I had an arm break in our chandellier, I sent JAJ the pictures and asked them if they would be able to repair it. Jason came out and stated he could. He took measurements and pictures and stated he could find a replacement part. He had me order and pay $150 for the replacement part. When he came it did NOT look at all like the broken piece. He stated he could move some of the arms around and fill in the broken arm with another shorter one but that your wouldn't be able to notice the difference. I had to leave my home for 5 minutes, my elderly mother was there, at which point he left. He stated the job was complete and I paid him via the cash app. I found out two other pieces had come loose when he was moving the arms. He his them in a box. I have been calling and texting him everyday so he can finish the work I paid for him to do. He tells me he'll call or come by and nothing! I have before and after pictures of my chandelier and text messages to confirm what I state. I have him all week to make things The co-owner Mr. Anwar came and fixed all the issues with the chandelier . Work has been completed. read more

We needed some commercial electrical services done so with a quick google search and decent reviews we gave JAJ a shot. The dispatcher was super nice and made an appointment next day. Next day arrives and the ETA they gave came and went I called she explained what the issue was and a tech came out within the hour. Long story short he did a great job and had no issues. Fast forward we had another request we needed done in our server room, called them since they did a great job the 1st time. The made an appt with an ETA of 9am-10am. I get a call around 9:45 saying tech will be late due to a previous call and if they want us to get another tech which would take an hour but the original tech shouldn't take long. I said if he's finishing up then we will stick with the original tech. 12-12:30pm rolls around and I call checking the status of the tech, dispatch tried to figure out and says he's coming. I said at this point it was faster getting a new tech. We Close around 5pm. Tech doesn't come until 2:30, 4-5hours past the original appt. We show him what needs to be done then says oh I need to get my tools we ask how long will that take since you were already 4hrs late he said he would need another 1-2hrs. We said forget it, let's reschedule to that following Monday. As soon as the tech (3-3:15) leaves I call to solidify the appt for Monday because we had a cable tech coming Tuesday. Conveniently no one from their dispatch office picks up. So I left a voicemail asking for someone to call back in regards to booking an appt. I had a feeling something funny was going to happen as I never got a call back, I called Saturday mid morning, Sunday mid morning sent an email and voicemail, still nothing at this point. Monday rolls around and I get a text message saying we are scheduled for Tuesday. How are we scheduled for Tuesday when I was trying to contact you since Friday afternoon? I called yet again and still nothing. So I sent a pretty stern text which I got a reply due to employee spouse tragic accident pretty much made everything chaotic. Which still doesn't explain why you cannot respond when your hours online list your open over the weekend as well. I had my colleague call and what do you know they picked up. He explains the frustration and she assures we can get a tech Tuesday between 6:30-7:30am. We asked to ensure they would be there. I didn't get a confirmation text until 11pm then Tuesday rolls around a I get an email from my colleague saying they never showed up. No call no nothing. We just went with another company who came out within the hour and finished as guess who was pulling up JAJ it was 8:30am. I told the tech you all were scheduled at set time and it's 8:30-8:45am. What was the issue? He was quiet, I asked again where was the miscommunication because regardless you still showed up 1-2hrs late. We said we didn't need their services. I will never use them again. read more

JAJ Lighting and Power did a great job installing my two ring camera at my home. They provided exactly customer service with reasonable prices! I will definitely refer them to my friends and family. read more

Jason came by yesterday to install an outdoor light and a recessed light in my bathroom. He did a great job on both, did exactly what I asked for, and even moved the light switch to a different area per my last minute request! He also threw in another LED fixture in my other recessed light in the same area, which was really nice. He was professional and courteous and cleanup up any mess he made really well. Thanks, Jason! I'll definitely be contacting you for my other electrical needs. :) read more

JAJ Lighting & Power - Electricians Near Me - Woodbridge, Virginia

Updated: I tried to use them again on 7/27/2019 to install 3 ceiling fans. They no call/no showed at 7 am. After calling multiple times and emailing, I was able to reach someone (they did not call or email me) and we rescheduled for between 12 - 1 pm that day, and was supposed to call to let me know an update. I was no call/no showed again. At 1:09 pm someone called me back (fourth person I talked to that day) and was finishing a job two hours from me and was not familiar with my work order. I canceled the job and asked for a refund for my $600 deposit and they did not reply or refund me. read more

This is an update from my previous 1-star review. After the company saw my previous review, they contacted me and offered me a very significant discount if I gave them a shot. So I did. No other company would have been able to compete with their offer. Turns out there were some unusual circumstances the day they were supposed to come by and never showed up. So I will give them the benefit of the doubt on this one. After that issue, they were easy to get in touch with and timely with their quote. They were very flexible with my schedule and I was able to set up a day/time for the sub panel installation that worked for me. They two gentlemen that did the installation were friendly and polite. Unprompted, they took their shoes off anytime they came in the house. They helped me decide where to install the sub panel and made sure it was installed up to code. They did the work and cleaned up any mess left. Assuming the sub panel works and was installed properly (we'll find out when the basement gets finished and inspected in a few weeks), they did a fantastic job and definitely made up for the bad first impression! I had written them off completely until they called, apologized, explained the situation, and made me an exceptional offer. EXCELLENT customer service! They truly care about their reputation. read more

