Literally the worst hookah bar I've ever stepped foot in. They charge $10 a person as a cover fee for the DJ!!!!! what kind of joke is that? There is a bouncer present so they pat down any males, but don't pat down females. It was so awkward I've never been to a hookah bar that requires a pat down before entering!
So after paying the fee, we get the hookah, and they don't even have a lot of choices, and we end up getting this apple flavored one. It made our stomachs hurt. The ambience in this place is really weird, it makes you feel uncomfortable like you're in a bad area about to get jumped kinda feeling. All the "DJ" played was loud rap music, and there were pauses in between plays that made for awkward silence.
After finishing some of hookah, the worker comes over and says its gonna cost $15... so we sit there dumbfounded as to why we paid $20 for two people to enter and then an extra $15 for the hookah..!! The guy replied, "we don't get that $20, the DJ does." That is the stupidest thing I ever heard. Why have a DJ at all... just play some music from your iPhone and save us all $$$. Don't come here. This place is shady... overpriced, and the hookah is not worth the money !! No wonder they don't put prices anywhere, they don't want you to know ahead of time that they are ripping you off! Never again.
To respond to the comment made by the business:
1. To suggest that I want to get frisked is absolutely appalling thing to infer, and just another reason why people who have standards should avoid this place.
2. The "security guard" did not tell us that the $20 was for the cover fee. He just said "10 each", checked our ID's, took the money, and didn't say what it was for. We were led to believe it was for the hookah and not for the "DJ".
3. Once again, your prices for the hookah and cover fee are nowhere to be found. Not on social media, and not on the menu given to us. If I knew ahead of time what was to await us, we never would have picked this place. There's like three other hookah bars in the area...
4. We didn't hear the worker say in the beginning that the hookah was $15. He mumbled the price and walked off. Hardly the service we were expecting.
5. You guys don't have the cheapest prices. That is a fib. The hookah bar called Onyx just two miles away from you sells hookah for $10 a person. We did go there that night, but decided not to smoke there because it was so crowded and the nice girl at the counter said we would have to sit with strangers, and we weren't up for that. So, we picked Layali instead. What a disappointment that turned out to be. read more
