Another local Mexican option around town. I don't think i would go out of my way again to come here. The place was empty as we walked in. A couple and family of four came in after us. This place wouldn't be my top choice for Mexican. I had a hankering for paella and they had it on the menu. I should've known better than to expect an authentic paella. It was basically saffron rice on a plate with what tasted like frozen seafood. It mentioned chorizo but there was none. The shrimp however were huge and tasty. Their food was really good, the portions were large and the prices reasonable. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean and well-kept. The mole sauce was not to my liking but I was spoiled with authentic Mexican food while in Arizona. The sauce was still good just not to my taste. Everything else was great and all the food being served around me looked and smelled fantastic. I would recommend giving this place a try for locals as a change of pace. I recently tried a take-out order of tamales, one of their weekend specials. Again, the portion size was large and the price very reasonable. The pork (puerco) tamale was a bit dry and not as spicy as I am used to but the flavors were good. The chicken (pollo) was a bit more moist and had some heat to it. Definitely bring a nice cold Corona or favorite drink or order a Horchata to go along with it. Even though the tamales were not exactly what I am used to I would certainly order them again and recommend trying them out. A basket of complementary (yummy) chips and salsa graced our table quickly while we looked over the menu. Our table ordered a variety of soft tacos without the onion and cilantro, the Chiles Rellenos and we shared a serving of flan for dessert. Additionally, we ordered the quesadillas and we were pleasantly surprised by how full of cheese and chicken they were. EVERYTHING was delicious and exactly how we ordered it. I have been to this place a few times before and the food, while not quite stellar, has been satisfactory and overall pretty good. It is not far from my home so tonight I thought I would give it a go for their fajitas,,,I am HUGE lover of fajitas. The good news first. The nachos and salsa they provide to your table was (were) terrific. The chips are fresh and tasty and the salsa is likely hand crafted. This raised my hopes for the rest of the meal. When my order arrived (very quickly I might add..again a plus) I was pleased to see that they provided enough accessory items on the "boat" to adequately fill the four tortillas without the need to request more....which is something I nearly always have to do. Again, the ingredients were fresh and savory. Now the bad news. The steak used in the fajitas was a poor cut, It was, sadly, nearly inedible. Tough and gristly. In the proper steak fajita one should be able to bite through the steak pieces such that the entire piece does not pull out of the tortilla. This was an enormous disappointment. I have no problem with the price of the entrée at $ 14.95 as it does include the aforementioned chips and salsa which are notable of themselves, but I also believe that no matter what a meal costs, if it cannot be enjoyed then it is never money well spent. I won't say that I would never go back there but if and when I do I would not be ordering that item again. RMacs Bar, a bit further west on White Horse Pike, has excellent steak fajitas and in the future I will make the trip there when the whim strikes. read more

I am shocked this place has four stars! My boyfriend and I ordered take out from here we got tacos and the Caramones la Diabla. My boyfriends tacos were extremely bland. He got chicken and beef tacos. They were cold and reminded me of Taco Bell tacos except less flavorful. The shrimp I ordered was so over cooked I felt like I was chewing bubble gum. The sauce it came in was spicy but really oily. My order was hot though in comparison to my boyfriends order. The black beans and rice it came with also had no flavor to it at all. We also ordered Churros which were undercooked. The Jarritos drinks were good as usual, but you can't really go wrong with a bottled beverage. How this restaurant gets anything but 5 stars is beyond me. My wife and I finally tried it after driving by it numerous times and commenting that we should every time we did. Itzianna was our waitress and she was a delight. She came to us within seconds of us being seated with chips and salsa and was very pleasant. She even brought us an extra salsa that had more spice when we asked if there was a hotter one. I had the steak campirano and my wife had fish tacos. Then the "queso" which is literally cheese whiz. Faux orange cheese is NOT queso. Unacceptable. I did complain through Grubhub and they refunded me $8- a third of the price. I was visiting my parents in South Jersey from California and had a craving for Mexican food. Being from California, I have a high bar for Mexican food and my parents suggested Jalapenos. We ordered takeout for chicken enchiladas, cheese enchiladas and a seafood chimichanga. In general, the food was decent but I'm handing out three stars for this one for a few reasons: 1. Pretty pricey for basic Mexican cuisine, 2. The enchiladas were dry (not enough sauce), 3. Cardinal sin for a Mexican joint: No tortilla chips and salsa. Entrees range from $13-$19. As a benchmark, one of our favorite high-end California Mexican restaurants ranges from $15-$20 and this food does not even compare. The whole point of an enchilada is the saucy goodness. So, where's the sauce!!!? The enchiladas we ordered were dry and get this...if you want more sauce, they charge you for it. Seriously!!!? So, make a dry enchilada by skimping on the sauce and then profit from it by charging for more sauce!? Bush league. Note to owner: You will not go bankrupt by adding a couple more tablespoons of sauce to the enchiladas. Finally, if you dine in, the restaurant will give you chips and salsa. If you take-out, they will not. Why??? It's not like you are paying any less for take-out. Some advice to the owner: Stop nickeling and diming your customers especially when your prices are already sufficient. Add extra enchilada sauce, give chips and salsa and you will endear yourself to customers and create loyalty for them to keep coming back for more. Skimping on basic things that are not going to cost you a whole lot will turn people away, like me. read more

Owner calls later that night offering a half-hearted apology & explains rice is no longer rice unless it has peas & corn in it, because RICE. He rambles on and makes excuses for poor service to the point I just have to hang up on him. Just embarrassing...but wait there's more! He texts me & explains to me that if I have allergies I need to explain it whenever I order anything so none of this will ever be a problem again. I had to tell him to stop harassing me. I love Mexican food and wanted to love this place. The servers are friendly, the new location and decor look great. Chips and salsa were good and fresh and the happy hour prices on drinks were good. I should have stopped there .... Margarita tasted like a mix ... same with the guacamole. The jalapeno poppers were definitely previously frozen and not house-made. Beef tacos were bland. Steak for the fajitas was oddly cut into strips, and no sign of any fresh cilantro anywhere. Rice and beans nothing special, seemingly from a can. And the worst part, both my plate and my husband's came out with BROWN chopped lettuce. I mean, if your lettuce isn't fresh, just leave it off the plate!!! no one will miss some iceberg, but how can you serve BROWN lettuce to customers??!!!
