Okay so I went to this place 2 days ago, sat inside. 1st thing I noticed was it was dark, red lights, and chair with fabric. Against my better judgement I sat down in the corner closet to the door. I got bit up sooooo bad. I stayed for about an hour or so. When I got home and took a shower all the bites started itching badly!!! They have bed bugs on their furniture. The place is dirty. If you do happen to visit sit outside! read more

Great service. And more importantly the hookahs are well-made, some flavors will burn out faster than others, but picking the flavor is key to a bomb hookah! The only thing was, when we ordered a refill flavor. He said he would have to charge us for another whole hookah since our original hookah was a fruit head hookah - I'm glad we were told this before it was just brought out to us. It was basically like getting a whole new hookah (-price-wise). So that got expensive. I love just sitting outside - they share this cute street with neighboring restaurants and bars. Its so relaxing! The noise is not loud at all. BYOB! Everyone's favorite. They uncork your wine and beer bottles. ALSO another great and convenient option is to walk 2 restaurants down to the restaurant SET. You can buy drinks from the bar and head over to Orient. SET is great!!! Overall - great experience and solid hookah! read more

Out of towners, so my group and I were highly disappointed. Arrived around 10, so the place was packed. We were greeted and was told our wait would be 20 mins if we wanted to sit outside. Ok, cool, we'll wait. Ended up waiting around 40 mins and then was told it's 1 hookah per 2 persons. A group of 4 and 2 didn't spoke. Was there for a vibe but truly this place is NOT a vibe at all. No music, no anything. Someone recommended this place and I'm not sure why! We were told BYO everything, so we had food and drinks already. We spoke to a manager, he wasn't the greatest to deal with. Basically brushed us off, He wasn't trying to accommodate us at all, so we left. I would not recommend this place and if there are other hookah spots in the neighborhood, cute one at that, go there! read more

I've been coming to Orient for 6 years now and they by far have the best hookah in the city. Amazing atmosphere, BYOB and the staff is incredible. They're attentive, so you're never waiting around for a new coal, and they are so friendly. It's also in the perfect location, surrounded by spots with food and drinks so you can grab stuff to bring to eat/drink while you smoke your hookah. There's no other spot I'd rather go in the city for a hookah and if you haven't tried it yet, you are seriously missing out!! read more

Had a great time at this spot. First time and I really enjoyed myself. Rob was great and so helpful. Very friendly. Definitely coming here again! read more

Orient Cafe Hookah Lounge - BYOB, hookah - Hookah Bars Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I went to Orient lounge last week, and it was a nice change -- a little bit away from the city crowd. We ordered Two Apples flavored shisha, and it was light, and very smooth. Also, I believe they offer fresh fruit heads. - BYO food and/or beverages ($2 charge). - Street and free parking lots are available. - $5 off your 1st hookah with Yelp check-in. - %10 student discount. - Great service. Nice spot to hangout with friends and relax. Three and Three quarters Yelps. read more

Meh. I was excited to try out this spot that my girl mentioned as a pretty cool byob hookah spot but was left unimpressed. We went on a Saturday evening around 9pm and it was packed, luckily for just 2 of us, the wait was short. They have both indoor and outdoor seating which is nice. My biggest gripes were 1. The music was really bad. For the day and time of night + the demographic of their clientele, I expected something better. It was mostly some type of Mediterranean pop but some rnb could've worked. 2. Was the $50 minimum for cards. Two people having hookah won't add up to $50...ever. Not sure I'd try this spot again read more

This is probably the worse hookah lounge I've ever been too. I recommend Bside hookah lounge for amazing hookah & great service!I They spit & urinate in hookahs. They charge a $3.00 for a BYOB charge even if it's a bottle of water. They also violate zoning rules. They put chairs next door & disrespect tenants. You have to pay for water you can't get a glass of water. The manager is racist & is against gays which is uncomfortable... Come here if you want to smoke really bad hookah on a dry mouth. It's a go to if if it's walking distance, and a quick stop for something to smoke. Overall, I will not come back & feel violated and discriminated by my race & sexuality. read more

This place compared to SO many just LIKE IT sucks. They have a fee for everything. The fee to bring a bottle is per person versus per bottle AND it's only two people per hookah which is unnecessary if everyone is not smoking. read more

I am from Seattle and was in the mood for Hookah. This place is amazing. I would highly recommend it. The atmosphere is very relaxed and great place to come with friends and have hookah. Mina is a great host and his staff is great. If you want hookah and a chill place to hang out. read more

