I decided to give Carib Grill another try, since my last review was a few years ago. I was in the mood for some Brown stew chicken with rice & peas and Collard greens. You guys prices are ridiculous on UberEats. 28.00 for a large brown stew chicken. First look at the platter, I expect a little more for almost 30$. The Rice & Peas were good, the Collard Greens were okay, but the Brown stew chicken just AWFUL !!!! Overcooked, Dry, inedible in every way imagine. This is last & final try with Carib Grill read more

Going for years food is great happy with the portions parking and in a good location I love the oxtails

I finally got to try Carib Grill after seeing how busy it is when I drive for Doordash. I LOVE boiled dumplings so I ordered some soup and they told me it came with dumplings. Love it. I found out two things today 1. Chicken foot soup is quite possibly the best soup I've ever had in my life. It's peppery and so so flavorful. 100 times better than chicken noodle, which I never look forward to eating. 2. Carib Grill is definitely a place I'm going back to for more- I gotta try the brown stew fish. read more

I have ordered food from the Carib Grill four times in the last 6 months. Their place is clean, service is great, and the food looks appetizing to the eye, and it tastes delicious. I have ordered goat meat stew, oxtail, and chicken. While I love the food and will go again, I only want to mention that the chef loves salt. Every time I get food from Carib Grill, I struggle with it. I don't have any sodium restrictions but I taste the salt and wish I had remembered to do some chemistry trick before serving it, which unfortunately would alter the taste as not there isn't much gravy in the dishes I choose. Also, my problem is that I go there when I am too hungry to even remember tasting the food before I get myself fully set up at the table to enjoy my meal. I hope the chef goes low on salt. All that said, I recommend the restaurant. read more

The food was delicious. I will order again. I ordered via DoorDash and got the ackee and saltfish, callaloo and saltfish (with boiled dumpling, boiled banana, and sauteed cabbage), sorrel, and ginger turmeric juice. Everything was fresh and tasty! read more

Everytime I eat from here I get sick , I ate from here only two times .. the service is quick the food is mid .. I think they just need to work on they food a little more it shouldn't be getting people sick read more

The portions are too small. It's sad and it's like being robbed. I hot the calliloo and salt fish, I barely got half of a sardine size of fish. I got 1/2 cup of greens. I had to beg for some of the broth for salt fish flavor. Sad. I'm never going back We got chicken foot soup with no chicken foot in sight. Shameful. read more

Bomb bomb bomb They know what extra sauce is Rice and peas are so good. The chicken stew is the best. I have been going here for years. I just wish they would have better store hours. Good taste. Not bland. Great flavor with everything. read more

Wow!! I've had many Caribbean dishes around the city, but this one place is AUTHENTIC Jamaican food. I order Jerk Chicken w/ rice & peas with cabbage. My husband had curry chicken with white rice and cabbage. Everything tastes homemade with love and lots of flavor. Will definitely come back in the near future! read more

When ordering "jerk wings" beware: - a SMALL order of jerk wings comes with THREE wings - a MEDIUM order of jerk wings comes with FOUR wings BUT, if "they deem the wings to be "LARGE", you get one less wing; and they don't inform you. Food is OK, but the attitude, whew! read more

Food is great / come early!!!! The service has gotten better! Welcome vibe and good! The place is more to take out so ! Strongly don't waste time unless you starving! read more

Post renovations they are horrible but before they probably had the best Jamaican food in the county! Not sure what happened

The food here used to be so good, but something has been going on. It is a hit or miss now. The prices increased and the portions decreased.... If they start running low on rice, they'll start giving 1/3 portions of rice.. Today was our last time. We picked up platers and clearly the food wasn't fresh. It had a stale tase to it, we couldn't eat it,$100, down the drain. Good luck, hopefully you get them on a good day. read more

I've been coming here for years and before the recent renovation, I've noticed the food was changing. First off, what happened to the cooks? Prices have raised as well but doesn't match the food. Cakes are dry and small for what they are charging. Chicken is always overcooked, cabbage is undercooked, rice and peas always dry. If you ask for extra gravy, they will not give you that. But when you don't ask for gravy, they'll put it on your food. Thing is there food needs the extra gravy because of how dry and flavorless it is. My recent trip here will be my last unfortunately. They've become way too comfortable and with the increase of price, it's not worth it. read more

I have always liked this spot , but lately the quality has been slipping , the hearty portions aren't so healthy anymore , I just paid $28 for an Oxtail platter and I was very disappointed , I'll be trying out this new spot that just opened , I won't be just giving away $28 . read more

This is my spot! Come here if you want to satisfy all your Jamaican taste buds. The menu is usually a variety overload, with options like--jerk chicken, curry goat, oxtail, stew chicken, fish, cabbage, plantains and some other good stuff including beef patties and other snacks. The juice selections are OK too. I usually go for the oxtail or curry goat and sometimes a mixture of both with rice n peas and a side of cabbage or plantains. My huny likes the jerk chicken with oxtail sauce. Everything is delicious! Go on a Saturday to experience the real Jamaican style jerk on the outside....dont mind the smoke thats coming from the jerk pans (that's normal). The aroma will have you waiting impatiently to dive in and start eating. The place is clean and the staff is usually pleasant. I can feel my tasebuds coming in now. I feel a curry goat platter coming on before the end of the day (smacking my lips) read more

I just happened to be at the market across the way and decide to give it a try. It wasn't that great,The oxtail had some flavour but the rice and peas and yam was just okay. They had "boneless" jerk chicken which I never heard of and it was just okay. It's good for in a fix, but, wouldn't go out of my way to go back there or select it as an option. Clean establishment and they also sell baked goods. My comparison maker for this review is that I'm first generation and was raised on this food. read more

