Good food, good music nice place for lunch. Ate at the bar, service was okay. But I will be back.

The food here is always piping hot, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked. Service is always courteous, as you would expect in Jamaica The ambiance is always electric with the right tone, beautiful music, and welcoming staff.

The best Jamaican food my mother & I ever had! I had the oxtails they were so tender, they were failing right off the bone!!! My mom had the curry goat and it was so flavorful. Everything was so delish and fresh. The drinks were amazing as well! We really enjoyed the rum punch it was so refreshing. The customer service was amazing Tino made us feel like we were at home. We will definitely be back. Please come and support their business you will not be disappointed!!

5 Piece Portland Samplers

I ordered the sampler and it was really tasty. They get busy on the weekends so just a heads up if you visit.

I did not know that Jamaica was in Arlington. I have not been to Jamaica yet, but I know what the countryside tastes like now. The restaurant is located in a shopping center but it is off by itself so there is plenty of parking. When my friend and I walked into Jamaica Gates, we were greeted immediately and shown to our seats. We got there at about 6, so it was before the dinner rush. And our waiter Glen helped answer our questions about the food and the drink menu. They have happy hour from 3 - 7 Tuesday - Sunday, It was a really nice happy hour because you could pick any of the liquors from the middle shelf or their rum punch or wine for $5 and $2 off their appetizers. I chose the Jamaican greens. They were so tasty, and I also got their brown fish stew with red beans and rice and cabbage. When I heard stew, I thought it was going to be like a soup. It was a whole fish with a delicious sauce on top of it. It was cooked beautifully and so tender. The cabbage was tasty, and the rice and beans tasted authentic. My friend and I were there for hours because we were catching up, and the longer we were there, the busier it got. Before we left, we also got our free dessert. We wanted the Jamaican rum cake, but they were out. So we settled for the cheesecake. It was pretty tasty considering, but I had my mouth ready for the rum cake, so I'll be doing that next time. At around 8 PM, on Fridays, a DJ comes, and they actually have 2 DJs playing, so it started to get poppin. They are open late and I would love to go back on a Saturday when they have live music. If you want to go to Jamaica but it's not in the budget, this is the next best option! I can't wait to go back.

Escoveitch Fish with Rice & Peas. Highly recommend.

Jamaica Gates has become a favorite evening drop-in of mine! The vibes are always unmatched, the food is great and there is live entertainment on the weekends which is awesome! I came in this past Saturday for a group of 7, we were greeted and accommodated quickly. The food arrived quickly, was tasty as always and everyone enjoyed their cocktails.

I wanted to try some Jamaican food and this place did not disappoint. It was a lot spicy for me but I had enough Jamaican lemonade to aid with cooling down my mouth! I'll definitely go back!! It wasn't busy and the spacing was such that everyone was spread out around the dining room. The service was awesome and the young lady was very helpful. They had sports playing on the television but there was a stage setup for live music to be played in the evenings.

Authentic Jamaican cuisine. The food here was very delicious. The service was very professional pleasant and timely. The establishment was clean. There is plenty of seating and plenty of parking. This jewel of a restaurant is not too far from Dallas.

Ask the Community - Jamaica Gates Caribbean Cuisine

Does this restaurant serve any ital or vegan/vegetarian friendly dishes, like curry tofu or jerk seitan/gluten?

The only vegetarian friendly dish is the Rasta pasta. It's bow tie pasta with all vegetables. I saw a couple tables order it.

Well they got a fan for…read morelife if they keep doing that to me.......stew chicken was phenomenal.....one of the first places im stopping when I get back.....the restaurant was clean, open and inviting. Loved it. I was able to walk right in and pick up my food so they were prompt with prep and delivery. This is definitely a place I be back too.

I don't think i've had jerk chicken before and i think i came to the right place to try it out…read more... When we walked in, it was only people of color, so that indicator probably meant that i was in for a good authentic meal. The interior had multiple tables spreads around and on the right side of the building it was where the people were taking orders and preparing the food to take to your table. We ended up getting coco bread, chicken stew and half jerk chicken with fries. The stew came with two side dishes, so we ended up getting rice&peas and collar greens. The jerk chicken only came with fries but it was only 13 bucks. you do have the option to get jerk chicken with two sides, but that would have been 19 dollars. The coco bread was really fully and if you dip it into the stew chicken, it takes it to another level. Both dishes were excellent and the kick on the jerk chicken was spicy but not too bad where you couldn't enjoy it. Service was great, and they were friendly. Located right behind the McDonalds. All in all, i'll come back if i'm in the area.

SITUATION: I ordered food and had someone pick it up. This was a 20-min drive each direction. The restaurant mistakenly included someone else's order with ours and charged me an additional $33 for it. I spoke to the owner over the phone. She acknowledged the mistake of including and charging someone else's order, BUT she refused to refund me for that person's food unless we took the food back to her. I informed the owner it was a 20-min drive each direction but she didn't care. She continued to complain about her being out of $33 if we didn't take it back. I did not get a refund and logically, I can't think of any other reason she would demand the food back unless the plan was to repackage and sell the food to someone else. I URGE you to be very careful, people....
