We loved everything at Jaipur! The food and service were next level. We had multiple people stopping in to check in our table and refill drinks. The staff was all really kind and asked if we had any questions or needed help ordering. The food was so flavorful and plated beautifully. We tried a fusion appetizer, a chicken tikka eggroll, and it was innovative and fun! We also enjoyed more traditional dishes that were special with their attention to detail and layer of flavor. We ordered chicken tikka madras and lamb madras. Spice level was listed as 8/10 but was more like 4/10 in my opinion. Still delicious, just craved a little more spice. I really wanted to like this place. Order lunch portions to go. The restaurant looked very up scale and nice. The decor was stunning and really elevates the atmosphere. The service was quick and they made sure you were taken care of. The food however did not match the price tag and restaurant itself. The Lamb Korma and Butter Chicken (lunch portions) ~$15 had a very heave yogurt flavor. The lamb pieces were really good, but the chicken was dry and lacking. The butter chicken sauce was very red and not what I was traditionally use to. It came with a salad and soup that I tried and tossed. The veg Pakoras were pretty bland as well, but saved by the mint chutney. The naan was just ok. Overall, maybe it would have been a different experience it eaten there, but it is a "no" for me. read more

The space is beautiful, but noisy when the house is totally booked as it was on Friday night before Valentine's Day. We could still have a conversation, but hearing the server was a bit difficult. She was great, friendly and energetic. She checked back with us just the right amount and kept our water glasses full. There was a Valentine special which we decided wasn't our thing. Bookguy ordered Jaipur Pad which was chicken, cashews, and noodles in a lightly spiced coconut sauce. We both loved it, so creamy and flavorful. I ordered the maah dal--kidney and garbanzo beans in creamy curry sauce. I put it over rice and it was delicious. Both meals had a choice of salad or soup. Bookguy liked his salad, but didn't think much of the lentil soup I had. I'm fond of lentil soup and liked this version. I had a glass of raspberry wheat beer, a house made brew. I wasn't sure if it was the best choice with my food, but wanted to try it and it was really good. The dessert menu pictures tempted us so we shared a piece of carrot cake. Umm... moist cake with a delightful creamy frosting. It was perfect. We enjoyed our food and the service was surprisingly quick, being such a crowded night. Try it for date night. read more

All of the food was amazing. Started with chicken spring rolls and meal came with soup. We chose to share curries, I ordered the Lamb Madras and my Fiance chose Chicken Tikka Madras. Both curries were very flavorful with tender meat but I would've liked them a little spicier. Service was amazing, having staff checking on us, topping off the waters, talking with us about the food to help us order and enjoy the night. It wasn't crowded and the food came out quick. Every time we dine at Jaipur, which is not very often, we ask ourselves, "Why don't we come here more often?" On this night, it was hot and we were tired after a long work week so we wanted to eat light. We shared everything and it took discipline not to eat it all. First up, the jalapeño ale, which has been brewed in-house for several decades. It always pairs well with what we order here. Not too spicy, just the right amount of heat. For an appetizer, we went with the Momo. Steamed dumpling with tomato sesame seed chutney. The Momo was good, not the best. The chutney tasted quite garlicky on its own, so I was a little skeptical. It paired deliciously with the Momo! We ordered naan which comes with one big, hot, and fresh flat bread. For the main dish, we ordered Chicken Tikka Madras, which is boneless chicken in spicy coconut milk sauce. To clarify, I asked if "spicy" meant spicy hot or it has lots of spices. It's the heat. Our waitress advised us to go low on the 0-10 scale and we went with 5 which was a bit spicy. I can tolerate spicy heat, but the next time I will go with 4. It was absolutely delicious. With the heavy tomato sauce, it LOOKED like meatballs in marinara sauce. You dish it over rice, and it was a hit. Loved the tomato flavor. A salad or soup comes with the entree. Even on a hot day, we had to have the mulligatawny soup and we are so glad we did. It is so flavorful and thick. We wanted a spatula to get every drop. The atmosphere is very comfortable. I've always heard about this place but try others or go to old faves; finally made it. Beer is on point--the Raspberry ale had a good fruit presence that wasn't sweet. The chicken Tikki Masala was more tomato based than I'd had with random bites of spicy ginger but it all worked well. The salad was traditional iceberg with tomato; however, it was the smallest known salad in creation...think three bites--I found it funny. The garlic naan was super disappointing though. Usually a fave when I eat masala but it was dryer without any taste; we thought it was a mistake with the regular. Pricing was also off. Expensive at $4.75 for a pop/soda and $5.95 for baby salad BUT on trend for $19 Masala, $4ish naan, and $6.95 restaurant brew. Valentine's Day Dinner with My Bride Normally, I don't get caught up in the Hallmark holiday hype, but this year, we decided to enjoy a special meal--just a day early. We had some incredible Indian food, and the experience reminded me of what dining out used to be. The service was outstanding--so polite, so thankful. Great and strange older restaurant inside. Like going back to the early 90's. That part is comfortably wonderful. Very sweet server. 3.5 on both of those. 4 star mulligatawny. 1 star on the rest of the food. Weird shredded meat, small portions and bland flavors. Absolutely gobsmacked by the prices. We can't justify coming back for the prices alone. I wish that would change, I think they would be way more busy with a 30% reduction in prices. We were one of two tables for an hour and a half. I don't know how they are making it. We eat out a lot at all price points, there is no justification in the prices here. Maybe their landlord is an overcharging Scrooge? Quick summary of my official Grow Omaha Eats review: The food is incredible, top notch all the way. An old fashioned isn't on the cocktail menu, but rest assured, they make a good one. Went back to Jaipur after many years' hiatus and I did have a better experience than what I remember from last time. Their decor and interior is in desperate need of a spruce (bright green tables) but the service was pretty good. I ordered the lamb korma and I have to say I was pleased by the quality of the lamb. The sauce was on the bland side, the rice was fine. The garlic naan has an overwhelming amount of garlic in it. I like garlic as much as the next person but this naan was absolutely caked with garlic inside. Just not pleasant to eat. read more

