This busy Jamba Juice is located near the Hilo Premium Malls. For 7:30am, it's hoppng. The food items this young man is preparing smells delicious. Hot and crazy fresh. I ordered a Peanut Butter Mo'od with Energy and extra peanut butter. Great source of protein. It's a bit pricey but you pay for what you want. I have been a a Jamba Juice lover and customer for years but going to this particular one has ruined it for me completely. I tried to redeem my birthday reward (one small smoothie) and they wouldn't honor it. I ordered a small smoothie anyways and it ended up being over $10. As I was walking out one of the staff said to another staff member, " I can't believe she paid over $10 for a small smoothie." My thoughts were why was I charged over $10 if that's not the normal price. I didn't order anything added or extra so I'm not sure why I was charged that. I really should've questioned it after that comment was made but I walked out and with my $10+ smoothie and I haven't been back since. read more

We always stop by the Puainako Jamba Juice when we visit my parents since we don't have one back home. The Gotta Guava is our favorite but also love the White Gummi and Orange Dream Machine. This time we tried the White Gummi, Tropical Dragon and Island Pitaya Bowl. I especially love their Pomegranate pick me up with a boost of whey protein and sometimes with a touch of wheat grass. I go mostly during the summer months to Jamba Juice, because their smoothies cool me down, fill me up and taste soooo yummy! Another favorite, especially when I feel a little under the weather, is the ColdBuster. They also have pastries & pretzels, if you need a little more then a smoothie to satisfy your craving. This jamba juice location is no different from any other jamba juices I've gone to. It's small inside but there's seats for you to sit down while your drink is being made. It's located in one of the biggest plaza in Hilo with Starbucks, Yogurtland and other restaurants near the mall. The premise is kept really clean and the workers here are generally all nice. There's always enough parking. They also have some patio tables outside for you to talk stories outside the store. read more

I was standing in line waiting to take my order when the i think it was the manager walked in and started shouting at her coworkers working and making the drinks about how they weren't answering the phones. I found that to be so unprofessional especially since there were customers inside the store waiting for their orders. She should've taken the workers in the back or to the side and talked about it in private, not in front of customers. It made me feel so uncomfortable and I don't want to go back until that manager is talked to about being more professional. read more

This location is very inconsistent with their quality and promptness. Sometimes the experience is really good, with the employees being very nice and quick to get our orders prepared. Other times the drinks taste weird, the bowls are super sloppy, and the employees refuse to answer the phone even though it is not busy. It's a hit or miss at this location. If I'm going to pay $7 for a drink and $9 for a bowl, I'd at least expect consistency with what I'm getting. read more

Quite possibly the RUDEST workers ever! I went in with a girlfriend to order about 5 smoothies for a party on Saturday night. I went up to the counter girl and said 'Hi'. She looked at me like she hated my guts and said nothing. I ordered smoothies that were on the menu behind her and she said 'HUH?" like I was making them up. No thank you for a very large order. I love the shakes here! I almost always get the same one every time but the thing I've noticed here is that it always tastes good. Some of the other Jambas I've gone to haven't had that same consistency. Another problem I've had with other places is they don't clean their shake machines well enough and I can taste other things in my drink. (I drink the chocolate mood so it's pretty obvious when there's fruit in it!) Here I've had none of those problems and the staff is very friendly. I haven't tried much of the food but the tomato twist breadstick and the Belgian waffle are both good choices for a quick snack. read more

I just ordered a protein berry and I can't drink it. Very chalky and bitter tasting. Something has changed with the recipes and it's very noticeable. Wow, I have never tasted a chemical taste in any of my Jamba drinks (like the other reviewer) nor have I ever tried to order a straight banana smoothie......... I am so happy that there is a Jamba here to enjoy. I had my regular all fruit strawberry whirl on my first visit and the double protein on my other visits (now that I have taken the weight off I am trying to muscle up at the local Penn fitness muscle gym). Okay, so I'm on a mission now. My favorite smoothie place, Surf City Squeeze, got put out of business by Jamba Juice, and now I'm annoyed that I can't get anything other than the double J. When I first moved to San Francisco several years ago, I was so excited to have a chain like Jamba Juice offering healthy alternatives on every corner. Now that I can't find anything else, though, I'm a little miffed. Tired of all the same flavors, I decided to take JJ up on their "substitute any fruit" offer. I asked for a banana smoothie with nothing else. I've now tried it at different JJs, sometimes with juice, sometimes with nondairy mix, sometimes with the sherbet...as many different ways as I could. Here's the thing, though--it doesn't taste like banana. It tastes like chemical supplements, no matter what they mix with it. Now I can't have any jamba juice smoothie without tasting that chemical taste. It's really unfortunate, but I just want something that's really just fruit. The kicker for me was seeing that JJ is dominating in Kona on a recent trip to Hawaii. On an island where mangos, papayas, oranges, bananas, persimmons, lemons, and all kinds of other fruit grow outside your window, they make the same formulaic chemical smoothies. Very sad.