I found this place through Yelp and chose it based on the reviews. It definitely lives up to what others have said. Chill, casual ambiance. Great hookah with decent prices. Awesome and attentive staff. Clean. Outdoor seating. FYI, they're expanding their space, so I'm sure it'll be even better when it's finished. Definitely coming back next time in the area! read more

Really great service! Don't bother calling because they won't answer and also don't take reservations. My party of 2 walked up and waited about 10-15 mins while we got a drink at a nearby restaurant. The staff is super attentive. My only negative is that the music should be louder and be played outside read more

What a wonderful gem this place is. If you're looking for a spot to just chill + hang out with a group of people, this is your spot. I met Mina for the first time through my friends + my first time was nothing but pleasant. Our server was also really kind and had a wonderful personality! I can't wait to come back, it's the perfect place to relax and have great conversation. *have a safe trip to Egypt Mina! read more

Here you can- enjoy hookah, with Arab traditional tea, BYOB, with friends, Solo, indoor or al fresco, under the tea lights lite Northern Libertie's Liberty Walk. You can study and do work here while smoking hookah solo during the weekday, the weekend is louder and too vibrant for that. Not for children but the outdoor seating is pet friendly. Located on Northern Liberties' Liberty Walk, Orient is a BYOB hookah lounge with a welcoming staff. Busy and wait times on the weekends. Quiet and cafe like on weekdays. Large flavor menu, dope staff, and cold hookah handles available! My ratings are based on a 5 star scale. Where 1 star is tragic and 5 star is Ouwww terrific! Overall ratings- 5 star hookah experience! My FAVORITE hookah spot in Philly! They have Rose flavor hookah(my fav and not available just anywhere) fruit served hookah, ice and cold hookah handles! OUUWWWWW! Hookah quality- 5 stars Customer service- 5 stars Cleanliness- 3.5 stars Decor- 4 stars. Not fancy but definitely comfortable and nice for a layed back hookah lounge. Love the ambience here, tucked away in a nice breezeway in No Libs. Great pricing, good hookah and it's BYOB. Would def recommend. It gets packed late at night so def try to come before 10pm if possible. read more

Chill vibe. Good service. Two rooms to smoke in. Good for a date night or a chill night with your friends.

If you want Hookah and BYO this is a fairly decent place to visit. The furniture is very worn however and I think they could really develop their outdoor seating as well to make it more of a comfortable experience. The prices are standard for hookah, and they DO charge for BYO - $3 a person. They have sodas, bottled water and cans of pineapple juice for mixers if you need anything when you get there. Friday's and Saturday's expect to wait if you come after 8pm, it gets crowded! read more

This place is fantastic. The service is friendly and warm and you feel so comfortable just walking through the door. And as someone with an anxiety disorder, that's absolutely phenomenal. The prices are cheap and affordable, the flavors are wonderful, and it's now my go-to chill spot. I love this place! read more

I've experienced a few hookah lounges in Philly and didn't understand the hype. After my visit here, I'm now a hookah lover. The staff is accommodating and extremely outgoing. We had many servers but Terryll was the greatest. I didn't enjoy the indoor seating, so we played musical chairs until seats were available outside. Awesome place to come with a group or solo. -BYOB -outdoor seating -open until 3am -decent background music read more

Been here a few times with large groups of friends. Always have a great time! They are always able to accommodate us. They are friendly and laid back. Play cool music. Comfortable seating.. And the hookah is very well priced and is great! it's also byob and they have a good selection of beverages there to order as well. I've never been there while there more then one or two other groups beside us, but I've always only been there on a week night. More people should come here! It's a great hookah bar! read more

I've been going here since 2016 and never realized how great the location is! The last time I went in with the Yelp team members and they absolutely loved it! The place is byob + byo food which is great considering it's located near some popping food joints! Def one of my go to places for hookah in town! Also, Shoutout to the servers here they are so attentive and personable! Also, they always check wether you want a coconut coal or easy coal which is a huge + because most of the other places don't have options! read more

Orient Hookah Lounge is a really cool, authentic Middle Eastern hookah lounge located in Philly. Here's the deal: - Indoor & Outdoor seating available - Ice hose accessory only available during the spring/summer - Friendly service - BYOB (supermarket located within walking distance) - Coals are changed frequently - Variety of flavors - Check in with Yelp & there's an automatic discount in store for you - Good music - Did I mention BYOB? Buy a bottle of wine and they will literally open it for you and bring you cups. - Bathrooms suck (sorry, but they do!) Would I go back here if I find myself in Philly? I don't see why not. read more