Now we are new adventurous eaters that wanted to find a good Indian spot and chose this place without much looking into on a whim. The menu offers a lot as we glanced thru then BAM we looked to the price column and it was much higher than expected, with high up charges too. I've been to this Jaipur location a handful of times, and have always enjoyed it, but after this recent visit I think the quality went down a bit. Service was fine and they still have the really good jalapeño ale, which has always been my favorite. Our group ordered chicken Bhuna, lamb korma, lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka madras. Of all I think madras was most unique and flavorful, I enjoyed the sautéed onion and bell peppers in it and how the peppers are dispersed throughout. Lamb vindaloo was pretty bland and could have used some more heat (unsure if we needed to ask for this). I was impressed with the mulligatawny flavor, but the garlic naan was pretty dry and did not seem fresh or was a frozen variation. Rice quality was okay, but did now wow me. This is a delicious, authentic Indian spot. You're greeted with intricate murals on the walls and the staff is inviting. The wait staff is friendly and excellent quality. Jaipur's unique restaurant/microbrewery allows customers to purchase their beer in the restaurant. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio, which paired well with the food. We ordered the sample appetizer platter and received a mix of potatoes, samosas, and other fried goodies. For my main dish, I got the shrimp bhuna, which is different from the typical tikka masala or korma I usually order. The dish was fantastic. As expected, it was flavorful, not too spicy, and great tasting shrimp. Good for dates or small groups. We will be returning to try more. read more

Service was so great, everyone was very friendly and quick to get us everything we needed. The chicken tikka spinach naan was one of the best dishes I've ever had! It was phenomenal. The sampler platter let us try all of the appetizers which was great, our favorites being the meat samosas and the chicken bites. We tried the jalapeño beer and the raspberry. Raspberry beer was my favorite, while my husband loved the jalapeño - it had all of the jalapeño flavor but very little spice. A really great spot for indian cuisine. I love authentic indian food and this is it! The bold vibrant colors remind me of dishes I've tried in bigger cities. They nail the spices and flavors you need to make a dish excellent. The Naan is amazingly soft and fresh tasting. With the chicken and rice, it was such an incredible complement. I don't think it's an unknown fact they also have a great beer selection. It is a little on the dark side in the interior but I love their patio in the Spring-Fall. I've recently been venturing out more trying different spots for Indian cuisine, but I keep coming back to Jaipur as my all time fave! The mulligatawny soup is like velvet. The mint chutney is perfectly smooth and flavorful. My favorite dish is the Thimpu Chicken which has a bright yellow color and tender chunks of chicken and cauliflower. I also recently tried a new appetizer, the fried momo, which were little fried dumplings filled with chickpea, shredded chicken, and spices, with a tomato chutney dipping sauce. So yummy!! They do brew their own beers, and the raspberry wheat has always been a favorite of mine. Also, their to-go packaging is on point, everything is in nice plastic containers. I've been to Jaipur several times over the last few years and I've never been disappointed in the food. I like the Tandoori chicken and shrimp. The grilled shrimp biryani is on the menu now and it's excellent. This last time I had the chicken tikka biryani and it was good, but not as good as the grilled chicken or shimp. I also recommend the mulligatawny soup. It has a nice light curry flavor. I could eat it every day. The service here is always friendly and polite. The manager (maybe owner) usually comes by to check on how the meal is going. It's clear that everyone cares about the customer experience. Jaipur will continue to be our go to Indian spot for years to come. read more

