My man and I went today, Friday, at 11 am when they opened. When we go, we try to sit at the bar and whomever is behind the bar is always friendly and welcoming. He ordered the burrito grande and I had the fajitas baked potatoe and they came out quick, hot, and yummy! Price is always reasonable for the food you get. There is one guy that serves the food that we have had issues with in the past of him jamming plates into our arms and being rude so we specifically ask for him NOT to bring our food to the table. My daughter, granddaughter, wife and I met there yesterday for dinner. We arrived around 5:30. The environment was so noisy that I couldn't understand anyone at my table. We had to yell at each other. I ordered a simple beef taco salad. It was the worse taco salad that I have EVER had in my entire life. The hard shell bowl was brown and tasted rancid. The beef was blond colored. The amount of food in the bowl was pitiful. I didn't want to make a scene and just stirred it around with my fork. My wife ordered chimichangas which were both very small but she said tasted good. She had a hard shell bowl on her plate too, but it held lettuce, tomatoes, etc. Her's was real brown and tasted rancid too. Why would they serve rancid food? I have wanted to try Jalepenos for quite some time and I was able to just recently! I was not able to sit down in the restaurant but I did grab takeout. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by two employees and I told them I was picking up a takeout order and they informed me that I could go to the bar to retrieve my food. The bartender handed me my food and I was told to have a great day! I ordered a large queso and chips and it was really good! I am looking forward to trying dishes next time! read more

Review based on food and experience. I will preface by saying I might be a bit based because it has been 4 years since having Mexican food in the states. Also adding my two cents in seeing as there were more negative reviews than positive. Honestly the place wasn't too bad. Clean and the service was pretty good as well. We got there after 5:30pm, which was great for beating the dinner rush. I wanted to order the enchiladas poblano but was told they were out. No big deal, there's quite a bit to chose from on the menu. I wish I got a picture of the Al pastor tacos my hubby ordered which were also a hit. Looking for something new, and on errands to the shopping area, we tried Jalepenios today. At 1:30p they were honestly bust, indoors and on the nice patio. Hopeful for a good introductory visit we went to our table. The servers were all polite, prompt, personable, engaging, attentive and professional. Ours even had a good sense of humor. The menu is more widespread than many in the area in variety. Placed our orders and awaited our selections. They arrived quickly enough, with nice presentations. And, hot! Now thoughts on them... Chips and salsa are prepared in house and better than many. Margaritas are sweet and somewhat taste of soda pop. Not dry, and not tart. Food items were ample and prices for them good. Tamales were wrapped in a thicker than I'm used to wrapper, and both those and the enchiladas were topped with an almost 'Mole' driven brown sauce. All items had good portions with good and well cooked meats inside. All told, fair food for fair prices, and you'll keep your socks on...they won't be knocked off. read more

We love Jalapeños! We've tried almost every location in the Savannah area and this is one of our favorite. Love the outdoor patio! The service is always great for how busy they are. The food is yummy and consistent with all of their other locations. I don't think I've ever waited longer than 15 minutes for my food, even on a busy night! This location is awful!!! Several people warned me about it but I still decided to give it a chance, never again!! I ordered takeout, they said 10 to 15 minutes, great right? No, we started eating in the car as my kids were hangry, I saw the chicken nuggets and they looked so dark, when I touched them were cold and appeared to be store bought nuggets and just fried over. We also ordered carne asada tortas, the meat was cold and bland no seasoning whatsoever, it was missing the avocado and poorly made. Disgusting food, KFC nuggets are a million times better than Jalapeños's nuggets, and at least they are honest and tell you it is fast food. Go to Pooler that location is delicious read more

I've been to this location several times, the food is better than okay, drinks are good. Wait staff very friendly; however, I usually think the portions are on the small side. I went in with my family last night, and I was hungry so looked over the menu to find something filling. I settled on the "burrito grande." The food came out and my burrito was the tinniest little burrito. About 3 inches long with the end folds and about two inches in diameter. There couldn't have been more than 3-4 oz of filling inside. I asked my wife, "do you think this is a joke?" I thought it was so over the top ridiculous so I complained and sent it back. I really questioned them on how they could call it a "burrito grande" when it's so tiny, The manager said that's how it is and it's "just a name." I'll never go back. read more

