Combination Seafood Platter
Alexis M.

Omg! How does the seafood from here taste better than , actual seafood based restaurants ?!! It was freshly made and hot . The Potato salad almost taste like mines so it's great lol . The rice was dry but good , should have asked for ox tail gravy and lastly the crab cake has a lil too much filler needs more crab taste good though . I enjoyed my platter for the first time and will definitely be back , don't change a thing moonlight except add a lil moisture or more coconut milk to the rice

My cousin and Aunt said they were getting $1 shrimp and that the place they go to, have good shrimp. I said ok. I'l try. Parking: lot Atmosphere: it's a bar with an area off to.the side if you want to dine in. The music is a little loud so I couldn't hear the server. Note: you cannot order shrimp over phone and they cook them. You have to come to the restaurant and place your order. Service: the woman who assisted us must not like her job because she didn't greet us or smile. I said thanks, have a good night and she just turned and walked away. Food: shrimp had no taste. I said no taste. They butterfly them. The greens had a pretty good flavor. The candied yams were good. A little loose the sauce but good. If you don't like sweets these won't be for you. I had to come home and season my shrimp and they still weren't good. The shrimp need to be marinated to allow the seasoning to set in. The cocktail sauce was watery. Overall all, I would not make a trip back just for greens and yams. I gave them 3 stars because the sides were good. Hope they.start seasoning the shrimp. Enjoy

I ordered the fried shrimp and a Ting. They didn't clean the shrimp. Not 1 or 2, NONE were clean. As for the Ting..not even close. Don't waste your money.

This is a bar/restaurant that offers authentic jamaican cuisine. The food is pretty good--hearty portions and flavorful. I ordered the medium jerk chicken with rice and beans and cabbage for my sides. My mom ordered a medium stewed chicken with the same sides; and since she couldn't decide between getting chicken or fish, she ordered a side of fish which tasted good also. The grand total was $25. Because of the large portions, I'll have leftovers for dinner!! As far as the environment, it very much resembles a jamaican restaurant with the dimmed lighting, decor, and reggae music playing with a good mix of r&b and oldies. The staff is friendly and seem to share a family-like closeness. Every year around Thanksgiving, they host a customer appreciation night where you can dine in and and enjoy dinner for free. I really think this is a nice gesture and makes me feel good patronising them. It may seem a little sketchy from the outside, but it is nice and safe on the inside! There's plenty places to park, which is also a plus.

Sid Booker Shrimp at 2/3 the price. Shrimp are big. Service is a little slow at peak hours, but have a Red Stripe while you wait.

Oxtails taste sweet and needed salt and the right base for the sauce..was lacking the appropriate flavor profile. The rice tasted like basmati which is cool for Indian cuisines but usually with dishes like Oxtails or Jerk Chicken I'd expect red beans and white grain rice cooked in coconut milk for the flavor profile. Mussels are delicious, they just don't give you a lot of them if you go during any of their prefixed menu offerings. Coconut shrimp are good. Carrot cake was one of the best I've tasted in a long time. Even if your not a fan of carrot cake I think you'll enjoy. There weren't big chunks of fruit or nuts inside. It was layered, fluffy, moist, cream cheese icing spot on, just really spot on. I could have ordered a cake to go and left the food. Drinks are pricey for what you get in return. Some of the drinks are watered down, like their "Sex on the Boat." They give it to you in this cute boat shaped dish with a straw with flashing lights (photo/vid attached) but there's a ton of ice and not much alcohol or flavor. You also have to wait for your entire party before ordering appetizers. Very strange to me. Most places will allow you to order drinks and appetizers while you wait for the rest of your party. Also be mindful that there's an 18% charge for credit card. If that bothers you be prepared to bring cash. They typically will only allow you to split the check two ways so for larger parties it's best to bring cash to avoid confusion when everyone is paying for themselves.

I'm happy to report, it was very very good! Some things to note: They take cash only. They have an ATM inside just in case, but make sure you have cash only you before you go. Make sure you pay attention when traveling to this establishment, as there are many intersections, one way streets, and streets that go from two to one lane. Also, there may be someone who will ask you to get them some food. Once we parked the car, we heard the reggae music coming from their front door. You can't miss it. The menu is on the wall, as well as being taped down to the counter by the order window. If they're out of something they will let you know before you order. When I went they were out of oxtail (a highly sought after dish in Caribbean cuisine). I had the jerk chicken with collard greens, white rice, and macaroni and cheese. My brother ordered the fried whiting, but I guess she didn't hear him correctly (trust me the music there is quite loud inside even though it's even louder outside), because he got the same thing I did. Now, we drove home, the car smelling amazing, and I forgot to take some photos for this review. But even so, I will definitely be back. The food was excellent, the prices were decent, and the service was fast. If you're looking for an adventure, check out Jamaican D's!

The two chosen sides were mach and cheese and collard greens. The short ribs were incredibly tender and had a nice flavor. They were a little salty for my taste, but not by much. The jerk chicken was very undercooked. It was all red inside, once I took a bite. I almost vomited. The plantains were hard as a rock, not sweet at all. Oh, don't get me started with the potato salad, omg! The potato salad was nasty.... I didn't even touch it. When I opened the container, it was all watery looking thing, I don't know how else to explain it, but it was more like soup that potato salad. It's like they put water, cream and tiny potatoes in a blender and blended it.