It's been 5 years or so since I last rated Jaipur. We've been enjoying the world-beater dining experience of Jaipur since it opened under Steve Gordon and his partners. Since Gyanendra took over the reins, quality and taste has not diminished. Consistency is back. For our family, Jaipur remains among the top of our list for just about any occasion - especially when we need our Indian food fix. The food and atmosphere at Jaipur were right-on just this Thursday night. We brought an out-state family member who dropped into Omaha unexpected. She was impressed with the beer and always excellent wine, all four dishes ordered (we always split them up), service and atmosphere. This time tested establishment continues to be a first rate Omaha dining gem. Did I mention the peerless hand painted mural all along the east wall of the main dining room? We started with Paratha which is a whole wheat pita $3.94 with a butter sauce. Pretty plain. I could eat 3 of these but one is enough for 4 people. Dinner was 1/2 order of tandoori chicken, perfectly spiced and juicy and flavorful $22, served with rice. Salmon Madras, a great dish (an option from lamb Madras) big chunks of salmon swimming in a coconut milk sauce, perfectly cooked salmon. heavy and fantastic, no dairy, served with rice. I'm coconuts for this dish. One doesn't know it's coconut. We also had Mixed Grill, tandoori chicken, shrimp and lamb sausage. It looked great too, with rice & veggies, $22. We also one Grilled shrimp dinner with rice & veggies, very nice presentation like the others, but the shrimp looked smaller on this dish. Service is great here, makes me not want to order to go. We need to come to Rockbrook more often! From 2 years ago. Surprisingly great quarantine food source. Employees are friendly, safe pickup zone and food is hot and ready to go on time. Same food as inside the restaurant without the wait. Plus they have 1/2 price wines to go, too. We got a lot of food. We want this place to stay in business! And we left a very good tip. We tried some new things too. Steamed Mom0s, excellent. 2 for $8.95. We got 2 orders. Garlic naan. $3.25, we got 2 orders. Spinach naan, one order $ 5.25. Their mulligatawny soup rocks, it's the best anywhere. $3.50 for a lot more than a bowl. Salmon Buryani was very good but spicy, tomato and egg plant and peppers sauce. I am honestly baffled. How is it that this gem of a restaurant doesn't have a 5 star rating? I'm just going to throw it out there: Jaipur served me the best Indian food I have ever had...and I live in an Indian neighborhood in St. Louis. Our meal there is also up there with my top three meals...ever. I don't know how I missed this place when I lived in Omaha. I thought maybe that it was opened up since I moved away 10 years ago, but apparently they have been there for much longer. Very cool. All right, let's get to it. I was surprised that Jaipur is also a brewery. For me, it's rare to see a brewery in an Indian restaurant, and they knocked my socks off with their Jalapeno Ale. I know, sounds weird, right? That's what I thought, but it went extremely well with the food that our table ordered. As far as the food, the Naan was great, and the entrees were outstanding. Our table ordered the Chicken Tikka Madras, the Tandoori Chicken, and a pork daily special (I can't remember the name). ALL three of these dishes were awesome! I also appreciated the fact that the kitchen was flexible with the spice level, and they were spot on with our requests. For dessert, we got a slice of Mango Cheesecake and Kheer (rice pudding). Now I'm not a rice pudding fan, but I couldn't stop stealing bites! The cheesecake was outstanding as well! Yes, it was pricey, but it was well worth the cost. If I were to sum up my visit, I would say that the food was so good that our table couldn't stop giggling after each bite of something. It was food that made the day better. Jaipur (aka Jaipur Brewing Company) has it all. An extensive menu, with fusion items and traditional Indian fare, somewhat upscale atmosphere, patio (even if it does open out to a parking lot), and the best tiger battle mural I've ever seen. Plus, it's a brew pub. If you'd adventurous, definitely try the jalapeño beer. If not, they have others... wheat, IPA, raspberry wheat and some special occasion styles (pale ale, nut brown, porter and stout). Sharing is encouraged, if you're not feeling too hungry and want to maximize your dollar-to-taste ratio. The menu offers a selection of 'Chef's Special' items, such as Papadum Shrimp, Indian Crab Cakes, Spinach Dip, Tandoori seared top sirloin, Grilled Ribeye (obviously with the alcohol and beef options Jaipur is in a bit of a unique position compared to other Indian restaurants in town) and Pad Jaipur. I've never sampled any of these items so can't comment on them, but they've always drawn my eye. The things I seek out are generally the same... my favorite Naan in town, Mulligatawny Soup, Samosas, Mango Laasi, Chicken Tikka Korma, Saag Chicken, Lamb Vindaloo, Mixed Vegetable Curry. (While we're on the topic of vegetables, it's worth mentioning that the Vegetarian Menu isn't as extensive as I'd expect coming from an Indian Restaurant). Another item worth mentioning is that Jaipur is on the higher end of cost for Indian restaurants, but not by a huge margin. And another favorite, Thimpu Chicken... "A great specialty from the royal kingdom of Bhutan. Boneless chicken cooked with cauliflower in a light creamy sauce". I don't know what it is about this dish, but it's not served everywhere, so if you acquire a taste for it be ready to accurately describe it to other restaurants (who can reproduce it) in a pinch. All of that should be enough to stuff you with some leftovers to spare. Then, also don't be afraid to grab a small spoon of Mukhwas on your way out the door (the stuff in the small bowl that looks like a spice blend). read more
