ETA 2/21/16: been here a few times now and still love this place! The hot breakfast is very good and drive thru line still much quicker and more efficient than Starbucks. I live in Terrytown and this cafe is definitely worth the drive for a treat every now and then. ------------------------------------------------ Just stopped here for my first time and this place is already worth 5 stars. I had an iced caramel latte which was great, I just a wish I'd had enough cash to try the breakfast sandwich because the pics on here look delicious! The cafe is very small and located in a large parking lot. Don't let the size or the long line fool you. This staff is organized and ready to roll. They send the girls outside to take orders while people wait so your drink is usually waiting for you at the window. The girls are also very sweet and everyone seems genuinely happy to be there (unlike the Starbucks by my house). I had always heard great things about them and glad I finally got to try it out. The biggest problem you'll have coming here is finding only one favorite item on the menu. I came on a recommendation a month ago and have been back 4 times since. I've had a different food item each visit and every item has been delicious. I love my iced vanilla coffee so haven't tried any of their other choices, but by the look of what they've served others, they are amazing concoctions! Love their coffee! I usually get a hot blended creme with espresso flavor. Nothing is overly sweet. Service is always above average. The drive through line can get long but it moves quickly, they usually have someone come outside and take your order to expedite the process. Haven't tried their breakfast items but I've tried their croissant sandwiches. Super tasty. The croissant was super buttery & flaky. Truly a hidden gem on the westbank. Small little coffee shop with big delicious taste of coffee and sandwiches! The menu is simple but has a variety enough for everyone to choose something, Delicious cafe mocha and iced lattes. I like to stop here for a quick bite as well. They have different soups of the day. I had the crawfish ettouffee the other day and it was so good! I also really like their club sandwich. Best place to grab breakfast on-the-go in the Westbank! I've been coming here before work to get the breakfast wrap, and it's so affordable and delicious. McDonald's breakfast burrito who??? Their breakfast are customizable to your liking as well. I haven't tried their coffee yet since I'm not much a coffee drinker, but my friends rave about their coffee all the time. Don't be scared of the long drive-thru line - it's not that bad and it's worth it (I promise); the staff and service are quick and efficient. I love this place. Go go go! read more

This sweet little place makes me wish I lived on the West Bank. They have really cute - shabby chic decor. I enjoyed the old and different chairs. I received personal and kind service from caring people. I had a late breakfast which was a croissant with egg and bacon and a really good cup of coffee with chicory. I was cheerfully served in a ceramic mug when I mentioned I do not care for Styrofoam and it was carried to my table for me. When my sandwich was brought to me, it was hot. I rarely get my food (especially breakfast) while it's hot. I can't wait to go back. I will be finding excuses to cross the river to go to J'Aime's again. read more

After years of lamenting that the only decent coffee place on the Westbank is PJ's and after quite a few people told me about J'aime Le Cafe', I finally decided to give this place a shot. Whoa. Okay, I don't know what they put in their coffee but I think that I'm already addicted. I got the 16oz iced latte and I seriously drank it so quickly that I wanted to turn around and go back and grab another one. It was packed with flavor, super tasty and just perfect for the warm day. I do love that J'aime Le Cafe' has a drive thru and, even though there were a couple of cars in front of me, the line moved quickly. I will absolutely return. read more

Yummy and tasty espresso! This cafe used to be an hour photo shop kiosk. Now it's a locally owned and operated coffee shop. The espresso here is of the HIGHEST quality. It's bold, rich, and flavourful. Not like Starbucks which uses mediocre espresso beans. I think they use Lavazza espresso beans, straight from Italy. A great espresso is the basis for ALL great drinks. It's a huge deal to have premium quality espresso, especially for me. I try to support local businesses around here and even though Starbucks is down the street, this is just a better place to be. Post-Katrina this place has gotten some great business! They are open early during your work week. Lots of JPPD frequent this place. They also serve sandwiches and desserts. read more

