Staff's always friendly here. One of the few places near us now that certain other stores are closing that have craft specific stuff. I will say though we rarely buy things here but we visit for other events that involve interacting with the staff and they've always been wonderful. read more

On Friday at approximately 7:30 PM, we visited the Michaels store located at 15th Street and Highway 75 and purchased $435.06 worth of merchandise. While checking out at the self-checkout counter, we requested assistance because several of our items were breakable and needed something to wrap them in. The cashier, Macie, was the only employee working at the front of the store and one of only two employees working in the store at the time. She was assisting another customer and told us to use the bags at the counter to wrap the items. Because it was near closing and the plastic bags had not been restocked, there were very few available and there were no bubble wrap or paper to wrap breakables in. Following the cashier's instructions, we attempted to wrap our items as best we could. In doing so, we apparently used their new customer (aka: would you like to add your number to our system, coupon club) bags that were sitting at the counter, not realizing they were not intended for customer use. At best they one time use throw away bags. Which is why I didn't give it another thought. After completing our purchase, I placed my items in my car and returned the cart to the store. At that point, the cashier informed us that we were not supposed to take those bags. I immediately apologized and said I would gladly bring them back. However, the situation was communicated in a way that suggested we had intentionally taken them, and this occurred in front of other customers, which was extremely embarrassing. I returned to my car, retrieved the bags, and brought them back inside. I then asked for bubble wrap, which was provided at that time. I also asked to speak with the manager because I wanted to clarify the misunderstanding and explain that we had simply followed the cashier's instructions to use the bags available at the counter. The manager, Brynn, confirmed that there were only two employees working in the store at the time--herself and the cashier, Macie. During the discussion, it was mentioned that Macie relayed to the manager we had taken an entire stack of bags, which was inaccurate. Only two bags had been used, and they were returned immediately once we were informed. I asked to speak with the store's general manager so the situation could be escalated and properly addressed. However, Brynn refused to provide the general manager's name or contact information. When we went back to the front of the store, a police officer was present. At no point had I raised my voice or used inappropriate language; I had simply expressed disappointment at being accused of theft after spending a significant amount of money and following the instructions given by the cashier. It later became clear that the police had been called by a friend of Brynn's who was in the store and was not an employee. This individual appeared to be spending time with Brynn in the back of the store and called the police during the situation in defense of her friend. The officer stated he had been told that customers were yelling, which was not accurate. He asked Brynn whether she wanted us trespassed from the store, which she declined. What exactly would have occurred to warrant a trespass I've no idea. Unfortunately, the interaction with the officer was also unprofessional. He pointed his finger at me and told me to "mind my business and check out," and then proceeded to laugh and joke with Brynn and her friend. This entire experience was extremely disappointing and embarrassing. As a paying customer who spent nearly $500 in the store that evening, I expected to be treated with respect and professionalism. Instead, a misunderstanding escalated unnecessarily and left us feeling publicly accused of theft. I hope Michaels leadership will review this situation and address the customer service, communication, and management issues that occurred so that other customers do not have a similar experience. read more