Typical Mexican chain restaurant. Same menu as all the others. Same drinks.. Upon walking in the hostess seats us and we get our chips and salsa. The language barrier is a bit rough especially with how LOUD the place is. I don't speak Spanish but can usually make it work. But it was hard this time with the noise. The food was nothing special. My husband ordered the Carne AlSada which was the thinnest steak I had ever seen. My beef taco salad was cold and the shell was soggy. The rice was good but nothing special. Trying to track down a waiter for payment was difficult. Prices were too much for what we ended up getting. Nothing left over but beans and rice. Plenty of chips though, so if that's your thing then this is the place. If you want good Mexican food I would keep looking. read more

We were not thrilled with Jalepenos in Pooler so we didn't check out the Rincon one right away. We were pleasantly surprised. We liked the decor and the openness of the place. Some high points, the sweet tea was good and the salsa was excellent. The food was flavorful and more than enough to satisfy. We also tried desserts, the fried ice cream and the sopa. NOTE: the fried ice cream comes with chocolate and strawberry syrup - if you want it with traditional honey just ask and they will do it. I would not say the food or our experience was amazing however it was a positive experience. It isn't our go-to for Mexican but we will be back. read more

Very disappointed with the unprofessionalism of this restaurant. Our server Casey was unprofessional. To begin with our table wasn't clean, there was 3 check books left from previous customers, she told my husband she would get them later. She took our order, never came back. Only came back to hand us the check. My order was wrong. When picking up plates from the table next to us, she turned and sat their dirty plates on our table in front of us. VERY RUDE. As it is always crowded we were hoping for a great Mexican meal. Boy were we disappointed. Probably the worst we have very had. My steak fajitas were almost too tough to chew and had absolutely no flavor. My wife had the rellenos that except for the peppers were tasteless as well. The burrito had barely any meat, hardly anything at all if you ask me, and the avocado and jalapeños were all in one side of the burrito so I just got a mouthful of avocado. Couldn't even spread the food out evenly. For the price I will never come back. This place deserves every bad review it gets. They must already be doing bad because they are stingy with the portions. I sue the god and had to make myself something else to eat because it was so little. What a disgrace of a food establishment. Subway and Chick-fil-A are cheaper and you get more food lmao. To begin everything we ordered was cold, the steak tacos I ordered was filled mostly chicken and a small amount of steak and soggy tortillas. The taco and enchilada meal was poorly thrown in the box and also missing all the toppings. The rice and beans that were supposed to come with the meal was hardly the correct portion, a tablespoon of rice and a disappointing amount of beans. The only thing that was good was the Guacamole. Very dissatisfied with this jalapeños. Twice in two weeks I've came here and they have closed early. On line says open to 10 pm and when I've came in at between 9 and 930 they our open and have told me they are closing early and no longer taken orders when I all I was trying to do is get a carry out. If this is the way you will run your business then you should put on online we will close and 9 not 10 and that you can choose to close early at your own convenience. Make sure if you choose to come here don't come anytime after 9 go to another place and don't waste your gas and time. Food tasted microwaved. It came out fast which tells me they don't take the time to focus on cooking. My sons quesadilla was like rubber. You could tell it wasn't even put in a pan to be heated. It was probably cooked from frozen. They wouldn't substitute any sides. I asked for extra vegetables and no rice and beans and they balked and said they don't do substitutions. They said the manager wasn't there to ask so they wouldn't do it. So much for customer service I guess. I won't be back or recommend this place. Will stick to Mi Mundo. I have never had an issue until tonight, the lady who took our order had me repeating every order 3 or more times, the order was wrong so it had to be fixed and the quality of the food wasn't like it normally is. My chicken nachos with no onions, which I have gotten 6/7 times before had no onions, no bell peppers and no tomatoes, there was barely any chicken. My friends chicken quesadillas half less than half of it with meat she had to open and scrape the meat across them to have a whole quesadilla.
