After getting my weekly crab pan from Saud's, I decided to stop by Pleasure Platters since she is not too far away. Upon entering, I was greeted by Kendall( hope I spell her name correctly). She gives a very friendly vibe. She was so patient with me and my hubby since this is our first time. Very pleasant to talk with, customer service is definitely top notch. We end up ordering the 12 Colossal Fried Shrimp platter with the fries and seaslaw, Lobster Bisque, #2A steamed seafood combo, and Paradise Punch. Fresh seafood takes a minute to cook, do arrive with time on your hands. We had time today, we didn't mind the wait. When I got my Paradise Punch, that drink is so god darn pretty. I took a sip and I order another one along with Pecan cake and strawberry cake lol. The Paradise Punch was that good! The moment we got home, we immediately dig in lol. Hubby enjoys his Lobster bisque and Colossal Shrimp Platter. He says she got one of the best tasting Lobster Bisque in Philly area. The shrimp platter were tasty as well. Usually steam seafood platters are quite salty, not this one! Pleasure Platters seafood platters are seasoned very well and buttery. I ask for extra butter, but Kendall says to trust her, my platter gonna have too much butter lol. Actually her platter has the right amount of butter for me bc I'm a butter lover lol. We wanted potatoe salad with 2 platters but cold salads can't br added to the platter. Called in my order and was told to give them 15-20 minutes and this place is CASH ONLY. Platter came to about $52. I observed a male who appeared to be the cook, 2 females and the cashier. The kitchen area looked too clean for food to have been prepared there but I did observed the yams being pulled out of the over whole there. Noticed an area that held the cold salads. Pictures on the walls, a TV and a few tables and chair inside. The yams were good but could've been cooked down a bit more as some pieces were hard. The mac and cheese was great. The fried fish was perfectly fried, I could've used more seasoning in the batter. The fried fish was good and seasoned well. I noticed they also sold drinks, but I wasn't expecting to pay this amount for lunch, so I decided to go without drinks.

Service: family run black owned business. They are very customer focused and are happy to customize your platters. They offer drinks, dessert and different soul food: turkey wings is a popular one. My favorite are their Halal wings which are cooked just right with some hot sauce and garlic and I am so happy. I don't even get home before I've eaten most of them. Thankfully they did, and I headed over to pick up my order. A few years ago, parking was much easier because there was a parking lot available. Since then, the lot was purchased along with the daycare next door, so parking is definitely more challenging now. Street parking is limited, which is probably my biggest complaint. Luckily, I was only running in to grab my food. The gentleman who is usually there is always accommodating and friendly. I don't know his name, he may be the owner but he has consistently provided great customer service every time I've visited. I ordered the liver with rice and beans and gravy. One thing I absolutely love is the amount of onions they put on the liver. If you're an onion lover like I am, you'll appreciate that!! My only suggestion and it's not a deal breaker at allis that I wish the liver was sliced thinner and cut into smaller pieces. That's how I prepare it at home because I find it stays extra tender that way. To be fair, the liver here is never tough, and it's always cooked well. I just personally prefer thinner slices and smaller pieces, so next time I'll probably ask if they can prepare it that way. I do think the restaurant could improve the atmosphere. The building feels older, and when you walk in there is a musty, damp smell that can be a bit of a turnoff. It seems like an older building that has been updated over the years, but I think adding air purifiers, better ventilation, or something to freshen the space would make a big difference in the overall dining experience. Now let's talk about the price. The last time I ordered was quite a while ago, so when they told me it was $24, I almost passed out! But I was already there, hungry, and craving liver, so I paid it. Once I got home, I saw that I had about two and a half pieces. While $24 isn't something I'll spend every week, it's definitely worth it when I'm craving liver and don't feel like cooking it myself. They also have a dine-in area if you'd rather eat there than take your food to go. Overall, the food was good, the service was friendly, and Moonlight continues to be one of the few places where I can reliably find liver when I'm craving it. I'll definitely be back and next time I'll be asking for my liver sliced a little thinner and cut into pieces so that I don't have to spend time doing that while my food is getting cold.

That said, the food is definitely worth it if you've got the patience to wait. They are coming back on portion size because I noticed last time I got a platter the depth of the platters that they are using are very low, which make your portions also so low overall still good place. Three stars for the food of reason why I didn't give the other two stars it's because of the wait time , portion , and alertness to getting orders completed. No reason you should be in life 10 minutes if there's only one person in front of you.
