Terrible experience. I had been talking with a sales representative, Kabir for days. We scheduled a time to test drive a Nissan Rogue. I read the reviews online and saw a lot of negativity, but I wanted to give them a shot because this car checked all our boxes. We showed up to the dealership and Kabir greeted us with zero friendliness and informed us that "you can look at the car, but someone is inside right now signing a deal for it" we questioned him a little more to understand the significance of the deal, and it sounded like the car had already been sold. We understand this can happen, however we told him a phone call would have been appreciated since he knew we were driving 1 plus hours to see the car. I also would like to mention as a female buying a car, the associate only shook my fathers hand and did not acknowledge me until I gestured to shake his hand to let him know I would be purchasing the car. We when we were discussing the car, I mentioned that many other people had this same experience at this dealership and he turned his body away from me and only knowledge my father. I went in to purchase a new KIA Niro and negotiated a fair price with the salesman. Moments later the sales manager comes back and nixes the deal and wants to add $2,000 to it. I, of course, said I wasn't going to do that and walked out. The sales manager was an incredible prick, but I am actually here to thank him as I got the exact same vehicle at Jeff Wyler Eastgate for about $1,000 less than the price I had agreed upon with the salesman prior to the manager intervention. Also, when they drove/inspected my vehicle for trade, they apparently didn't care for my radio station as they changed it and left it on. AND, they left me a nice empty can as a souvenir. When I brought it up, the salesperson was mortified. The sales manager said "it wasn't a big deal." WARNING: my powertrain warranty was just voided for me buying tires outside of Kia. Tires that have nothing to do with powertrain. I guess have to be purchased from Kia. I bought a brand new car in 2020 I have been bringing it to them from an hour away, always on time to get my oil changed to keep my powertrain warranty. No one explained to me when I bought the car that I had to get tires and everything else only from Kia it is truly unbelievable. Six years of driving all the way out there for their overpriced oil changes for them to just screw me over like this over tires. Anyone that buys a car from here should be warned and you also should not buy a car from there period. I have never been so upset. And all the service people told me was yeah the hello you just wake up on your own. You have the TV on. finance people should tell you this nobody told me. What a complete joke. I purchased a 2025 Sportage Hybrid from this dealership and have had a couple of bad experiences with them. After purchasing, they indicated they had detailed the car even though the car never moved from where I parked it after test driving it (Kia Access App.) Then, the vehicle consistently achieved 12-13 mpg less on the highway than what Kia advertised and I opened a case with Kia America. KA had me take it to Sweeney Kia to have a diagnostics test done. Sweeney said that nothing showed on the diagnostics test and that my vehicle wasn't the issue but my "driving style" was to blame for the poor mpg. They actually asked me to sign a paper saying my "driving style" was the reason the car obtained 13 mpg on the freeway less than Kia advertises (to which I refused). I'm sorry, but this will be long. My alternator went out on July 3rd, so I had it taken to Kia because I had a problem with the brakes (ABS)nobody could figure out and was told I should take it to Kia. Mind you, my car was there for 4 months. So I'm going to try to shorten this with no names and going back and forth. So the alternator took a while because they kept dropping the ball, and I'm renting my car. It ended up costing $ 2000.00 in rental until finally they gave me a loaner on Sept. 10th. So they said it was the ABS Module, and they kept dropping the ball on that. So on Sept. 10th, I asked how much the total was by text and was quoted $ 1927.00. Then I got there to pick up my car, and the new total was $ 3000.00. He said, "Go on and take the car, and we will figure out the financing." So I left, and right away, the same problem was there. It didn't resolve the problem. So I took it back, and they came back with a lot of things that need to be done, so I'm already into Kia $ 5000.00, this is including the car rental. I said, "Well, the abs module didn't need to be replaced because the problem was still there." Then my brother went with me, and now they said they drove it and it was an axle. They said they would pay for it. It was $ 1600 and something, but my warranty paid for it. Kia paid only $ 200.00 deductible. So they got off easy. So I have this huge bill for something that didn't get fixed. He gave me the original price and $ 300.00 off, which I still had to finance. I'll probably be dead by the time I pay it off. Nice of me to pay for a part I didn't need. In the end, one of the guys commented, KIA We are covered for a $200.00 deductible associated with the repair of the axle. We have also provided a rental vehicle for the duration of this process at no charge to you. My response Wow, I also paid $2000 for a rental car because you guys dropped the ball so many times. Kia, Patricia, we are not asking you to pay any more money than you agreed to on Friday at the conclusion of the meeting we had. We are not asking you to participate in the repair cost of the axle. Me Because you didn't pay for it. I did leave the owner 3 voicemails and went into the dealership, but he wasn't there. Nobody knows his schedule. There is so much more. I have asked for the service manager and every single time he is "unavailable" I have left voicemails have even left my information and told them to