Our First impression as soon as we walk in was how spacious and cozy it looked. Walking to the counter to see how many treats they had was priceless, trying to choose one was hard, we wanted to get everything: ) I tried a delicious chicken parmesan croissant my honey ordered a Parma Croissant that looked and tasted delicious. I also got a Peach Margo Green tea refresher that tasted nothing like Peach Margo. But everything else was really good. The staff was friendly during my visit, and I didn't run into any issues service-wise. I'll be honest...I'm not the biggest fan of pre-made sandwiches that have been sitting for a bit, and unfortunately the sandwich I tried didn't really wow me. I was expecting a little more flavor, especially from the turkey. I didn't try a pizza slice, though I was told it's good. The pastries, however, were a highlight. The Dubai tart was flavorful but on the drier side for my taste (definitely needed some milk). The pumpkin croissant was very light and airy--absolutely loved that one. Drink-wise, the tiramisu latte with oat milk was tasty and a solid 7.5/10. The strawberry lemonade with boba was just okay for me--nothing fancy, but I'd be open to trying a different drink next time. Overall, the ambiance was really cute. A nice mix of people working on laptops and groups catching up, which made the space feel cozy and inviting. Definitely a lovely spot and worth checking out at least once.

"Through the long, lonely nights she filled my sleep Her…read morebody softly swaying to that smoky beat Down on Main Street" (Bob Seger) We've heard a lot of good things about the ice cream at Main Street Creamery, and since checking out new ice cream joints is a favorite pastime of ours, we stopped by the other day. It's in the Old Wethersfield part of time, and if you haven't been there, its definitely a sweet place to park your car, go for a stroll, and check out the shops on (you guessed it,) Main Street. Main Street Creamery is a blue building with a few indoor tables and outdoor seating. We saw big trays of cookies, brownies and macarons on their counters, but of course the real star of a place with "Creamery" in their name is their ice cream, and they sure knock ice cream out of the park. Hard ice cream, frozen yogurts, sorbet, sherbet, Milk Shakes, Malts, Ice Cream Floats, Razzles, and Sherbet Coolers are on the menu. Want to bling out your ice cream with some extras? How about over 20 toppings to pile onto your dish? Among their over 50 hard ice cream flavors are some intriguing ones and some clever names, like Nerds Explosion, Espresso Ripple Bean, Coconut Candy Bar, InstaGRAHAM, Apple Caramel Crumb, Pumpkin Gingersnap, and three Peanut Butter based flavors - PB Nightmare, PB Dream, and PB Oreo. Ice cream cups range from $5 to $8, and we both went with a small for $6. Even though they were advertised to include one scoop, our friendly young scooper gladly offered to include two flavors in each small cup, and between you and me, it sure seemed like she exceeded that "one scoop" limit. Our four flavors included Coconut Candy Bar, PB Dream, White Russian, and Black Raspberry Oreo. Our first impressions were that #1 the ice cream was very smooth and creamy, with zero traces of ice crystals, #2 the flavors were fantastic, and #3 we were spooning up some of the very best ice cream we've had in a while. We were very glad we finally checked out Main Street Creamery. Sitting on a bench on a beautiful summer day in a scenic small-town street, while eating some great ice cream was one of the real seasonal pleasures of life. Go check it out and enjoy. PRO TIPS Cash or Venmo only, no credit cards. There is an ATM on site. Don't overlook their freezer with Pup Cups, pints, and ice cream pies

It's absolutely loaded with graham cracker and chocolate chips which is my biggest critique with other places. The flavor of the graham cracker base was so strong too which is very hard to find. My fiancé got the 'cow tracks' which was also FILLED with mini peanut butter cups, chocolate chunks and peanut butter. I'm not even a huge peanut butter person but it was so delicious I kept asking for bites. I went to their original locations years ago and remember it being good but it was truly great! I don't think it's a secret this place is on the pricey side but you can TASTE why. It's very very hard to find great ice cream and they've nailed it. Might have to go again next weekend!