I've been to several hookah places and this one is by far my favorite. My boyfriend and I happened upon it after grabbing dinner in the piazza with a friend. We wanted to do hookah afterwards and after I looked up a place that was close by, I was surprised to see a hookah place with such high ratings. So we thought why not. The atmosphere and decor is a little off-putting but the service and the fact it was BYOB, definitely made up for it. I didn't know it was BYOB at first so once I found out, I made my boyfriend run to the wine and spirits to grab us a bottle. The people who worked there were very attentive, they constantly checked on our coal and replaced it when needed. A lot of hookah places don't do that. You usually have to ask and even then they'll charge you to replace. My boyfriend is also a huge flyers fan and there was a game on that night so we asked if they could show the game and they happily changed the channel for us. I'll definitely be back. read more

This was our first time here and it was absolutely amazing!!! Extremely friendly people and definitely the best hookah in philly hands down. Great music, great vibes, great service! It's right over the bridge and easy to get to. The area is very nice and chill. It's BYOB and there is a liquor store right up the block so no worries. They also have tables outside when the weather cooperates. It's a vibe! This is our new favorite place! We will definitely be back. read more

Orient Cafe Hookah Lounge - Lovely place... We came early before it got cray - Hookah Bars Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I had a great experience here. Usually, hookah lounges in Philly are accompanied by extremely rude owners and services. However, here, the service was incredible, and everyone was really chill. We weren't required to order a drink either, which was nice, and it was also BYOB, which I think is really cool. My friend and I ordered a hookah which was very enjoyable and good quality, and we didn't have to repeatedly ask to have coals changed or anything. We also took advantage of the $5 off Yelp check-in offer, which was nice - only $10 for a hookah is great! read more

Found this gem last night when my group got the sudden urge to smoke some hookah. It is a nice little lounge in an alley that is kind of hidden but is amazing inside. They offer a spacious seating area with couches and padded chairs. This establishment is BYOB and there is a liquor store just down the street. WIN! The group decided on the blue mist which gives off a fruity tasty with a tangy after taste. It was delicious and the hookah smoked very smooth. What really made the night was the waiter that helped us. She was extremely nice and very personable. She made us feel at home. Overall, I had a great time. I will definitely be back the next time I am in Philly! read more

I wonder if this place has changed hands since all of the good hype on here because the shisha was really so-so, it was stuffy and a bit dirty in there, and a Lipton bottled iced tea was $2 (I was expecting like... iced tea... with ice.) I left early because I was getting nauseous in there. The price is REALLY good here so maybe I will come back when it is not extremely crowded. The very large 10 person party next to us was extremely loud and talking about really embarrassing stuff at top volume. They were playing golf on the TVs on a Friday night. read more

Nice little byob just outside the ever so popular Piazza at Schmidt's. This place is located in a really wide alley which works for them becuase it's a low traffic area and since the alley is wide, they have a huge area for outdoor seating. Their setup outdoors was quite comfortable. However, the wind started to pick up a little so we moved inside. The sofas and chairs inside were super comfortable, the lighting was perfectly dimmed, and the music was good. Some areas inside seemed a little tight due to some of the furniture being a little bulky. But as long as you're not too drunk, it shouldn't be a problem maneuvering around. There were two guys working there that were real laidback and very knowledgeable. The hookahs are priced well and are available with a decent amount of options, including fruit heads! The hookahs were prepared quick and the they were on point with changing the coals. Most important, the hookahs were pretty damn smooth. My only complaint is that they don't serve any food and their beverage selection was minimal. However, there's plenty of places in the same alley or within a 2 minute walk that you can get food and drinks at. Other than that, this place is a must try for any one who loves hookah. read more

I went with 3 of my other friends for one of their birthdays. It was super nice, the vibes with the red lights were cool. The waitress was super attentive, always made sure that our coal was always lit. The music was full of variety, really good. The hookahs blew strong smoke and the fragrances we picked (Sex on the Beach & Pink) weren't too rough and smelled okay. They were really busy so there wasn't a lot of seating, but I guess that's normal because it was a Saturday night. I'd call ahead to reserve a spot for groups. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hookah place, and will be visiting again soon! read more