I am beyond excited with the work Jason's team did in our rental. When we did a walk through a couple weeks ago we noticed how dark and cave like it was especially in the basement and knew we wanted to do something to brighten up our space. His guy Anwar came in and worked through the night and was able to install 24 LED fixtures throughout our home. There is such a drastic difference in there now and I know the new tenants are going to flip over how bright their new space is going to be now. Thank you Jason and Anwar! read more

I'm updating my previous review since Jason reached out to me later and came and installed the ceiling lights. I'm fine with Jason's skill and service. He knows what he's doing and he does a good job. The follow-up or customer service still leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to responding to calls or calling back so hopefully that's something they can improve upon for the future. read more

Had a bit of a mixed experience with Jason and JAJ, but I'm satisfied with the final result. I had several electrical contractors bid a small light fixture replacement job in the foyer my home. JAJ provided the best overall value from the quotations received. The first appointment was setup, but there appeared to have been a mix-up with the crew and ended up as a no-call/no-show by JAJ. I setup a second appointment a week out. On the day of install, it started out as another no-call/no-show. I contacted Jason about his companies performance, and he personally came out for the job. The installation was done professionally, and he followed up a couple of days later at the house to confirm we were satisfied with the work. Will certainly call Jason in the future if the need arises for any of JAJ's services. read more

JAJ Lighting & Power recently installed 5 ceiling fans in my house and did an awesome job. I have used them in the past to installed recessed lights in my kitchen and I will use the in the future for any of my electrical needs. The work is outstanding and Jason is a true professional. read more

If you want a company that says they will give you an estimate 2 weeks after they say they are going to give it to you and you have to call and ask where it is a week after they came out then this is the company for you. Not to mention they included $1000 to install smoke detectors which wasn't even discussed. I think you get my point on this... read more

Twice they have stood me up for an estimate and didn't have the decency to even call! Wasted my time!

We had a broken chandelier motor. JAJ (Jason) worked with the manufacturer of the motor to uncover the root cause, take out the old motor and replace the motor when the new one came in. Overall, a good experience. read more

I found this business thru yelp. Jason was the technician that assisted me to install 3 ceiling fans at once and at a later date 1 chandlier. Professional service, communicates well, fair pricing and efficient. Will definitely call this company in the future if in need of any of their services. read more

a bit of trouble with scheduling initially but once past that, they did an excellent and professional job. would 100% call them for future work. read more

DO NOT HIRE JAJ LIGHT AND POWER Jason and his company are frauds that will not adequately or legally complete any major projects. My wife and I hired Jason back in September of 2017 to upgrade our older 100 amp electrical panel to a new 200 amp panel due to its age and maxed out circuitry. Jason was very responsive to communications during this process, but could NEVER arrive on time. I'm not talking about 30 minutes late, he was always at least 4 hours late after the time range he gave me. The work he performed appears to be adequate, but I have no idea if its to code because he NEVER pulled any permits and despite being listed as a PWC business, the county has no records of the guy or his business. Due to his tardiness in schedule keeping, he only finished the electrical panel itself and never labeled it or reattached our whole home power surge protector; despite him claiming that its only a '20 minute job.' I've attempted to schedule him to retrieve permits and finish this '20 minutes' of work multiple times and he wither completely ignores my correspondence or no-shows me after scheduling an appointment; claiming that he booked the time slot for someone else because I never confirmed the appointment despite emailing him back within a couple hours. To summarize, I have no idea if his work is to code, because he doesn't pull permits, he only speaks to you when you owe him money or a new job is on the table, he doesn't legally exist in the County, and he won't finish the job and they will prioritize new work over previous commitments if you've already paid them. I will be reporting this 'business' to the county, the state, and the IRS. read more

Excellent electricians - the work is very professional and they did a great job. Installed recessed lighting in my home and ceiling fans. Would recommend them for their work, but they run late sometimes. Their work is five stars, however. Time management could be improved a little. read more

Lost power on the 3rd floor of my home on a Sunday. Contacted JAJ and spoke with Jason. Since it was Sunday, I knew it would be somewhat of a challenge or expensive to get someone out that day. Jason said he would call me back in 15-20 mins to see if someone could come. Exactly 20 mins later, he called back asking for my address and telling me the electrician's name who would arrive soon. VERY RESPONSIVE!!! The electrician showed up and found the issue, which turned out to be a dangerous situation. Jason contacted me immediately after speaking to the electrician to get the ball rolling on the issue. In a matter of days, JAJ lighting completely changed all my outlets in my entire home & the price was VERY REASONABLE! They even assembled a light fixture I had just purchased and the price was not added to!!!! Definitely using this company in the future!!! Already spoke with Jason about mounting TVs and recessed lighting. Jason and his electricians are now my go to guys for all my electrical needs... thank you soooo much guys. I appreciate you all. read more

