    Just waiting for my order
    Beloved H.

This is my go to place on a Friday after work. I like this place! They don't stay open late compared to other restaurants. They close around 6pm on a Friday couple of times I made it just in time and couple of times they served me after telling me they were closed. They saved me from having to fix dinner for myself after 10 hour work day. I'm a fan of the banana pudding, potato salad and the fried shrimp (it taste like mine). They seem to always have a smile on there faces. What I'm not a fan of is the string beans, collar greens to me they taste like they are out the can vegetable, for the people that eat can food I guess it's fine for you but I have a thing against can food. Fried Chicken is pretty good as well. The fried Whiting has a great taste even tho it's not fresh whiting I believe it's the whiting in a bag. This place isn't expensive.

Tried this place on a whim while searching for lunch on a random Wednesday. Jamil's happened to be within a 5 minute driving distance into Philly which was a perfect distance for my lunch pickup. I got the Swai platter and it was perfectly fried and seasoned. The yams were a solid 8/10. They were sweet but not over seasoned with nutmeg or cinnamon. The macaroni was decent but not as good as the yams so I'd say 7/10. I tried my daughter's stuffed salmon and the salmon was tender. The crab stuffing was well seasoned but it was over-mixed. You end up losing the small lumps or crabs and are left with a stringy consistency. I got a half and half to drink and it was slapping. Honestly made me feel like I was back in Maryland for a minute. We'll definitely be back.

I ordered through DD, and it arrived hot and on time. Everything was delicious. I had the whiting and shrimp platter with greens, seafood salad n a side of Mac n cheese. The side of mac for $5 was skimpy for the price but was good. I definitely support Black owned businesses if food is good. Overall, I recommend and will order again.

Let me start with the positive... the swai is really good... but that's it. The greens have no taste at all. No salt, nothing. The seafood salad is giving mayonnaise with lite old bay (because I added additional old bay). There was not one piece of shrimp or crabmeat in my seafood salad. I wanted to love this place because it's black owned! Hopefully it gets better over time.

Food was delicious! Reminded me of my grandmas food! The fish was fried perfect and not oily and I was shocked that I liked the potato salad b/c I only like my moms lol.

Wow! I became aware of this restaurant, because one of my…read moredaughters said she wanted to visit this eatery during a planned trip to Philadelphia. I read reviews and they were somewhat mixed, but I put my faith in the Elites, who were on point. I ordered the fried fish, mac and cheese, and candied yams. The portions were enormous and more than I could eat alone. My daughter ordered the same sides, but had the bbq chicken bites, and an extra side of seafood salad. My fish was not greasy at all, and the cornmeal crust was light and crispy. It wasn't over seasoned and was delicious. The cinnamon and nutmeg in the candied yams were well balanced and reminiscent of a southern Thanksgiving dinner... a little sweet, but yummy nonetheless. The macaroni and cheese was also as Thanksgiving worthy and beyond. I tasted a chicken bite, and wished I had ordered those too... my eyes are truly bigger than my stomach lol. I liked the seafood salad, but if I lived in Philly, I would order it to accompany a great big mixed green salad. It holds its own and for me, doesn't need to be a side dish. It was an honor to visit Ms. Saud's restaurant, and contribute to her mission

My spouse recently recommended it one night, and we finally decided to give it a try. At first, I thought the meal was a bit pricey, but I have to admit--it was definitely tasty and the portion size was solid. You get a good amount of food for what you pay for. I'll definitely be going back when I'm in the mood for some good fried chicken.

Corinne's Place - Worth the Toll and Then Some…read more Food Quality & Taste Let's start here because this is the heart of the experience. The food was delicious. The kind of delicious that makes you pause mid-bite and smile. Everything tasted like home--like your mom or grandmom was in the kitchen, apron on, seasoning from the soul. We had the mac and cheese, potato salad, and cabbage, and everything delivered comfort, warmth, and love. And listen... Mom has already requested a return trip, which should tell you everything you need to know. Cuz my Momma don't play about her food. Value for the Price Let's face it soul food aint cheap. Plus, you're not just paying for food--you're paying for an experience that feeds your spirit as much as your stomach. Cleanliness The space was clean, well-kept, and inviting. Cozy without feeling cramped, and comfortable in a way that makes you want to sit, eat, and take it all in. Customer Service Warm. Friendly. Genuine. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. And the highlight? Meeting the owner, Ms. Corinne herself. She and my mom talked like they were old friends catching up, which honestly felt very on-brand for this place. Wait Time & Convenience No issues here. Parking is street parking--very similar to parking on a busy Philly street, so nothing shocking or stressful if you're used to city life. Once inside, everything flowed smoothly. We were seated quickly. Presentation & Atmosphere The atmosphere is intimate, cozy, and full of history. Pictures line the walls--Ms. Corinne, her family, and famous faces--which makes the space feel personal and lived-in. It's the kind of place where stories live in the walls. Red Flags or Warnings No real red flags. Just know it's an intimate setting--not huge--but honestly, anyone can come in and enjoy it comfortably. Overall: Corinne's Place is more than a restaurant--it's a memory, a feeling, and a reminder of what good food is supposed to do. It fills you up, warms you, and makes you want to come back. My stamp on this place is... "Mass appeal." Perfect for family, solo visits, out-of-town guests, or anyone craving a real taste of home.

I typically will get fried chicken and shrimp platter, which is JUST PERFECT. Depending on how much you eat for me, a platter lasts me for 2 meals! For people who know WHY, their wings are the right size for a normal, non hormone type healthy chicken. I asked about them and they source their wings from farms that still grow chicken without reliance on hormones that make them grow too fast and that end up with a lot of extra fat on them. NORMAL size wings. Even in grocery stores I won't buy those extra large ones. Their string beans are DELIGHTFUL and fresh, with loads of fresh garlic. The greens are delicious, the potato salad is closest (for a restaurant) to what I grew up with - meaning they make it while the potatoes are still hot. When the potato salad is made with cooked cold potatoes, they don't absorb any of the seasonings which is how you can tell. They also have their own blended lemonade! Try to get there before it's sold out! I've ordered their party sized family meals before when I suddenly expected company and didn't have time to cook. Those are a great deal and much better tasting than the chain store variety foods! Fresh and DELICIOUS! One of my personal favorite restaurants!