I've had food prepared by Nancy (the owner) before and always had my taste buds yearning for more, but last night I was able to step into the kitchen with her and take one of her informative, fun and very delicious cooking classes. I went with my team from work, and it was a great environment where once we all strapped on our Ginger & Pickles aprons, we were all able to "let our hair down" so to speak... We were greeted with a fabulous wine and cheese board, along with a phenomenal Brie baking away for us. We were given a menu of what we would all be cooking and enjoying that evening, pre chosen by our team leader. The menu was well planned, well written and not at all stuffy or overly complicated. Our "Valentines Day Date Night" menu included a wonderful beef tenderloin with a cream sauce, haricots verts with shallots and soufflés we made. So so so good! People work in teams on recipes and it really helps the evening flow. While 2 people are working with Nancy (and sometimes her assistant Brooke), the rest are taking in wine, Brie and observing some new techniques in the kitchen. Once one team is complete, The next team moves on to the next section of the menu. Before you know it, dinner is being played and served. Everything came out so well, it was as if we were dining out at your favorite restaurant. Nancy is able to answer all your questions and explain why things are done one way versus another, or give you ideas and tips on how to increase your own culinary skills at home. I will definitely be bringing friends here for some classes in the future.

"She got muffins for sons, she got cornbread too Sweet rolls…read moreand jelly, boys I'm really tellin' you She had the baker shop boogie It's the nicest thing in town" (Willie Nix) We had a wonderful visit to Bake Market today and walked out with a ton of high-quality stuff for under $39 before tax. Our haul included a big tray of eggplant parmesan ($11.99), a small container of chicken salad ($7.99), a big container of Street Corn Salad ($11.99), a serving of Mango Pineapple Bread ($2.95) and Coconut Zucchini Bread ($2.95), and an Everything Biscuit (just $1.49). Bake Market has refrigerated and freezer cases on the walls with entrees and pastas and sauces and salads and desserts. It reminded me of the Pasta Vita store we used to visit in Avon. We split the chicken salad for lunch on Wednesday and enjoyed it very much, it was heavy on diced chicken and light enough on the diced celery and mayo that it was very hearty and not overrepresented by the rest. We decided to split the Everything Biscuit with lunch and I really liked the texture and savory taste of the everything spice. We split the Street Corn salad for Friday dinner, and it was a big portion of sliced Romaine, diced bacon, sliced radishes, roasted corn, tortilla strips, and grated Cotija cheese. It was very good; the lettuce was super fresh with plenty of bacon and corn. We split the Mango Pineapple Bread for dessert and that was excellent too. It was dense, sweet, full of flavor, and quite wonderful. The Coconut Zucchini Bread was so-so. I didn't think it had much of a flavor, and besides the blandness it was incredibly messy with shredded coconut everywhere. Our Bake Market sampling ended with their Eggplant Parmesan. It was a massive 2-lb tray that cost just $11.99. And how can I NOT mention that containers of fresh pasta AND sauce were included! We made four servings out of it. The eggplant parm was made out of a very thick single slab of breaded/fried unpeeled eggplant, and not the multiple layers of thin slices stacked up lasagna-style you customarily see. It had plenty of sauce and plenty of cheese, but how was the eggplant itself? I gotta tell you, when I saw that thick slab, my radar went up because I had a feeling it would be rubbery, tough, and unappetizing. But my doubts were short-lived after my first bite. It was delicious and tender and full of flavor without a hint of grease. Honestly, it was one of the best representations of eggplant I've had in a while. So, there you have it, a nearly perfect score on a variety of foods, and a very satisfactory $39 haul that scored high on quality and value.

I didn't know what to expect, but it was delicious -- the perfect mesh of flaky and doughy textures with the slight warmth was divine. I also saw they had pistachio matcha lattes so I decided to try one. It was surprisingly pretty tasty despite the color not being a very deep green. They also offer several samples, which I was excited about, but I was disappointed because they were all salty -- even the zucchini bread that I expected to be more neutral/sweet. The bagels were also very flat. Maybe their sweets just happen to be better?

Although I tasted each one and I am super happy with the flavors and the creaminess, I decided to have a serving of the Connecticut River fudge with a couple of toppings and waffle chips Yummmm Every bite either had fudge or a miniature peanut butter cup or both. You just can't go wrong with adding peanut butter to pretty much anything. I recommend all three flavors and I will be ordering again. They also make ice cream chocolate chunk cookie sandwiches. I did not order any but I did find out from Matt that they are recently in the Big Y near me, Middletown. I will be trying them soon.