My husband set up an appointment and paid a deposit for Jason to come this morning to do some electrical work. We tried calling, texting and emailing all afternoon and he did not get back to us. It seems like this is somewhat of a common theme for Jason and this company as a whole and it is severely disappointing that we aren't one of the 5-star ratings. This is unacceptable for a business to operate this way. read more

I had JAJ Lighting and Power put up two light fixture in my bathroom with dimmers. it went really well! The electrician arrived on time and did the job in record speed. Overall, I was happy with the end result. People love my bathroom lights! Thanks to JAJ. read more

If I could rate this company a negative 5 I would. I had the worst experience this past week with JAJ Lighting and Electric. JAJ was scheduled to perform work that was supposed to take approximately 5 hours. The owner arrived 2.5 hours late. He was supposed to have a 3man crew and only had a 2man crew. He informed me he was having several different issues and his family had to drop him off to the work site. He didn't come prepared even after arriving 2.5 hours late and left 2x for long periods of time. It took JAJ over 14 hours to "complete" the job leaving my home at 2am in the morning. Even after spending 14 hours the job was left unfinished. I informed JAJ I was dissatisfied with the work and he agreed to come back and finish, even went as far as scheduling a revisit date. He was a no show for the revisit, he never called/texted and wouldn't answer or return any of my calls. I still have not heard from him. I found out 3 days later when the cable tech informed me the 2 CAT 5 lines that JAJ installed weren't even wired, JAJ put the wall jacks on and pretended to wire the CAT 5 lines. I had to have someone else come out (yes, they were paid also) to fix what I paid JAJ to perform. So if you want a company that lacks integrity, has no time management skills, doesn't come prepared, has no respect for others time, has unethical business practices, and is completely incompetent then this is the company for you. If you want to save your time, money, and have peace of mind in knowing the work is done right then definitely don't hire this company. You will be sorry if you do. Buyer Beware! read more

Had a mixed experience with Jason and JAJ but was satisfied overall. Jason came out quickly and responsively for an emergency call, followed up by an appointment to repair or improve several things in my house. Jason is highly qualified and I was trust his skill and will, but he seems like he tries to take on too much work and wasn't as careful in selecting his team. When they came back for the repairs and improvements, they created significant damage to my ceiling and wall drywall, and left nearly every location they touched requiring cleanup or additional repair. To his credit - even though they have a disclaimer about no responsibility for paint or drywall damage - Jason offered to pay for drywall and paint repair for the worst damage. Unfortunately, they sent one contractor who did a terrible job with that repair, necessitating them to send yet another contractor to repair that work, finally resulting in about 80% of the damage repaired (not yet like it was). Shawnta was also very friendly and helpful in our communications. In sum, my experience was a rough ride but I know JAJ had the best intentions and I'm fairly happy in the end. I just think they need to slow down and focus on the quality, demonstrating care for their customers' homes, which builds repeat business. read more

All I can say is clutch in a time of need. Professional, courteous, timely, and sincere. My HOA contacted me about my outdoor light. They got back to me right away and we were able to get started the next day. They also provided very valuable guidance for more cost-effective products and that's what honestly sold me. Prices were reasonable and would like to work with them on some other projects. JAJ will be getting another call from me again. read more

I recommend this company to anyone needing electrical assistance. We used them to trouble shoot and fix an issue with our out door lamp post. The technician quickly identified and fixed the problem. He was also extremely courteous and professional. We also had them install GFI outlets outside and in our garage for us, making sure our home was up to code. As the technicians were installing them, they explained everything in detail for me. read more

Had JAJ Lighting and Power replace my power panel which included the permit and inspection. It was scheduled between 9-10 am, Jason did not show up until 3pm, he left at 11pm and said he needed to replace some of the "new"breakers and he would be back before the inspection to replace them and would also be present for the inspection with the county. The date he told me the inspection was on a Friday. I took off of work and waited. At 3pm after not hearing from him i called his office, there was no answer, called his cell phone, again no answer. That night I recieved a call stating that Jason is tied up with another job however will be able to complete the Job Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. I agreed with Tuesday and took another day off of work and waited. On Tuesday at noon after not hearing anything from the company, I again called his office and left a voice mail, called his cell and emailed the company. I did not hear anything until the next day which was an email stating rest assured Jason will contact you tomorrow and the inspection will be Friday. It is 4 pm on Thursday and you guessed it still havent heard from the company. Oh and did i mention i checked with the county and the never pulled the electrical permits... DO NOT USE JAJ LIGHTING AND POWER. After owning a house for 10 years and hiring 20 PLUS companys to various jobs around my house, JAJ Lighting is ABSOLUTELY THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. DO NOT USE JAJ LIGHTING AND POWER!!!! read more