Best damned coffee on the wank! Their breakfast (hot sandwiches) and lunch (salads, sandwiches, etc) is damned good too! The regular coffee is some of the best I've had in the city. Always fresh & hot. The baristas are knowledgeable, friendly, and have been the same for years. The fact that this place has such low turnover with employees speaks to the quality of food, beverage, service, and customer that frequent j'aime le cafe for the love of coffee! PJ's used to have good coffee... most of them leave the crap in the pots too long and if you arent' there at 7am, it's hit or miss. Another great spot in the city is a place called Velvet across from the Whole Foods on Magazine. If you're near there and love coffee, squeeze in (literally) and give it a taste. J'aime does it right and their baristas are second to none! read more

I'm giving this little jewel, which sits out front of the Food Lion on Barataria, on the road to Marrero, 4 stars for several reasons. It's absolutely PERFECT for grabbing early coffee on your way down to Jean LaFittes Swamp Tours, plus they have both a drive through and two small tables where you can smoke while sipping really decent coffee made from freshly ground beans. Plus, the young lady who served me had a beautiful smile. There you have it. read more

Full disclosure no one makes a better sandwich for me than me. Today I order the Club sandwich which has ham, bacon, turkey, and beef with lettuce, tomatoes and pickles on a croissant. All the meats tasted very fresh which is usually the one issue when you order a freshly made sandwich. Think of subway trace of onion flavor in any sandwich you order. I can't wait to go back, oh did I mention that the sandwich was the size of a double whopper? I recommend this "café". I will update this review once I get some breakfast. read more

I have come here quite a few times and there hasn't been anything I can complain about. I got the sugar free vanilla iced coffee today. It was very good even though I would rather more of a coffee flavor. I ordered the Turkey and provolone on a croissant and oh my goodness, it was huge and very good! This place is so much better than Starbucks. You can actually taste what you're drinking. My favorite is the Iced Vanilla Chai Latte. I am not a fan of anything cold, but when my cousin ordered it and I tried hers, I couldn't resist. It was so rich. Since then, I feel no more love for Starbucks. This place is truly a diamond in the rough. I have lived in Harvey for almost 4 years and passed by this place almost every day and not once have I even thought about stopping there. My cousin and I tried this place out after hearing great things, the girl at the counter was very helpful and very nice! the inside is adorable, everything was great. This tiny coffee shop is a unique little treat on the Westbank. If you pull up to the drive thru in the morning, you will see a long line; but not to worry, they handle their lines well. Even in the cold, the baristas meet you at your car to take your order. Inside the shop (if you have the time), you are surrounded by coffee drinking locals, local art, and great conversation. Not the best place to go to study or work but it can be done after their morning rush. read more

They offer hot, iced or blended (I always get blended) and the extensive list of flavors is ridiculous!! (In the best way possible of course) love that I can get my drinks sugar free too. The girls are so sweet & they move the long line fast by going out to take orders with a smile on their faces waving at all customers. I've had a few breakfast items and they haven't let me down. They just opened in Luling and being that they are the ONLY coffee house open on Sunday on the west bank of St Charles Parish, I thought it would be crowded today and wasn't expecting much , LET ME TELL YOU , these people know how to run a business . This place is definitely better than Starbucks down the street. This is a cute, tiny shop that makes great tasting coffee. Service is quick and the staff are really accommodating and friendly. Went back again and spoke with Wyndy about the rating not showing up. This is a FIVE STAR rating from me and others but the stars are not showing up. I believe that the others who are listed on the 2nd page did not mean to give the shop and the girls a no star rating. For some reason, they are not showing up and she deserves a 5 Star for being a smart cookie and a college grad with a degree in Marketing. Now, today, I went in for coffee and to read a document. Then I needed a pen, then I needed a marker, then I needed more coffee...get the picture. This was/became my "office" and the girls got me everything I needed. You think those $7 dollar a cup places would do that for you? These are locals working for locals. I went in for 15 minutes and, as usual, came out 2 hours later and...not jittery. Thanks, Wyndy and YELP People, please make my other rating is a 5 star for professionalism when its due and it's due now and for the 12 years I've been coming there.
