Good food, nice ambiance, service was on point.my wife and i had the lamb platter and highly recommendread more

Full disclosure: I first learned about Alamodak from a Yelp Elite Squad event (thank you to our CM…read moreMegan C!), and apparently I'm more recognizable than I thought. Shortly after we arrived Francisco recognized me and greeted me like an old friend, which was really lovely, but also. my cover is blown. I don't advertise that I'm a Yelp reviewer because I want to avoid getting a different experience. SO The food was fabulous. I took a couple of my friends from out of town there for dinner one night. Well, one is from Pennsauken so I don't think that's super out of town. My other friend was from western Massachusetts. We ordered: Freshly Squeezed Lemonade with mint - very refreshing, not cloyingly sweet. Labneh with zatar and pomegranates. We almost licked the plate clean. This was a huge huge hit. Harira soup, also a huge hit. One of us got the lentil soup instead, which was also good, but the Harira was the star. We got a family sampler of hummus, baba ghanoug, tabbouleh, one other thing. It was very good, we were already starting to get full. Uh oh. Then to the entrees. One of us got the Tomato Kufta, the other got the Kufta with Tahini so we could compare. Both were great, I liked the tomato kufta slightly better. I can't remember what the third entree was, my guest was already so full he basically took it home, and told me later how it was good even a day later. Lastly, mint tea, Jordanian style, with a little jar of honey, and then baklava, which was great, not too sweet, crunchy and soft, just yum. Service was great, please see disclosure above, though. I doubt anyone else's experience would be different. The restaurant was warm and inviting in its' decor. We didn't go upstairs to the hookah lounge. Don't let the exterior fool you, inside it's comfy and welcoming. Parking...it's PHILLY. Street. If you can't parallel park your car in a spot 8" longer than it, take Uber, people. If I, who despises driving to the city, particularly sections that were built before cars existed, will do this, then you know it's a good place to eat. Also, I can get my car in a parallel spot 8" longer than my car. I am, after all, still a Philly girl, living in the 'burbs.

This review is for delivery only. I've ordered from Top…read moreNotch twice. The first platter was oxtails, cabbage and candied yams. The oxtails were delicious! Nice and meaty, very tender and flavorful. I'd give them 9/10. Cabbage was seasoned well. They get 8/10. Candied yams were delicious. Would definitely get them again! They get 10/10. Needless to say, I enjoyed my meal. I had enough for another meal the next day. The second time I ordered the Fried Chicken platter with candied yams, Mac and cheese and a side of collared greens. The fried chicken was just ok. It tasted like it wasn't freshly made and not seasoned. Maybe sitting around for a few hours. The chicken gets 6/10. The Collared greens were surprisingly good, with a mild taste of vinegar to give it a little kick. They were well seasoned and tender. The collars get 9/10. The Mac and cheese was just ok (if u don't know what good mac and cheese taste like.) The mac and cheese gets a 5/10. A little dry and not cheesey at all. Needless to say the yams were yamming again. Always my favorite, they get a 10! The delivery was fast and the food came hot and wrapped well to avoid spillage. The prices for a platter, range about $14-25 dollars with 2 sides. Any additional sides are $5. No real complaints. I love that they are pretty generous with the portions they give you. I would definitely order from Top Notch again. Probably try something different to go with my candied yams :)

First let me say that I've eaten at many, many Jamaican restaurants across the US. This one stands…read moreout easily as one of my favorites. Aside from the food being delicious and the portion sizes being huge, the price is the best I've encountered. One large platter with three sides for $15! Unheard of compared to other places I've been to. The fact that they're open till 2am is also a huge plus for me. There's no sitdown seating so it's worth noting that this spot is takeout only.
