Honestly, moi, je n'aime pas THESE crêpes, but many I know seem to like them, so maybe I am a snob. I lived in France way back when and enjoyed many a crêpe there. ACTUALLY, here at J'aime Les Crêpes, the crêpes themselves seem fine. It's that they load them with WAY too much goo. Gooey goo goo. Mountains of gooey sweetness. They have a captive audience of hungry, bored ferry passengers just awaiting transport, and perhaps these people are goo lovers one and all, besides me. I mean my worst, number one hated food is fudge, so if you love fudge then perhaps do not heed my opinion and get a sweet, sloppy, goolicious crêpe. Like I said, I have friends who will, in passing by, eat these crêpes and enjoy the experience. The shop IS cute, and the service seems fine. The walk-up window is fun and convenient. The price is typical for eating out, which is to say, pretty damned expensive, but that is not J'aime Les Crêpes fault in the slightest. This is the famous crepe place that a lot of people recommend when you visit Kingston. Kingston doesn't have a whole lot to do, but stopping by the crepe place is essential. We got the smoked salmon and the fresh strawberries with chocolate crepe, both of which are prepared right in front of you. The price is a little high but the crepes are fairly solid with a good amount of filling. 2 crepes was enough for a lighter satisfying meal for 2 people. The storefront is tiny with no seating inside but there's plenty of outdoor seating. However, it was a rainy winter day so there's no line to order and food came out fast, but you'll not have as good of a time enjoying the food outside. read more

Went for a backpacking trip and stopped here while returning from the Olympic national park. A very cute little place with some outdoor seating. We ordered variety of crepes and among all of them the veggie crepe was the best one. I know the sweet crepes are supposed to be sweet, but these were a little extra sweet Service was good too. I will actually make a point of detouring to Kingston and paying an extra $20 bucks to take the ferry back over to Edmonds pretty much anytime I'm in the area, *just* to stop in here and grab a crepe while waiting to board. This place is THAT amazing! There are so many varieties of crepes to choose from, savory or sweet, but I usually go with the Magnifique (provolone, artichoke, sundried tomatoes, artichoke pesto), or the grilled chicken, provolone, spinach and lemon herb vinagrette), both of which are monstrous, and delicious. And if crepes are not your thing for some reason (which would be weird), you can also grab a coffee from the espresso bar, or a massive scoop of one of their eight flavors of ice cream. Sit idle at the ferry port long enough and you will see dozens of people walking around with a crepe, a coffee, or a cone, and you will quickly find yourself overcome with envy, wondering where they got them. Better hope you have enough time to grab something before the ship begins loading! There isn't much in the way of seating, inside or out, so the grab-and-go business model is pretty much their whole operation. But what an operation it is! The crepes are fine. They're the paper-thin ones like in Bretagne. You can ask to customize the filling if you'd like As is tradition, though, they are made with dairy. It's impossible to get them dairy-free. So you know. The place is tiny and cramped and there is no inside seating. You order and then take your crepe outside and eat either at the few tables on the sidewalk, or at the park by the water and the ferry parking lot. Of course, if it's raining or cold, this won't do. We came here on a weekend morning. We were able to order right away and they made the crepes on the spot where we could watch. They used packaged smoked Salmon in the Smoked Salmon crepe. The salmon paired well with our cream and green onions (I believe it was). The crepe was slightly salty but I still liked this one a bit more out of the two crepes. The strawberry crepe had fresh strawberries and a lot of dark chocolate inside, which was yummy too. There was only outdoor seating available. This place is a little store on the corner with barely enough room to stand more than 4 people at a time but they have outdoor seating. It's a super cute little spot and the food is great. I was recommended here by a local and they did not disappoint. We ordered the smoked salmon & fresh strawberries with dark chocolate & toasted almonds. Smoked salmon- delicious. Tbh I expected the salmon to be more like lox, but it was more dry than lox is. I wish there was more filling inside (more salmon & cream cheese). But overall taste was good. Fresh strawberries & dark chocolate - on my side, I added lavendar sugar. It was nice on its own, but the lavendar sugar really steps up the combination. The lavendar sugar is sweet enough to be a crepe on its own. You can feel the grittiness of the sugar, and you can taste the lavendar, but it's not overwhelming. It nicely balances the strawberries, which can be a little bit tart. The dark chocolate is a good additional dimension to the sweet crepe. Staff were really nice and accommodated the add on. Service was quick. Would eat again if I'm back in this area. :) read more

