me…read more While we were there, a man who appeared to be homeless came in and stood by the register. I paid attention to how the staff would handle the situation. After helping the current customer, the cashier gave him a cup of juice. I didn't see any payment, so I assumed it was offered to him. As he stepped outside, I asked my husband to check if he wanted something to eat. When my husband came back, he told me he had given him money. While that was kind, I honestly would have preferred to get him food myself just to make sure he actually ate. A few minutes later, the man came back in and sat at the counter. At first, I didn't see anyone approach him, but shortly after, the staff brought him a bag with food. I'm not sure if he ordered through the take out window then came in, paid the waiter, or if it was provided to him, but either way, it meant a lot to see. He took his food and left. What stood out most was that the staff didn't ignore him, rush him out, or treat him like he didn't belong. At one point, I even heard a staff member ask if he had received his juice, which made me think this wasn't their first interaction with him. In a world where people are often overlooked or dismissed, it meant a lot to see a business show simple human kindness. Treating people with dignity and empathy shouldn't be rare--but unfortunately, it often is. For that alone, Honey's Sit 'n Eat deserves recognition. Oh... and the food is always great!

It's especially great with kids -- they have a solid kids menu and plenty of side options, which makes it easier to find something for little ones. My 4-year-old loves it, which is always a win. That said, it's almost always packed, especially on weekend mornings, so expect a crowd. Service can be a bit hit or miss during those busy times. Overall, still a dependable breakfast spot with great food and a family-friendly vibe.

I'm not sure why I waited so long to try the chicken at Bud and Marilyn's, but better late than never! They serve a LARGE 1/2 chicken. I started with the thigh. I was smitten by the first bite. I was told the chicken is soaked in a buttermilk brine for 24-48 hours - dipped in a buttermilk dredge - covered with their 'secret recipe' seasoned flour - and fried in a 'pressure fryer' that cooks the chicken in 12 minutes. It was perfectly fried - so crispy - the texture and seasoning of the exterior coating was incredible. The chicken was tender and juicy - the thigh was the juiciest - I didn't get to try the drumstick as I was too full! I had the thigh and 1/2 the breast. The breast is my favorite and I savored each large delicious piece I broke apart. It's important to pick up the chicken and eat it by hand - I did cut mine in half for a picture - but didn't use a fork to eat it - you lose the 'panache'of the meal. I didn't use the hot sauce served with the chicken - I brought my own bottle of honey and poured it over the chicken and biscuits. It was heavenly! Which brings me to the Biscuits! The dish comes with 2 large fluffy buttermilk biscuits - they were golden brown on the outside and tender and fluffy on the inside! They had such a rich, buttery flavor. I took several pieces of chicken and layered them on pieces of biscuit, drizzled with honey! It was truly a 5 star fried chicken and biscuit dinner!
