In June 2025, I started having lower back pain tingling in my legs and a feeling of pins and needles in my knees. I had physical therapy, but that did nothing for me. I was then referred to Dr. Khan. We talked and he suggested that I have surgery on my back. April 23, 2026 Dr Khan performed a lumbar laminectomy. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Fahd Khan and his assistant Rosario. A close friend of mine who had been struggling with severe SI joint pain for years and was passed from doctor to doctor without getting a clear diagnosis or lasting relief. It was incredibly frustrating watching her go through that. Worst experience I have ever had with a doctor! Without going into detail I will just say that I am in excruciating pain from a bulging disc in my lower back that causes me to have to lay face up on the ground for at least 50% of the day to get relief from the constant pain for the past 9 months. Dr. Kahn basically read the report from my MRI and said that there is nothing wrong with me. He did not even look at the images as I tried to show him one of the images of the MRI on my phone but he did not care. He said there was nothing he could do for me so I asked if I could at least get a epidural and he said that in his opinion a epidural would do nothing because there was nothing wrong and there was nothing even close to a nerve. I get the feeling that Dr. Kahn does not listen to his patients and that he does not care what they say and at least with me he had no sympathy for the overwhelming and constant pain that I am in. read more

I beg of you, for the health and well-being of your loved ones, do not go here. My boyfriend went to the ER at O'Connor Hospital, where he was assigned Dr. Kahn as his attending neurosurgeon, as he had an accident resulting in broken vertebrae. We were then referred to his practice. It seemed fine in the beginning, but when we were trying to get his Short Term Disability figured out, we couldn't get the office to fill out their portion, even though they said they would do it. It took numerous emails and phone calls to do it, and by the time they did, it was the LAST day before my boyfriend's disability application would not be accepted. The visits were always super short. We didn't get to see any X-Rays, just verbal communication from Dr. Kahn that "it was still healing." I don't know if it was because my boyfriend was young and they didn't think it was a big deal, but we were completely shocked by the lack of care and patient education. I thought the pain would be over, but my boyfriend needed his disability extended, which he had 20 days to fill out paperwork. Once again, it was nearly impossible to get ahold of the front office. Rosario does not respond, nor follow up. This could be a staffing issue, because clearly I'm not the only one who has issues with Rosario. Overall, the care felt lackadaisical, we felt left in the dark about my boyfriend's health and recovery, communication was non-existent, and the billing came super late and was inconsistent. About 10 months post-accident, my boyfriend was still experiencing neck pain. We went to his PCP who then referred us to a neck specialist. The specialist was shocked that the initial X-rays were only taken from one angle, rather than all around. He gets new X-rays only to discover that he had an old neck injury that Kahn never noticed. Dr. Khan is a fellow of Dr. Henderson of Stanford Hospital Neurological surgical department Doctor Henderson torch has definitely not only been handed down to Doctor Khan, it's just as bright as Henderson's. Today Doctor Khan performed an outpatient surgery on my father, Doctor Khan spent time with us earlier this week at Preop as well as today before and after the surgery. He took the time to discuss new procedures he does that reduces the risk of infection to nearly 0 he also corrected an issue with the previous operation in the same location and took steps to make sure the problem would not reoccur. The surgery went off with out a hitch and Pops only feels slight discomfort from the incision made. Great job Doctor Khan!! read more

Rosario, not sure why you're so difficult it to work with. You lie and never return any patients phone calls. You take forever to send out order forms for X-rays, MRI's, not sure why you haven't got in trouble for what you do. You don't help patients and you never return phone calls. Patients need help but you avoid to help anyone. Dr Khan needs to be aware of this since we can't talk to him directly and you never answer the phone. Dr Khan also doesn't remember what he tells his patients. For example, how long to wear a brace after surgery then keeps changing it up. After meeting the doctor himself, he seems to not care what his front staff does with his patients. Worst clinic ever. read more

I saw Dr. Khan for a herniated disc that was pressing on my sciatic nerve. Dr. Khan explained my options and risks. I decided to have Dr. Khan perform Lumbar Microdiscectomy surgery. Dr. Khan answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns before and after surgery. Surgery went VERY well and I feel fantastic. Granted, I must still take it easy but it's nice not to be in chronic pain. Dr. Khan gave me my smile back! I went to the ER by ambulance to Good Sam in San Jose crying and yelling with pain from a ruptured disc at L3/4. This doctor did not spend even one minute evaluating me and did not show me the picture of my MRI of the large protrusion compressing the L4 nerve root which was quite apparent even to a layperson. He didn't evaluate the way I walked which was impaired and I also had a lack of sensation in my leg/foot. The pain without meds was severe. He did the entire evaluation while I was laying in bed. He recommended large doses of steroids, with pain meds and muscle relaxers. I was then sent to an acute rehab hospital for 5 days where they started me on physical therapy which likely could make my situation worse. I got a 2nd opinion and the new doc said there's no way I could have gotten better without surgery. Because of Dr. Kahn's actions my surgery was delayed for over 2 weeks which could have cause more damage to the nerves. Seems he did not follow the standard of care in how to evaluate a patient. read more

Been to a few doctors lately regarding low back pain and pain shooting down my leg. Have had a real tough time finding someone who actually really cares about what might be best for me. Here is a perfect example of i dont care get the surgery. I ask simple questions of possible bad outcomes which he evaded. Then when i persisted finally made up percentages. Then in the end yes you are perfect canidate. Was not reassuring just seemed to want me out of consult and into surgery. Summary: Was first appointment and waited 30 mins to see dr. Got maybe 15 mins if not less with him. Charged over $500. What a joke. Has low reviews on healthgrade as well. Should have listened. read more

