I will admit that when my wife suggested sushi in Covington I was more than a little apprehensive…read more But I am happy to say I was amazingly happily surprised. The location is a little different but it works out well. The menu has a nice variety and everything is made fresh. I ordered the Thai chicken satay and my wife ordered the dragons breath gourmet crunch roll. Of course we shared. Everything was delicious and I don't throw that expression around loosely. Portions are good size. But most of all the service is excellent. We will be back soon.

Currently located across from the courthouse, this business is quickly outgrowing its shared space…read moreand is looking for a larger spot to host its customers. Though it gets its name from the liquid nitrogen used to quickly make your ice cream, the menu has a variety of salads, sandwiches, and even sushi! So, after driving around western Indiana all morning, I was intrigued by the unique name and was pleasantly surprised that they had so much variety of food items beyond the ice cream. I placed an order at the counter for a Chicken Caesar Wrap (which comes with your pick of chips). The staff quickly went to work on assembling my lunch and brought it out to my table (there are very few tables. All are round 2 tops.) Although the wrap description mentions the chicken (cubed), greens, Parmesan cheese, and Caesar dressing, there was a lot of flavor especially from the dressing/sauce. Very tasty!! I also had to try one of their ice cream dishes. They have a huge variety of flavors available so I was a bit indecisive. I asked what was most popular and was told the Turtle. So, that's what I ordered. Before long, I saw them making the ice cream with the liquid nitrogen right then. They then topped it with chocolate fudge, caramel, and pecans. Another Yum! The only thing negative was that the fudge and caramel were cold and stayed somewhat clumped instead of melting over the ice cream. But the flavors were great. The staff, including Trudy who runs the place, were very friendly and were sharing information about points of interest in the area (which I took them up on). The service brings the food to your table if you are dining-in and only charge you when you are finished. I did pay at the counter instead of waiting for a bill to be brought to my table. Parking is convenient on both sides of the street (free and angled in). The elevated entrance does have ramps at the half blocks for those challenged by steps. Good food, good people, and an overall good experience for a nice price. Review #947

I have to give a 4 star rating though because within the last year or so I noticed they have stopped filling the cup full to the top. I asked to have more ice cream added to my tornado and the girl said she couldn't fill it after I had eaten it and I hadn't eaten anything and had just picked it up from the counter. I let her know I hadn't eaten anything and I had just got it from another girl working there and she apologized and gave me a small cup of ice cream to add to the top to mix in myself. But it had happened multiple times since then and it's pretty frustrating when you are paying so much for a tornado and it isn't filled to the top like it used to be and also making the drive for it too. I also don't love asking them to fill it after getting it from the counter. It's awkward. Overall, I will continue to get ice cream from SDB because it truly is the best. Just wish they would fill the cup all the way up without having to ask. :) *The photos attached are before I had eaten anything from the cup.

Their soft serve ice cream is nothing short of amazing, and the fresh, cooked-to-order hamburgers are a perfect savory counterpart; the barbecue burger, in particular, is an absolute must-try. My wife raves about their frozen treats, expertly blending soft serve with cookie dough and M&M's. It's clear this place is a gem when both loyal locals and curious tourists consistently flock here. The building itself, an iconic fixture in Lafayette since the 1960s, holds a rich history as one of the area's first drive-ins, adding an extra layer of nostalgia to every delicious bite. Despite the consistently long wait of about 15 minutes, the efficient service, rated 8/10, keeps things moving, ensuring you get your treats swiftly. Parking is surprisingly easy, a huge plus for a popular spot. While the energetic atmosphere (9/10) is undeniable, it's worth noting that Budges doesn't cater specifically to young children, lacking highchairs and perhaps better suited for older kids or adults looking for a classic drive-in experience. I will be back!

I bring all my out of town visitors here and everyone loves it. Such a great spot and when the weather is good, you can enjoy your food or ice cream at a picnic table, in your car, or sitting nearby. Don't forget to ask for their frequent buyer card and get little stamps for opportunities at free items!

This was a bit of a drive for me, an hour and a half, since I live in Indy, but it was well worth the drive! The Beef House is a steakhouse that has been around since 1964, and it is a family style steakhouse that is known for their fresh beef and huge portions. They also have a banquet hall across the parking lot that can be rented out for special events or organization meetings. I have not been inside the banquet hall, but from the pictures, it looks very nice and has a beautiful ambiance. When I went inside the restaurant, I noticed a bull's head on the wall on the right that was very unique and stood out very well. It is definitely a photo opportunity for families to remember the dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is gorgeous and definitely old style family steakhouse vibes with wood paneling and display of fine chinaware on the mantle. Our server greeted us with a smile and welcomed us to the restaurant. Unfortunately, I do not remember her name, but she was wonderful and took very good care of us. The menu is very impressive with a variety of options from pasta, steak, lobster, fish, and even frog legs! I decided to go with the Atlantic salmon dinner because I was in the mood for fish. I know I should have gotten a steak, but just was not feeling a steak for dinner. The dinner came with a salad, a side, and soup. I chose the vegetable soup, garden salad, and baked potato with sour cream for my side. OMG! When I say the portions were huge, the portions were huge!!! My Atlantic salmon was a huge portion, and the baked potato was a decent size as well. The vegetable soup and garden salad were delicious and very fresh. The vegetable soup was homemade and very comfort food for me. The Atlantic salmon was cooked to perfection and had a perfect texture to it. It melted in my mouth when I tasted it and was absolutely perfect! The baked potato was excellent and cooked perfectly as well. My Aunt also had the Atlantic salmon dinner and my Uncle had the chicken Parmesan dinner with pasta. The chicken Parmesan was huge and big enough to fill the entire plate. My Uncle loved it very much. The best part was the yeast rolls with strawberry jam and apple butter. The yeast rolls were the best I have ever had in a long time and the homemade strawberry jam and apple butter were pure heaven. You can even purchase a dozen of the yeast rolls to take home, along with a jar of apple butter or strawberry jam, if you are so inclined. This was an amazing dining experience and reminded me of the old steakhouse my family used to go to as a kid for dinner on special occasions. My Aunt and Uncle gave a good recommendation, and will definitely be back here for dinner if I am in the area. The Beef House is fantastic and highly recommend anyone traveling on the road to stop here for lunch or dinner, but would suggest making reservations in advance because it does get busy very quick. A wonderful road side restaurant for dinner here in Indiana that is a great discovery. Everyone need to come to The Beef House! It is #1!