contact me and nothing. Have even had to show up in person multiple times to try to speak to a manager and they are never available. It wasn't until the last time I came in and started saying out loud in front of customers how terrible this place is that a manager came to speak to me. When I explained to this manager the situations he straight up laughed in my face and laughed about the very car that I purchased from them saying how unreliable it is!! I stated my frustrations and how I can never get in touch with the service manager so he said he will "do me a favor" and give him my information for him to call me. It's been about a week now and no call or answer. It's getting to the point I would rather go into negative equity and go to a different dealership so I don't have to ever deal with this place and this team again. Put a $1000 deposit on a Kia Soul. When it came in, tried to do the paperwork over the phone. They added a $1,599 "accessories" to the invoice proposal. Only when I asked did they tell me it was some kind of EPAP warranty. They him-haw'd around why they were trying to charge me for it and said they could reduce it to $399 (after I pushed back). I immediately lost trust in them and felt like everything was shady. When I went in to pick up the car when it came in, they had lots of errors on the paperwork because they had my profile for the deposit and my husband's driver's license and info to co-sign for my daughter (they had my birthdate with his ss and driver's license number). The car was missing a cap on the rear bumber for the hitch attachment and if I hadn't said anything they didn't bring it up (brand new car!!). They are an example of why people hate the car buying experience. What's funny is that I need to buy 4 more cars in the next year (three cars with over 130K miles and a new driver), and they could have had that business. But I'll be taking my business elsewhere for my next vehicles! UPDATE: Just read a review from another customer who caught the $1,599 EPAP warranty they tried to slide in without consent!!! My experience with Jake Sweeny Kia went from great to horrible in the span of just over a month. I originally visited by myself, spoke with Cody, and test drove a Sorento. I was so impressed (with both the salesperson and the vehicle) that I came back a few days later with my girlfriend to show her. While we weren't ready to buy at the time, we decided that the Sorento was now our top choice. Fast forward to Saturday morning, 6/26. Our sales person was Don. We stopped in to primarily determine what offer they would give us on a trade in (a part of the conversation we never even got to) and inquire about their best price on an SX or X-Line trims (the top two trims, by the way). This is where things went downhill. The only Sorento they had on the lot was a white model with a lesser trim. We stated we weren't really interested, but figured since it was the only one there, it would be worth looking into. After a 10 minute hiatus, the salesperson comes back and tells us that model is already sold. So we then ask about incoming models. We're told there would be a few coming in in late July/August, but were never actually shown a spec sheet or invoice pricing on any of them after repeated requests. The salesperson actually laughed at us when I asked for both the invoice and their best out the door price. I then inquired about factory ordering a vehicle. We were shown Kia's website and nothing more. No build sheets. No numbers. Nothing. Finally he said something along the lines of "once you figure out what you want, let us know". I told you what I want. You didn't show us a @#$% thing that would allow one to make an informed buying decision. Every question asked was met with a "let me go talk to someone" response. It gets worse. After leaving, I received a text from the Sales Manager (Chris?) asking why we didn't purchase a vehicle. I replied letting him know everything above, and advised that a dealer that refuses to show customers their invoice pricing or offer to negotiate, even in today's market, is engaging in shady business practices. His response basically amounted to this, "I take offense to that. You're welcome to go somewhere else". It was the rudest response I have ever received from any dealership employee, period. And this will be my fourth vehicle purchase. Jake Sweeny Kia failed, and they failed hard. If you looking here, ask for Cody and make sure it's Chris' day off :) EDIT: A few days later someone reached out to me (assuming it was a GM) via a form-letter email. The signature on the email did not match the email address, which was odd (different names). The provided phone number was also incorrect. When I called and asked for either of these two people, I was transferred to the voicemail of a third person. No one returned my voicemail, nor did they reply to my email. They absolutely do not care about you as a customer, as they know in today's economy there will always be someone else willing to shell out what you wont. read more

I came to get an oil change and my experience was awful. The oil change took about 45 minutes , and that is with an appointment. Next the guy comes out and tells me that while rotating my tires they broke the lug nut. Next he told me they have to order the part so I will have to come back the next day. I live in Covington so Florence is not exactly close to me. I come back the next day and he tells me it will be an hour. A hour to replace a lug nut?? This is ridiculous. I'm disabled at the moment on short term disability and due to high medical bills had to file bankruptcy. I needed a co-signer which I had. I told him, I wasn't paying the sticker price and my monthly payments can't go over a certain amount as I'm on a fixed income. HE ASSURED THROUGHOUT THE WEEK AND JUST PRIOR TO SIGNING PAPERWORK THAT, He understands and he'll take care of me. "I won't pay sticker price." I told him, "If