Extremely disappointing. I ordered the oxtails platter for $23 and I got 4 pieces of oxtails. The oxtails were put in the side order portion of the container . The cabbage was put where the oxtails should have been. This is high way robbery. I don't know how they could've done this with no conscience at all. 4 pieces and you have the nerve to charge $23 dollars? Barely any gravy, 1 butter bean. You don't have to worry about me ever ordering from this place again. read more

Carib Grill - $23 oxtails platter. Should have been named yams and cabbage platter. - Caribbean Near Me - Upper Darby, Pennsylvania

I was at The Tower Theatre 12/11/2018. I went to Carib Grill for dinner. My order was missing three beef patties. I called them, they told me to just come back. (Like I have time for that.) Then they said next time I come in they'll replace the patties. I haven't been in Upper Darby since 2010. The next day I called. Who ever answered the phone said the managers are busy and took my name & number. Did I get a call back? No. I called the next day 12/13. My first statement was "my I speak to a manager?" Person on phone: why are you calling this business? Not how may I help you. Not this is the manager. I knew from that my problem would not be rectified. Customer service is a lost art. I'll never go back. read more

Best Jamaican food ever! I always order the curry goat, with a side of rice and peas and cabbage or fried plantains. In all, the food is always fresh and flavorful. The goat paces are tender and stewed long enough that some of the bone bits are brittle enough to eat with the meat, while the rice grains are firm and flavorful. I enjoy coming here, and an added bonus is the great customer service! read more

BEWARE PEOPLE !! I will never go there again...Last night I bought a small stewed chicken platter..When I got home to eat my platter I noticed there was no chicken, just bones...I live quite ways from the place to bring back. So I came back the next day and told the lady about it..She immediately denied it and said no way would they ever make a platter like that...I said look I have photos..Then she says "Oh I see there is no meat"...So she yells to her server to make me a new meal...She then gives me a container with just meat...I asked where was the rice & peas and cabbage? She says "Oh you have to pay for that"...I told her you guys messed my meal up from last night not me..As respect to a good customer you should make me a new platter like I ordered the first time...I was even going to buy another platter for my wife...I told them to cancel everything and I will never come back here again...Customer service stinks..I would not recommend this place at all.... read more

I ordered 3 small platters and one medium platter why did my small platters have more then my medium platter

This is my favorite Jamacian spot ever. Oxtails are my favorite. They always have so much meat on them and so tender. Never complained once and I come here often. read more

I love their food. It's fresh. Have had goat, jerk chicken and oxtails. Delicious. I also love their beef patties.

Horrible wait times. Every time I go there they have one person on the counter taking walk-in orders, phone orders, gathering the orders taking payments. It's ridiculous. I called once to place my order I arrived 40 minutes after and stood in line for 20 minutes just to pick it up!!! I had to give a star to be able to post this read more

My go to spot for Jamaican food. Always fresh and delicious. The delivery is fast too.

My food was ready when I arrived. There were a few people ahead of me but I didn't wait long since I ordered online. The staff members were friendly. The customer service I received was very good and the food was delicious. I ordered a Curry Goat platter and homemade ginger beer. I'll definitely order from them again. read more

This place is so-so. The 1st time I tried their food 2yrs ago it was horrible. I had to throw the food in the trash. But after reading the current reviews, I assumed they got a better chef so I decided to give them another chance. I ordered the oxtail and jerk chicken dinner for my daughter and I. The jerk chicken was really good! But the oxtail was just edible. It wasn't tasty. Didn't meet my standards. The restaurant is very clean, the cashier has an attitude but all Jamaican restaurants usually have a rude cashier lol. It's the culture. I'm Jamaican so I know. But overall it was not bad. Maybe I should order something different next time. I'm very picky when it comes to ox-tail. read more

I've been enjoying Carib Grill since they first opened, and I've never had a bad experience. The wait time can be husky, but it's worth it because the food is fresh and delicious! That jerk chicken, it's like your daddy grilled it in the back yard. And the oxtails taste like Grandmom cooked them in her kitchen. Everything so well done. read more

Its okay. I go here often more so because it's the closest Caribbean food spot near me. I usually get white meat jerk, curry or oxtails. The food is definitely authentic. I stick to regular stuff as far as the sides you know cabbage, plantains or white rice. I wouldn't suggest the Mac n cheese i had it before and did not like it. And be prepared that they run out of items a lot. And if you get a side order be sure to specify you want gravy on it cuz they gave me a side of jerk one time and it was on the dry side and they didn't put any gravy on it or ask if i wanted any. But if you live in close proximity to here i would suggest them. I never had an issue with the taste or overall quality of the food. Staff for the most part is usually friendly. I believe it's a family run business. I never had any issues with customer service. read more

The few times have been there they have not disappoint. Just prepare to wait a few to get your food, but its worth it!!!

These oxtails are sooooo good. I also am a wimp when it comes to spice bit the food is flavored perfectly. 10/10 would recommend.

i spent over $100, asked for extra gravy, did not receive it and the food is horrible!!! the curry chicken, steak are dry as .....!!! goat meat is ok, very small amount of veggies, which is the best out of all of the food! read more

I ordered a regular sized foil pan of jerk chicken $35 for a party I was having and it was amazing. I placed the order in person 2 days prior to pick up. Ordered a jerk chicken for my daughter she liked the jerk chicken and was ok with the rice and peas the reason I gave a 3 star they had nothing but the jerk chicken, rice and peas, salad and mashed potatoes on their menu sucks for me because for months I would pass by and always talked about trying them and they had nothing I wanted no plantains, no fish I would like to see more options on their menu read more
