We have done the same for our daughter and my mother and my mother-in-law. This brand is fantastic. You cannot go wrong. My boyfriend and I went here to buy a chain and I was so excited to find this store closer to my home. We walked in and waited several minutes prior to anyone acknowledging us. Hey... that happens... but we had been out and about and the mask off and on and off and on and our mask was below our noses without us really realizing it. Once the young lady DID acknowledge us she spoke to us in such disdain to pull our mask up over our noses. I GET it about the mask but to work in a Christian store and treat us this way was disheartening. We didn't even have to look at each other and walked out. What a shame. I don't normally post reviews but the store owners really need to coach this young lady. Kindness is key. We went to the location in Willowbend mall and made our purchase. I really loved this place! It's a feel good vibe from the second you walk in! The staff is super friendly and very personable! My family has several pieces from here; charm bracelets, crosses, necklaces, ect. Great place to buy someone for yourself or someone you care about! I so happened to break one of my necklaces and when I brought it back, they were happy to give me a new on at 50 percent of the retail price. I've been here shopping twice in the last two months and have had great service. I knew what I wanted before going in so I told the clerk, and they had the item picked out within a couple of minutes. I've gone in at off times my last two visits, late Sunday evening and mid afternoon during the week and both times were not too busy. I have been in close to the Christmas season last year and will say it's very, very busy. The closer you wait till Christmas, the busier it will be, especially on weekends. I also found out that if you order and pay online, you can pick your item up at the store and not have to wait. I bought charms each of my last two visits and they were kind enough to wrap them and put them in a nice gift bag, which for a guy comes in handy! I have no complaints about this business! Take note that the closer you get to a major holiday, like Christmas or Mother's Day probably, the longer you might have to wait for a representative. I was the ONLY customer in the store, and still was not helped after 20 mins of walking around. I was greeted by the girl working the floor and she was the absolute sweetest but other than that none of the employees working bothered to help me. I will NEVER return to this location. Let me start by saying we have been purchasing James Avery jewelry for 25 + yrs now / 3 generations . So I bring in a charm to have added to our newest bracelet , & the store had more staff than customers by 3 x 1 2:30 on a weekday , even the employees commented how slow it has been especially since we just had mother's day . I give them the charm & bracelet & she says I can pick up after 5 . I think .... why so long . If I go to the spot inside the mall , they add the charm while you wait ( had last charm put on that way & was a very painless ordeal , 15 mins tops ) but the folks in the retail store couldn't ? We had a great experience at this James Avery Location. I stopped by on a Saturday to pick out a gift for a relative. I had a general idea of what I was looking for, and the staff were extremely patient and helpful while I decided. We were greeted immediately upon entering the store and asked if we needed anything, and left to browse while I decided. When I was ready to pick out a chain and see how it looked with the charms I selected, Margaret was extremely helpful and gave me good advice about a chain for a 13 year old. From the outside this store looks tiny. It's actually a good size. Upon entering I was greeted and helped. I needed to exchange a necklace chain I was given to get a longer one. The woman helped me pick out a length I preferred and got me paid out and on my way. It was less than 5 minutes. She was so kind through it all. Every single special occasion from birthdays to Valentine's and Xmas, I buy something from this exact store for my daughter. But, I am seriously reconsidering as of last night. I may just go to Neiman's and introduce my daughter the the lovely world of Lagos or Dweck sterling jewelry. More expensive, but I honestly expect more customer friendly service, and James Avery isn't delivering. A supposed size 7.5 ring actually shows as 7.25 on their own measuring rod. Has happened before...sizing is off on regular basis. Also, Im looking at a case and a sales associate walks right in front of me to pull a piece out for her client...no "excuse me", no "oh, were you looking at that item"...wow! Also, saw a new ring with a stone that had not a single striation, low color saturation, and no character. When I went back a few weeks later to see same style but hoping they had more choices in stone...associate told me they may sell out and not even be sent any more of that item for some time. Hello, it is xmas...get to restocking and giving clients choices James Avery. And, no restroom for emergency customer use either. Perhaps I should have been wearing my adult diapers, because when I went in and said I planned on buying several items but have a restroom emergency, well, I was told to go to tom thumb. I couldnt hold it that far, so went next door and they let me use their non-public restroom. And the idiot I am, I went back to the store and bought three items. Then it bothered me, thinking about how much money I have spent in that store and how there were six salespeople just standing around with only three customers and nobody thought to just show