you can't do this, let me know because I have another car at Hyundai I was interested in." He continues to say, he'll get me a deal. He put the entire loan, registration and title in my "co-signers" name. I'm NOWHERE ON ANY OF THE DOCUMENTS. I can't even get my car insured under me! This was never addressed. Then I get home and look at the paperwork, HE IN FACT DID NOT GIVE ME ANY TYPE OF DEAL. "I'M" PAYING STICKER PRICE AND MY PAYMENTS ARE NOT IDEAL .Stacey took advantage of my situation and he lied to me and my co-signer to get a sale. I'm still within the 3 business days of having the car retuned. By Wednesday if things are not fixed and resolved, I will be dropping the car off on the lot. Their price was $1500 less then any other Kia dealership in the Tri-State area. A fully loaded 2020 Kia Forte GT2 for under $22k was a steal. Bray was my sales rep and with the Covid-19 mess we did everything online. It was painless. I went to buy the car and was out in less then 2.5 hours, including test drive. As part of our purchase, we ordered several parts that would need to be ordered and installed by the dealer at a later date. No big deal. However, we are almost a month out and my husband cannot get clarification from Ricky or the parts department as to what is going on. He keeps getting passed back and forth between the two. At this point, it needs to be resolved...like now. Secondly, and the most important part-our tags have expired. We have received nothing from the dealer and can get no response regarding that. Did they not file the proper paperwork with the county? Did the county lose the paperwork? We don't know because no one can call us and tell us. At this point, if we get pulled over and ticketed for tag issues, the dealer will be responsible for their incompetence. Oh and Andy Fuhrman called today to make sure we fill out the survey (that we have yet to receive). I bought a car from Jake Sweeney in Florence on Saturday July 11th. On the way home, before i75 and i71 divide, the transmission dropped out and error lights started blinking. They were closed, so I had to go back home with emergency lights on, much lower than speed limit. AutoZone and the various transmission shops I talked to told me there is no way it broke in the less than 15 minutes it took for me to drive off the lot - they had to have disconnected the battery to clear the error notices. They are refusing to fix it OR tow it back. This means they want me to risk my life driving it back so they can KNOWINGLY resell a car with a broken transmission. I can't afford to tow it back. I am so so upset with Jake Sweeney Kia! The people were nice and I even bought two cars from them but the amount of problems I have had after the fact is so unacceptable! First, we all pay an arm and a leg for registration fees, license plates, and taxes so why did I have to go down to Kia (45 minutes from my house) to get a second temporary license plate and then when the second one expired I called and they told me to come pick up my real one that day like it had been there all along. Why pay so much for all that when I had to keep driving back down there and calling to check in about it myself? Second, I set up a smart payment plan (those people there are amazing btw) where they pay my bill for me and take money out biweekly. I kept getting letters from my financing company telling me I'm being sent to collections for not paying though money keeps coming out of my account. I had To call the smart payment plan people and after an hour on the phone with them trying to figure this out it turns out Kia gave them the wrong monthly payment for my car! So they took care of my late fees and sent a letter trying to fix my credit but they said they can't guarantee anything. So because of kia's negligence I have a hurt credit score and a higher bill than I was quoted and I had to deal with these people for an hour not them...my car was $33,000 I shouldnt have to go through all this. read more

I even emailed the management, and received no response from them. I have a Kia Sedona van and I buy cars every few years. I'm a great target customer for Jake Sweeney Kia. I'm not sure why, but I continue to visit their lot thinking things might be different. Unfortunately, each time I leave, I feel the same way. The used car sales people remind me of just that..."stereotypical" used car salesman. They are rough, rude, a bit pushy, easily distracted, seem a little shifty and smell of smoke. I feel like I'm getting the run around when I'm that lot. I also noticed several of the salesmen in a little group, smoking in front of the store. That is a big turn off! Make them go to the back of the building or something. And the sales person that I took a test drive with smelled like a cigarette. I came to their customer appreciation event last month and definitely did not feel appreciated.I didn't feel like anyone that worked there knew about the event and were puzzled why I was even there. Not the best of experiences in used car shopping, unfortunately. We were approved for and ready to purchase a particular model of vehicle, but found that once the dealer discovered we had been approved for the sticker price, they were unwilling to do any price negotiation. Maybe the sales manager thought they had a sure thing? Two things stand out about this experience : first, the vehicle disappeared from the website as we were negotiating, making it impossible to agree to a start price (they were claiming it was listed online for a thousand more than we had seen, and they refuse to put prices on their vehicles); our calculations using straightforward and easily available payment calculators were consistently 40-50 dollars less per month than the monthly payment they repeatedly put in front of us, and despite along them multiple times for the calculations behind their numbers, they never allowed us to see how they were coming up with that number.