They have 2 prices, if you shop on line you get 1 price, shop in the store and you pay on the average $2.00 -3.00 higher per sale item, they won't honor the internet sale price. 20 items at this rate will cost you 40.00 - 60.00 higher, I had a cart full of after Christmas sale items and it totaled over $200.00 according to internet sale prices. When I got to the register to check out, prices were coming up $2.00 -3.00 per item higher than internet sale prices. I spoke with mgr. and she said that was correct, lady checkout person said they have 2 prices and she couldn't match internet sales price, that it was their policy. That cured me of shopping Michaels right then and their, I walked out and left everything at the checkout !!!!!!!! They can stick it where the sun don't shine. The wait in line can get long sometimes as they usually have just one person working the checkout. There's hope though as they've recently introduced self-checkouts! Michaels has really taken a downhill turn. I came in looking for a variety of things... magnet tape, wooden letters, teacher items, wooden hanging shapes... they had nothing! The middle half of the store is completely empty. It's not even worth going into, especially bc Hobby Lobby is across the street. Probably half of the people we saw at Michael's were at Hobby Lobby with us after we left. Skip this place, go across the street to Hobby Lobby, they've got literally everything. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. Art isn't exact and sometimes you have to find ways around something if you don't have exactly what you are looking for. Both the cashier and the manager on duty were not very helpful this Sunday afternoon, April 16th. If I took the time to drive up to the store, they can take the time to show me around with what is available and what might possibly work in place of what I was looking for. But no, they copped an attitude and the manager even suggested I go to CVS which I could not even figure out why since the picture I had clearly showed a tool for art making. ugh. DO NOT GET ANYTHING FRAMED HERE!!!!!!!!! I got 3 pieces of artwork framed here, and they damaged a 1700 dollar piece. They denied that it was damaged, they kept it for 2.5 months giving me no updates unless I called, and just generally handled things very badly. I decided I was no longer willing to wait, and then picked it up today. I've gotten no money back for the damage, no money back for the framing where they damaged it, not even an apology. This is an original Takashi Murakami that was damaged. I am just getting into collecting fine art, I'm a new customer that you have lost. I will not use Michael's for framing, I will not go to Michael's, I will tell anyone that is willing to listen of this enormous injustice. Stopped by this location before meeting with a friend for lunch. The store was clean like most other Michaels. Thank goodness for my phone because I didn't see an employee until I was checking out. The store is set up completely different than the one in Euless. I was looking for 2 specific planners so I headed to where they would normally be in my usual store. Originally, I was going to give this location 3 stars. When my sister and I went in yesterday, no one was around to help us and the cashier was standoffish. We mentioned the Cricut buy 3 get 1 free deal and the cashier was aware. When we got home, we realized that one of the items wasn't Cricut brand so the deal didn't apply. We were a little irritated the cashier didn't bother to mention it, but in the end it really wasn't anyone else's fault but our own (sometimes we forget to read ). So, we decided to go back today to get the right items. We knew exactly what we wanted so we grabbed it and went to check out. The cashier, Sarah, was very cheery and was happy to help us even though we had a return. We explained the situation to her and she helped to make it a painless and rather enjoyable experience. My experience at Michaels was absolutely terrible. I came in to get a few supplies and everything there was so disorganized. It is also very unsanitary especially the floors. The only thing good about this place is a very sweet employee named Natalia. She knew what she was doing and absolutely amazing. Went to Michaels to get a Cricut Heat Press & I was so excited to see they actually had one in the store . I take the tag up to the register, he reaches for the box and says "it's empty". I politely asked him if he could check the back since they are advertising they have one , he refused . He just said I could have the empty box or I can go to Walmart . This location is, I guess, as organized and clean as any other location. I love art so I can honestly browse through this place all day long. The only thing that definitely bothers me is the cashier. Why is it that every single time I go and want to check out, there is only one cashier? There's a line of at least 5 customers and I see several other employees either chatting away in the back or just doing other things. I've been in retail before and from what I know, you should never let there be a line!! 2 customers are considered a line and when you see that you have to start opening up another register and start checking people out! It's even freakin worse when I'm in a hurry. I'm sure it was not just me that was fustrated because I overheard a couple of women behind complaining about how there are 2 guys just standing over there!! As for the other employees through the store... They're never really helpful anyways. No one greets you or anything even if you look lost trying to find something. Actually, I would barely even see employees on the floor. For such a big store, where the heck are all the employees?! I am a rewards member and that really pays off. I get daily notifications of coupons and sales and can really help on supplies I need. At check out it can be a bit tricky. The checkout peeps aren't always aware of the daily coupons that are running, so they seem perplexed about questions related. I would recommend having a reference available to validate what the sales are and how coupons apply. Otherwise, this is a great store. Like other reviewers, I think the prices here may be a little higher than competitors, but there's a key advantage: Michael's is open seven days a week and longer hours per day. It's a craft store and there are a bunch of things here. We've gone in for a couple different things. Here are some of the most notable things I've gone in here to buy: Business card magnets: You take a business card, take a magnet, peel the backing off and stick the card to the magnet and you now have a business card that sticks to your fridge! Awesome. Science Kits: I was going to buy my 7 year old nephew a motorized brush robot but I noticed the package was missing its plastic shrink wrapping and when I opened the box, the robot was half assembled already. Apparently it had been a return and they just put it back on the shelf. Boo. I, instead, bought the Smart Robot that is kinda like a Roomba without the vacuum. Yes, I'm trying to prod him in the direction of the dark side - Engineering. They of course have lots of fake flowers and trees, frames and pens, paints, etc. One thing I was kinda disappointed in was their selection of model rockets. All of the rockets they had in stock were either ready-to-fly or easy-to-assemble. When I was in elementary school and junior high, I used to launch rockets all the time and I loved assembling the rockets. That was probably the most fun part of it (launching the rockets meant you might lose it if the wind was too strong). Sad. read more