me to the bathroom back there and stand outside the door if needed so I didnt tinckle myself before spending hundreds of dollars in there. In this day and age, customer friendly attributes, offerings and service is of the utmost importance. As is good judgement in how you treat customers. James Avery is lacking big time. Now, I am going to return an expensive piece I bought last night as it chaps my hide that those salespeople and the business itself cant be attentive to sizing or customer friendly behavior for the business they get. Within 10 seconds of walking in, I was greeted by a sales associate out by the displays to see what I needed. Initially I had every intention of needing to buy a new chain to replace the one my husband owned since the clasp had broken. The sweet sales associate said that they can try to fix it for free or sell me a replacement for half off. Either way, she put me on the list to see another sales associate at the actual tables to see what could be done. Oh, did I forget to say that I accidentally got RED nail polish on about an inch of the chain before my visit? This is what I got for being too impatient to wait for my nails to dry. After the lady evaluated the clasp and said it was "their bad" for the broken spring so it'll be a free repair, she also mentioned that they'll see if they can get my nail polish out! And so they did, all before 5pm that same day. Some items, like the tiniest little charm, can be pretty pricey here, but after my experience, you're really paying for good quality items and service should your purchase get damaged years later. This company has an abysmal return policy - my son bought me a gift online from them and tried to get a refund online. Their response was, no you have to bring the item to the store. So I brought the item to the store and no, they would not give me a refund, because I did not have my son's credit card with me. (He lives out of state). So they got what they wanted - they kept the sale and gave me a store credit. But once the credit is used, they have lost a customer. The only reason they did not get a 1 star is because they have nice merchandise though quite pricey. read more

After a 5 minute wait for service, I was told they only provide that service for items that were purchased there ! What possible difference could that make, as long as they get paid for it ? I came in with the intention to return my purchase for store credit, because it was past 60 days. I had never worn it, that's why I returned it. It want my style and was a surprise gift from my mother. When I went to return it. I had it in the original bag, box and pouch. But that wasn't enough for them despite there not being any issues with the item. The lady took it to the back to check with her manager because the receipt saying "over 60 days." was not enough for her. She said that since it had been a year (I am a busy student and do not go out to that area) (and since the receipt only had a day minimum and not a maximum, that should be held as irrelevant information) and it apparently had scratches, which is impossible because I HAD NEVER WORN IT OR TAKEN IT OUT OF THE BOX. It was sitting on my dresser all this time and last time I checked it's an inanimate object that couldn't possibly damage itself. The only way it could get scratched is from the chain (I was returning a charm and chain) abrasion. Or if it was damaged after being taken to the back. I don't know. Out of the "kindness of the staff's heart" they offered an exchange only. Instead of store credit. I had intended to get the store credit so that I could return at a different time. Possibly around a friend's birthday to get them a gift since I don't like anything from this store because the taste is a bit older than mind. But here I am standing in the middle of the store. Stuck buying a present for my cousin and awaiting my aunt to tell me what type of item she'd probably like. So I'd say this "short trip" was not pleasant. Instead of 5 minutes. I've been here 30 minutes. And at the check out counter. They have stuff piled on my "damaged charm". So I'm not getting the full value of what I paid back because of this unnecessary exchange. And since there was $8 left from the exchange. She is trying to sell me more unnecessary product. I am sorry but I do not want a silver polishing cloth ($3). I just returned my last silver jewelry and am not intending on coming back any time. This manager is a pain and I have never seen this person despite our problem at the counter. I usually only write reviews that compliment a business, but today I was really stunned by how I was treated by "Sara" at this James Avery. Usually I shop at the Northpark store where I've always received excellent customer service. I came in to return a gift from my husband and possibly exchange it for something else. The salesperson, Sara, who waited on me, treated me with such disdain. She barely spoke to me. While I would really like to give her the benefit of the doubt, I just can't. Not only was she aloof, her attitude of contempt made me feel like I was not welcome, like I was disturbing her. She didn't seem to care if I was a satisfied customer or not. When my return/exchange ended up with a store credit, she treated me like I was trying to rip off the store when I asked for the remainder to be put on my credit card. (Could she have explained this to me please before making the transaction? I wasn't happy about this, but I get it....that this is their policy, but by then I was just so turned off by her discourteous demeanor.) Whether she meant that or not is not the point....the way she treated me made me feel like that.
