There are a lot of places around the ferry to go while you wait. And a few that serve coffee. This is far and away the best of the choices for coffee. We go here everytime we have 10 minutes or more before the next boat. This time I got a lavendar latte with oat milk. This can be a risky drink to get because often the syrup is too bitter. But yet again Aviator piloted this drink perfectly. Get a crepe across the street but leave room in your budget for this local roaster. read more

A very convenient and beautiful little coffee bar right off of the ferry and just above the town green as well. I would especially note the tiny donuts. When those are fresh and hot, you shouldn't miss them. The staff are always very friendly even though it can be very busy. read more

We were waiting for the ferry from Kingston to Edmonds and wanted to grab a quick coffee for the ride back. Aviator Coffee is in the perfect location because it is so close to where all the cars line up! I was hesitant to go to Aviator because they only had 3.5 stars on Yelp compared to 2 other coffee shops just up the street that both had close to 5 stars. We walked up to the other coffee shops first and realized they were both closed. We eventually made our way back to Aviator and had lower expectations for the coffee we would get based on prior reviews. Aviator has very few recent reviews, so I'm happy to be a new review that explains why they've earned 5 stars! The shop itself is cute, open with lots of fresh air coming inside, and has a view of the water and docked boats. They have burlap sacks lining the ceiling and some of the walls. There is standing room inside with no seating, but there are plenty of places to sit outside nearby. They have a decent sized menu of drink options plus tons of flavors to choose from! The ones with an asterisk by them are sugar free. They also have several alternative milks to use including coconut, almond, oat, and soy. There are even a few pastry options in their display case. I went with a 16oz hot latte with lavender flavor and oat milk! The size was generous for still being less than $5. My husband got a 20oz hot tea which was also less than $5! The drinks were ready quickly. This was probably one of the best lavender lattes I've ever had! The flavor balance was perfect, you could definitely taste the lavender but were not overpowered by it. We took our drinks and went for a stroll by the marina before heading back to the car to load up for the ferry. I was happy to have a warm drink in hand as we road the ferry on a cloudy day. This was such a great spot to grab a quick coffee and is in the most convenient location in this area. I'm hoping that this review brings more attention to it for future ferry riders so that it can be seen as a contender with the other solid coffee shops on this street! read more

Hours are a bit confusing. Maps says they open at 5, Yelp says 6, and their website says 7. No idea what time they actually open, but I guess it's not an option if you're in line for an "early" ferry like the 6:25 am. My sister raved about the donuts here so we decided to give it a try. The side windows were open which gave us a nice view of the donuts on the wheel. The employee who helped us was less than welcoming and not engaging at all. We asked her about the sign that mentioned 6 free donuts if you liked them on FB. We did that and she just nodded without expression and made the adjustment on the register. We ordered 2 dozen of the cinnamon sugar donuts which she warned up in the convection oven. They came out perfectly warm. The donut themselves are very tasty. They tasted just like a churro from Disneyland in form of a ring... and less toasted. Very good. Come for the donut. read more

The service can be a little rude and pushy, and always asking for tips when I complained the drink was wrong and they would sigh or make some type of rude remark. Again, not good service. read more

There is a bonus if you miss the next ferry from Kingston to Edmonds....it's a quick visit to Aviator Coffee. They're located parallel to the ferry ticket booths. Super nice baristas, tasty coffee, decent selection of sammies, pastries, even noticed there's Farm Kitchen cookies. If you're lucky they might have the mini doughnut machine going....those are heavenly freshly prepared! As I just get served my coffee, I asked the gentleman if I can also purchase a croissant. To which they replied, "Sure, after you wait in the line." ...By this time the line had grown. While visiting from out of state recently, I popped into this fun little shop. It has a great location, friendly and quick service, and my iced coffee was great and exactly what I was expecting. I've tried to go here 3 times during the week now while waiting for various ferries between 6:00 and 8:00 AM and never once seen them open, despite multiple places listing that they open at 5:00 AM. It's close, and quick with yummy mochas and mini doughnuts made fresh as well as other light breakfast and lunch items. Drink: served hot and in under a minute from ordering the mocha was rich chocolate with the right balance of sweetness against the espresso shots. Service: Greeted with a smile and hello the barista was knowledgeable and quick. After answering a few questions I gave my order and she went to work. In less than three minutes I had my drink, mini doughnuts, paid and was out the door without even feeling rushed. Food: mini doughnuts. Need I say more? OK...plain, cinnamon sugar and powdered sugar I think where the flavors. Delicious and served hot in the bag. They also have many bagel, cookie, sandwich hotdog wrap etc. Items that I have not tried yet. They look good though. Amenities: the location is great for a quick drink close to the ferry. The building is well appointed with exposed wood and metal espresso signs as well as a neat and clean interior. Went to get a coffee before I caught an early ferry, the barista was training a new employee, and only two customers waiting in the booth plus me. Waited for a bit, and then I was told "I gotta go I have a catering to do, I'll have to come back." The owners or management need to look at how they handle covering their store while also taking catering orders, and how their employees interact with customers during that time. Not fair to the employee who is stressed about covering everything, or the customers wishing to patronize this establishment. Had to make the stop here right after crossing the sound on the Edmonds-Kingston ferry. Ended up getting the Caramel Latte and Donuts. Original donuts all the way. So I was waiting on the ferry boat and decided to snag some coffee. A ruggedly nice coffee stand was next to the terminal so walked over... However, I was Instantly overcome with a magical aroma... and a sense of destiny. I beheld a mighty mechanical fountain flowing mighty mini-doughnuts into a massive caldron of awesomeness. My hobbit senses kicked in... Plain, powdered, or cinnamon were for the taking. Clearly this coffee stand was full of elvish magic. For a small fee, I was bestowed upon with a bag of the mighty mini-doughnuts. I just began to enjoy one of these magical minis when... THE HORN OF GONDOR!! (rather the Washington State version called the last boarding call ferry horn). I turned and made haste clenching the mini-doughnuts in my hand. I flew across the draw bridge to make it just in time and then I traveled to the east side with the knowledge of the coffee stand of elvish magic that serves the mighty mini-doughnuts and coffee as dark as a Mordorian night. Located right next to the ferry, in a gorgeous wooden shack. I ordered a latte and plain donuts. The donuts were horribly greasy and stale within minutes (probably because they were at least 10 minutes old before I got them). The latte was terrible. Just milky coffee. A nice setting for instagram photos, if that's your thing, but that's about it. read more

Missed the ferry by 2 cars, hadn't had breakfast, ambled up to this little coffee stand located right next to the entrance to the ferry waiting area hoping to find something to eat to ease my disappointment. They delivered! Got a muffin cup shaped frittata...had bacon, spinach, cheese, tomato and caramelized onion in it...ready in the deli case and they quickly warm it for you. Delicious.
