She didn't even try to properly diagnose them and just ordered an X-ray. Their directions for X-rays were totally inaccurate. It wasted my time. When I called them back, the front desk person was not helpful, and it wasn't easy to get in touch with them. Finally, I got the X-ray done. I made another appointment with them. I waited over a month before I got to see the doctor again. This time was with the husband. He just looked at the X-ray quickly and recommended PHP. He didn't diagnose my knees either. Somehow, I went ahead with the PHP that day. He said it's not covered by insurance and it costs $900, which I paid right there. The PHP worked for a month or so, but it wore off quickly. And they also claimed my insurance, which I questioned with no definite answer from them. I called and emailed their admin who takes care of billing, but they were silent and cricket. It was a total waste of my time and money. Please stay away from them. Recently, I met a doctor friend who used to know this couple. He didn't recommend them. I wished I knew before and had gone to Stanford instead.

It really is difficult to get hold of the front desk as well. The whole entire appointment itself took less than 10 minutes majorly discussing about insurance coverage for the MRI that I requested to take since his wife informed that if there is no pain in the ankle that I had due to a previous fracture injury then there's nothing much to do. She didn't even think about observing it but with her two eyes and told me not to worry since it's from previous damaged tissues around the ligaments which I can even observe that myself. Despite filling out the online pre check in form you still have to fill out multiple papers of new patient forms; really disappointed with her bedside manner nonetheless the professionalism from her. I requested to see a doctor who can listen to my concerns NOT the billing department. Cancelled the whole entire MRI and seeking for a new orthopedic doctor. Good luck.

I have no problem with Dr. Kahn. He was very thorough and explain that I did not need surgery, which is a good thing, and gave good advice on my options. In fact, Dr. Kahn did a great job with my wife's back surgery. My problem is with the doctor's office not getting back to me. I never dealt with a doctors office not doing the doctors recommendation and not getting back to a patient. What am I supposed to do now? I am in pain and I'm trying to continue my recovery by trying acupuncture, but I cannot because no one called me back. Also, I believe Dr. Kahn needs to tell the acupuncture how to treat me. If you do reply to this please do not tell me to contact the practice manager at 408-540-6861 because they do not answer or return calls. I'm very disappointed and expected better treatment from a Doctor (OFFICE).

Because I have osteoporosis, the bone had collapsed rather than breaking cleanly, and the fracture continued to worsen, making surgery necessary. From the moment I stepped into Dr. Eric Kagel's office, I knew I was in the right place. He is an exceptionally talented orthopedic surgeon with a wonderful bedside manner. He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered every question, and inspired complete confidence at a time when I was feeling anxious. His entire team deserves recognition as well. Everyone was friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. Every follow-up appointment was efficient, informative, and reassuring, and I always felt that I was receiving outstanding care. Today, my wrist is fully functional and completely pain-free. Apart from a small scar, you would never know I had surgery to repair it with a plate and screws. The result is remarkable, and I am incredibly grateful. Living with osteoporosis can make every fall feel frightening, but knowing there are surgeons with Dr. Kagel's skill and expertise gives me enormous confidence for the future. It's not like an off on switch, your ankle/knee/back is unhealthy and you magically get better. The reality is that the best doctors listen and do their best to help you improve. I've had a complex set of issues that have exacerbate each other and Dr Vaughn is the second specialist I've gone to specifically for my knee. He listened and while I am not magically all better he gave me the feedback about what I could/should do and didn't try to sell me something. Instead, he did the examination and then recommended the MRI because the bones look fine but the soft stuff isn't visible in an xray (the first specialist told me age and arthritis and recommended a shot that only made things worse). I'm expecting at best that I'll know whether there is something that needs to be repaired but at worst I'll at least discover enough to help me improving my mobility and management of pain. In the spring of 2025, my husband, Jamie, needed to have his gallbladder removed after experiencing persistent problems and inflammation. His surgery was initially scheduled for about a month later, but when his symptoms continued to worsen, we contacted Dr. Nguyen. After discussing what Jamie was experiencing, we decided it was best not to wait--and it was a good thing we didn't. Dr. Nguyen performed the surgery the very next day at Good Samaritan Hospital. Dr. Nguyen is not only an expert in his field, but he also has an exceptional bedside manner. He was attentive, reassuring, and continued to follow up after the procedure. Jamie recovered wonderfully. Fast-forward to September 2026, when Jamie developed severe abdominal pain and went to the emergency room at El Camino Hospital. Testing revealed appendicitis, and we were so relieved to discover that Dr. Nguyen was there and would once again be performing his surgery. Jamie has endured several serious health challenges over the past few years, including vestibular migraines and open-heart surgery at Stanford for an aortic aneurysm, which required part of his aorta to be replaced. Needless to say, he has been through a lot. Seeing Dr. Nguyen immediately lifted his spirits because he knew he would literally be in the best hands. Jamie is currently recovering in the hospital, where he is being monitored because of his medical history, but the surgery went extremely well, and we are confident he will have another smooth recovery. We are deeply grateful for Dr. Nguyen's expertise, compassion, attentiveness, and genuine care for his patients. He takes the time necessary to help ensure the best possible outcome and makes both the patient and their family feel comfortable and supported. Dr. Nguyen is an amazing surgeon, and we recommend him wholeheartedly. If you need a procedure within his area of expertise, do yourself a favor and schedule an appointment with him.