We have a wine shop directly across the street from the spectacular crêperie. One of us is addicted to the crêpe called. le magnifique, I am hooked on the garden delight. The people behind the counter are very hard-working and very patient, and in a very tight spot in their whipping out espresso drinks, scooping ice cream, and making crêpes. If you are visiting Kingston, check out this crêpe shop, if it's drizzling go across the street to the gazebo and sit inside there and eat it or enjoy it in your car while waiting for the ferry. Many people will time it so they can take their crêpes onto the ferry, and eat while cruising across the water . Delicious, fresh food, lots of beautiful veggies, and whatever they are drizzling on that garden delight is to die for! We love this take out restaurant! It's interesting how much they love crepes in the Seattle area. My 2nd visit to the area and my 2nd visit to a crepes restaurant. This place wasn't what I was looking for-AT FIRST. The hot dog lady that I was sent to find is no longer there and the workers here were friendly enough to let me know. Once inside, I couldn't help but be intrigued by the incredible smells coming from the griddle. You can watch them make your "sandwich". I ordered a meatball marinara crepe and a chocolate caramel pecan crepe. Both were delicious. Seating was an issue for me. There were seats outside (no seating inside) and while the seats are picturesque, there were bees. (I am allergic) so I had to eat in my car. I would definitely go back. read more

I got stuck waiting for a ferry on a weekend and decided to try the various food vendors in the walking radius of the car. I had wanted to try this crepe place for literal years and just didn't get around to it until recently. Unfortunately the customer service left me disappointed and the crepe got burned on one side, making it very mediocre. When I went to order there were three girls working behind the counter. They were all having a casual conversation about other local teens and didn't stop their conversation on account of me being present. The girl making my crepe was doing a decent job multi-tasking until she burned one side of the crepe. She saw me looking at the crepe as she flipped it and saw it had gotten burned, but proceeded to put the crepe together as if nothing had gone awry. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and hoped it only looked burnt but would taste fine. Sadly, when I got back to my car to eat my savory crepe it was good until I got to the large burned area. The burned part of the crepe completely detracted from what may have otherwise been a very decent crepe. The icing on the "bad service" cake I was served here was when I asked if there was a box for my crepe (so I could eat it later in my car and it could be protected until then). The first time I asked, the girl making the crepe ignored me. The second time I asked, she slammed a thin paper plate atop the crepe order and said nothing in response to me. Had there been a line of people waiting, or a valid reason why the girl working here was so rude to me I would have just let it go, but this was so off-putting to me I just couldn't shake the feeling. There are other menu items I'd like to try in the future but I'll think twice before I try them again. read more

I'd give it five stars for the food, it's amazing! However, closing so early on one of the busiest holiday weekends, not so great. We got there right before they shut the doors, the lady told us to come in that we'd be the last, then we went to order our crepes only for the young gal at the counter asking said boss lady if they're still making crepes. The answer was flat out no but we could get ice cream. We didn't come over on the ferry from Edmonds just to get ice cream. We specifically came to get crepes. Wasted money for ferry and time to come over for nothing, zip, zero and nothing. If we wanted just ice cream we would have went to something local. Chanced upon this darling little corner shop while waiting for our friends to arrive on the next ferry and were certainly not disappointed! We tried the chicken supreme with artichoke pesto and lemon vinaigrette which was just delightful! It's alright but the crepes definitely aren't French. I have a borderline addiction to a good strawberry/strawberry/nutella crepe, so anywhere I can snag one is a must. The wait was around 20 minutes for a fruit crepe, but they were bespoke, so it makes sense. TLDR - J'aime Les Crepes will leave you with a strong memory of an infrequent delicacy (crepes) that will have you looking forward to your next trip to the Peninsula (e.g. Sequim). So you spend a fantastic weekend in Sequim but time to get back to the real world which requires a ferry trip from Kingston