Pro tip: When it's around a major holiday, this Michaels location is insanely busy. However, they are one of the most consistently well stocked Michaels locations that you can find. And when you craft, quilt, and sew as much as someone like me, that's well worth fighting the crowded parking lot and playing frogger with cars while walking to the door. I haven't ever received bad customer service at a Michaels location, and this one falls in line with this model. I would just add that when it's around peak times, finding help for finding something in the store may be a bit difficult. So, make sure you have a mental map, or just plain wonder in this crafty wonderland until you find it. Craft hard, die young. read more

i love Michael's but the staff at this location are rude. i came in to get a new sketchbook, some copics and browse because they always have new stuff. i didn't see the issue with this as it's normal. When i come here i go down pretty much every aisle because i love Michael's. :/ i was followed throughout many aisles by the same employee. When I'd look at her she'd walk away. Then at the register the lady who checked me out was laughing as i walked out. i was wearing a baggy shirt and sweats and have tattoos and piercings. I'm sad because i spend a lot of money here and come very frequently. I'm tired of being profiled based solely upon looks. i am many things but a thief is not one of them. I really like Michael's products. They have a wide selection but mostly I like the quality of their selection. They also have prices that are cheaper quality but cheaper price but they make it clear: I think they call them every day products that you can buy if you just want to try out watercolor try out all painting or something. I appreciate all of that. What I do not appreciate is that they consistently use signage and coupons in a way to trick you into thinking that items are cheaper than they are. I have had this problem with them for years. Always read the fine print on the signs and on the coupons. Today I picked out several washibi rolls hung on a fixture. There was a huge sign at the top saying Clearance. There was a huge sign from the top of the fixture to the bottom of the fixture on the left side saying clearance. There was another sign from the top of the fixture to the bottom of the fixture on the right side saying clearance. So I took several of the items and asked what the price for since there was no price marked. They tried to tell me that one of them was regular price even though there were several items just like it start on that fixture. I basically just refused to go away so they did sell it to me for the clearance price. I had a 50% off coupon for the day so I bought some stickers for four dollars which with the coupon would've been two dollars. They took $.75 off only. When I asked they said well I'm sure if you read the fine print this is not included. I assured them that in fact it was not mentioned in the fine print. I had to call manager but I did get the 50% off. My recommendation for doing business with Michael's is to plan to spend a little extra time there. Take note of marked prices even to the point of just snapping a photo of the signage with your cell phone. Then when you get to the register don't let anything distract you, watch everything as it's rung up and make sure that you get the price that you believed it was. If they don't give you that price make them show you where the "fine print" Specifically excludes that item. In Texas if they advertise it for a certain price they have to give you that price. read more

Pretty much what you expect to get from your local Michaels. Decent selection of craft stuffs, at typical retail prices. Sometimes when things go on sale you can get yourself a good deal. The reason this particular location gets 2 stars is due to the fact that a Hobby Lobby is just across the street. The first time I visited this Michaels, I went in and got a rubber stamp and ink pad, then out of curiosity I mosey on over to Hobby Lobby and found the same ink pad for much less. After that experience, I figure, if you're in the area and are looking for a craft store, why would you come to this Michaels when the bigger, less expensive Hobby Lobby is across the street? read more

I am not actually a fan of Michaels. The olds and crafty tend to flock here in droves. There are certain things that you need that are crafty or should I say hobby related and need to pay them a visit. This particular visit I just needed flowers for a center piece on a dinning room table. Low and behold I found the perfect flowers and vase already made. I picked it up to purchase and when the girl rang it up at the counter, BAM 50% off. Hells yeah. I love saving money checks. I do shop here when I am looking for material or silk flowers or faux flowers if you will. I haven't really bought much else from this place. They have a lot of home decor, art supplies, yarns, threads, candy supplies, and many other craft supplies for those of you who are interested. They also do framing if you are needing a picture framed. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful and the place was super clean. read more

This is the Michael's location that my wife usually goes to if she needs crafty things or if we want decorations for Fall or Christmas. She's happy with the selection and never comes away empty handed. I recently went in to get a picture frame in a size that places like Target and Bed, Bath & Beyond didn't have. It was an odd size, so they only had one type available, but it was good enough for me. They seem to have quite a large and higher end frame selection that I would have expected, so it looks like I will be heading there next time something needs framing. read more

Came in looking for some ribbon for an office project. They only had one spool left of the plain blue ribbon I needed and a large ladder was in the middle of the aisle with no staff to be found.
