I was delighted to find a new soul food eatery in my area through Uber eats so I decided to give Jamils Cafe a try. I made my choice to try them based on how their menu was advertised and the high ratings it had received from previous consumers, but what was most important to me was to patronize community endeavors. My order called for a fish sandwich, jerk/ bbq wings, salmon, fried shrimp and various side dishes. I always taste the sides first so that I can experience the kind of attention and care that is present. Usually if the sides don't taste good that means there was no care in preparing the main dish. Luckily for me this was not the case except for my salmon. All of my sides where packaged as requested and tasted incredibly good especially the potato salad and collard greens. ...
YES!!!
That good!
My fish and shrimp were prepared so well they never had a chance once the container was opened. I inhaled that meal with the biggest grin on my face. My wings had to be shared due to The unappetizing way my fiancé's salmon was prepared and presented. That was the only sour note in what I considered to be a really good portioned & extremely well prepared meal. I wish I could have given more stars but the salmon was a travesty I was surprised it was allowed to be in the same bag as those other masterpieces that were created. I am going to try Jamils again but after I get over that salmon image. My hope is that they will be my go to soul food experience for the future. read more