to Edmonds (to get back to the Eastside). You will likely wait on average about 30 minutes before onboarding the ferry with your auto or your bike etc - point is you'll be waiting and you'll be hungry. A Yelp search had me looking for a quick lunch. Within walking distance is about 3-4 places and the closest corner was a home to this little crepe place so why not? This place could not have exceeded my expectations any more than if I were some world renowned food critic that gave two weeks notice of my arrival. On first blush you can tell this is a one of a kind spot not a chain - most of the menu was on white boards or chalk boards and I am always a sucker when I get a chance to watch the cooking in action. I only intended to order a savory item for lunch but the inner rebel in me said - go on, have a sweet crepe as well. Yes it will require another five mile run to burn off the extra calories but I'd run an extra 10k each week for one of these bad boys. For savory I settled on the Moveable Feast - not sure the derivation of the name but I was moved to order it - it was made before my eyes and you trick yourself to thinking it is super healthy for you since the vessel is so thin (compared to a pita bread, bagel or a bun) but the portion size was so generous that I gave up quickly on the idea that this was a low calorie dish - although still less than a drive thru combo. You could taste every ingredient and the ratios were on point - the bacon crumble was legit, the eggs fluffy and the seasoned potatoes were packed with flavor enhanced by the green onions and black pepper. Wife and I split that but continuing the rebel theme we actually ate that second because...... We are the sweet crepe first - yes you heard me right dessert before the meal - take that mom! The first offering on the sweet menu jumped off the blackboard and called my name like sirens calling drunken sailors. However I knew wife wasn't a dark chocolate fan and so the expert crepist (not a word sue me) suggested Nutella. Never one to reject an expert opinion I approved and she went to work and was so quick - the finished product can't be properly described and even the picture here doesn't do it justice - the ample whip cream and plump pecans nestled in the Nutella with caramel that was like lava coming down a volcano - let's just say that I needed a napkin for the drool before I even took a bite. I ran back with these to the auto as we had about 15 minutes before boarding the ferry and it took oh about 4 seconds to justify eating the sweet crepe so the "whip cream wouldn't melt". One bite that was it - best bite I've had in recent memory - won't go full blown hyperbole and say "best bite ever" but dare I say this crepe finds its way onto the menu for my last meal on earth (which has about 39 items and counting). Each bite was an out of body experience and my eyes got gigantic (like Phil from Netflix's "Somebody feed Phil") knowing that I've discovered a true culinary diamond in the rough. On my next trip to the Peninsula I will make it a point to hit this place coming and going - so twice each trip - the FOMO is real - you must try this place if you are getting off or on the ferry in Kingston. The beauty is that it is a great spot since you have limited options and want something you can take back to your car and munch - the fact that you don't have to settle for a vending machine meal or something rivaling a hot dog at a little league game makes it an even "sweeter escrepe (see what i did there - end with a dad joke - leave my audience dying for more). Two tips 1 - huge portions equal huge mess so load up on napkins 2 - if you are going to use utensils and you kind of have to (despite the Neanderthal urge to grab with both hands and eat it burger style a la Guy Fieri) use a spoon and NOT a fork - trust me on this - it is ergonomics my culinary compadre. Taste - 50 stars Service - no real opportunity to stand out but did offer the Nutella options and was fast in her craft giving more minutes to enjoy so 5 stars Value - 12 stars - not cheap but not touristy overpriced either and the taste makes this an amazing bang for the buck. This is one very popular place. It's a very small restaurant and basically only good for take out. However, the locals and the individuals coming across the ferry seem to really love the way these crepes are prepared. The line can get a bit long and sometimes you see folks who are rushing off to the ferry without being able to get through the line for their food. I'm pretty much a fan of this place but not a fan of crepes in general. So there is something special about the way they make their savory crepes. I do find myself eating a crepe from them probably twice a month.. I can't tell you about their sweet crepes, because I'm not too much into sweets, but I'm sure they're good too. I am a savory crepe lover all the way. They have some excellent choices on their menu board, but the fact that you can make your own is a plus in my mind. read more
