Medium Oxtail with sides of rice and beans, plantains, and extra gravy.

Medium Oxtail with sides of rice and beans, plantains, and extra gravy was delicious!

Curry Salmon, Mac & Cheese, Candied Yams

Stumbled upon this spot heading back to Philly. Service wasn't the quickest as it took me 10 mins just to place an order. Finally placed my order spent over $40 which was abnormally high compared to Jamaican restaurants I've been to all over the country total was 42.75 after being forced to pay .75 cent for using my card... I ordered curry salmon which was made to order initially was no problem was told it would be 20 mins... Ended up taking 45mins no apology or anything... Total time Spent in the restaurant was 55min... Food was ok portion size was ok you get more of one side than the other I asked why he said that just how it is here... Speed of service and the price point was an issue here... I wouldn't return

Oxtails rice and macaroni for 19.90

Being annoyed is an understatement. I went to do a pick up and granted we are in the middle of social distancing. The sign says to call before entering. I have called for 10 mins to no answer. So I ordered via Uber eats. Never again. This macaroni looks and taste like box macaroni with added cheese. A mess. The oxtail in which I asked for extra gravy.....I got one full oxtail and the rest was pieces and bones for 19.90. Rice was dryer than Sahara desert. Not a lick of gravy on it. The greens. I ordered a small. It looks like they gave me the bottom of the bowl......all stems. Then I got bbq chicken and yams. Bad combo. My yams are littered with bbq sauce and my chicken is red in the inside. The worst way to spend $40 in food. Im really mad at the fact that they closing time is 8pm.....so I can't even return this mess. I will never come back. Sorry not sorry.!

I ordered the curry chicken and Mac and cheese and sweet potatoes. The curry chicken was phenomenal but the Mac and cheese was nasty. You don't even get cheese it's just all noodle. And the sweet yams were whipped instead of hard yams. I will give another side another chance but based on the food today I do not like.

Curry shrimp & rice .... Where is my sauce ?!!!
Gevis V.

Beware ! They WILL serve you unripe plantain and say they don't pay ripeness any mind. They served me dry rice after i specifically asked for jerk sauce on my rice. All this dry rice ?! Bruh ! Also , the girl who took my call must have been hard of hearing because she forgot to remember my sauce and spelled my name completely wrong... And i spent $30 on a weak a** meal. Screw them.!

I bumped into the owner, Shane, who I met for the first time; he mentioned the restaurant and suggested that I check it out. Like I stated, I'd been hearing about this place for a while so I drove straight there after a busy day at work. I was famished! When I got there I was greeted by a pleasant staff, especially Carlos, who was patient with me while I took my time deciding what to get. I ordered, for myself, -curried goat, rice & peas (red beans & rice) and ripe plantains, and for my daughter, -oxtails with rice & peas The wait time was fair, the presentation of the food (in the to go box) was really nice and the aroma was pretty damn inviting. I could hardly wait. Remember, I was famished! I opened the box as soon as I made it home, yes! I washed my hands. I took a bite and literally took about 10 more bites before I sat down. The rice had a good concentration of coconut milk and had just the right amount of spice (pepper), the goat meat was well seasoned, really tender and teased my appetite just enough for me to ravish for a bit before I realized I was eating over the kitchen counter. The portion was also really substantial and satisfied my hunger one hundred percent. My daughter was also very pleased. She is only 10 but like I said, we know how Jamaican food should taste. This was THAT! I gave five stars because the combination of the initial interaction with Shane, the customer service by Carlos, the presentation and authentic taste of the food were nothing short of amazing. I will definitely be back. If you like Jamaican/Caribbean food or if you haven't had the experience, I urge you to try S&S. Oh by the way, the staff all wore masks, so that was a plus for me too. Hope this helps. Take care, stay safe and stay healthy. Wear your masks and practice social distancing.

Manje translates to "eat," so I'd say the mission is pretty clear!…read more A Haitian restaurant in this part of Pennsylvania? Completely unexpected. But what was even more unexpected was just how good it was. Being Haitian American, this is the food I grew up on. It's the cuisine I'm most familiar with, so I don't say this lightly: Manje might be the highest-quality Haitian restaurant I've ever been to. The snapper was top-tier elite. Seasoned perfectly, fried perfectly, and honestly just one of those dishes where you take a bite and immediately know they know what they're doing. I made the rookie mistake of coming in right before closing, so they were out of a few things--including the black rice. But that white rice? Better than 90% of the rice I've probably ever had. Haitians make the best rice. I'm willing to die on that hill. And what made this visit even more memorable was that it wasn't just about the food. The dining space was really nice, and the customer service was excellent. And if you know Haitian restaurants, you know I'm saying a LOT when I point that out. Manje is honestly everything I wish I had in my local town. Great food, a beautiful space, welcoming service, and a menu centered around a cuisine that's near and dear to my heart. An absolute must-stop if you're anywhere near West Chester and looking for Haitian food. Manje understood the assignment.

Solid food and friendly service. Good portion size, and the food was fresh…read more Not the bets you'll have, but probably the best you can find in the area, which is a bit of a desert for great Caribbean food.