On February 29th, my husband fell off a ladder while trimming a tree in our back yard, No one was home. We drove to the ER where we met Dr. Khan, in the ICU checked on my husband thoroughly. He was polite, professional, answered all and any questions we had, He was able to explain everything so we could understand. Two moths later suddenly my husband couldn't talk, I promptly got into the drivers seat and drove to Good Sams ER. Fortunately, Dr. Khan was in the hospital when we arrived. He was there when my husband had all the tests and told us Steve had a subdural heamatoma, Fortunately, all went well. Dr Khan treated and saved my husband's life when my husband had a Subarachnoid Brain Hemorrhage from an abnormality in his artery. My husband was taken to the ER at Good Samaritan hospital when he collapsed at home. We were lucky that Dr. Khan was on call that night. He performed a craniectomy to release the intracranial pressure. Following that procedure my husband was in the ICU at Good Sam for 28 days and Dr Khan came to see him everyday and looked after him with great care and focus. I required surgery for an implant placement & Dr. Khan came highly recommended by the councilor from the implant company that I asked for a recommendation. He was an hour away & I do not travel well (very car sick on top of other health issues), so it was a tough decision. She said she would recommend him to her own family. So we traveled the hour to at least meet him. He seemed caring & sensitive, concerned about my welfare if not a bit confused about what I understood. He seemed to think I had no idea about anything that I spoke to him about when the truth was, he just didn't listen. I summed it up to him being a doctor & having a lot of patients & therefore not remembering our previous discussions. Looking back, I think it was a warning sign that I ignored; he doesn't listen to his patients. He thinks you are an idiot & he knows everything so nothing that you say matters because he already knows everything! But hindsight is 20/20 & he seemed so personable that I agreed to the surgery. Then the day after my surgery he came into my hospital room to check on me. I had two posted goals to leave the hospital "Pain control" & "Walking". Pain control was finally found around 4am that morning (My surgery had been around 8am the previous morning) & not by the medication he planned to send home with me...nor was I able to walk except short walks to the bathroom with assistance that made me cry from the severity of the pain. So he asked what medication the nurses gave me that worked & I told him & he said that was an IV only medication. I thought that unfortunate if not a bit odd but didn't argue...I don't know these medications after all. Then I told him that, as we had discussed previously, I wished to stay in the hospital another night given the inability to control my pain at home with medications, the hour drive home on horrible roads, & that the third day after surgery, for me, was the worst pain wise. Suddenly, he's telling me my insurance wouldn't cover another night. I didn't know it at this moment, but he was lying to me. Not only had the second night already been cleared with my insurance, but they had expected me to be there two nights! I found this out when the insurance rep came by my room about 15 minutes after he left. So that was lie number 1. He knew I was cleared for a second night but insisted to me that my insurance did not clear a second night. The next lie was about the medication. We found out about this from one of the nurses. That the "IV only" drug he wouldn't give me was easily obtainable in pill form. So lie number 2. When confronted on that he wrote me the script at such a low dosage it was barely useful for me. As if him lying to me twice just to get me to go home from the hospital after 1 night wasn't bad enough, in this same visit to my room when we were "discussing" me staying another night: He was down right insistent that -everyone- is exactly the same & that he has "done hundreds of these surgeries & knows how they go"! I told him, with all due respect that perhaps his other patients were that way, but for me it was different. Every surgery or accident I have ever had has been the worst on the third day following. From pulled muscles to horse back riding falls...from Cesarean Section child birth to other operative procedures, it is -always- the third day. He almost yelled at me, his voice clearly raising enough to be louder than normal speech without screaming on the hospital wing...telling me I didn't trust him! How can a man that you just allowed to cut open your spine & insert a device into it have the audacity to say you do not trust him? I'm not sure what Dr. Khan's definition of trust is...but I fully believe that a mother to a young child coming to him for help, based on another person's recommendation, for a surgery that required the removal of bone from my spine as well as cutting into the nerve sheath itself to insert the device, running risk of paralysis is pretty damn trusting! I was in tears when he literally stormed out & slammed the door behind him, asking him why he was acting this way. The woman who had recommended him was in the room at the time & she was in as much shock as I was. She apologized profusely for his behavior, saying she had never seen him act like that. We went home that evening, not because I felt it was right...but because I didn't want to see Dr. Khan again, which I would have the next morning. As with all surgeries, I was given a list of "things to watch for" & told to "contact the office" if we saw any of these symptoms. To my dismay, on day 3 the symptoms began showing up; headaches, low grade fever, etc etc. My husband called his office & he told us to "not worry about it, that is normal. The next day I was taken to the ER with a 103 degree fever & hallucinations. I had to be taken by ambulance to him, an hour away, & stay in the hospital another 5 days. TLDR: He doesn't listen find another Doctor. read more

I had a previous back surgery that resulted in a pinched nerve that prevented me from any quality of life. I was referred to Doctor Khan and from the first meeting I felt like I was really being listened to. I tend to ramble when explaining things, but Doctor Khan never seemed to be in a hurry and let me explain things in my long winded ways. He took the time to explain everything to me and never made me feel rushed. My surgery was a huge success and I now have a better quality of life than I have in the past three years. He also was there for me after surgery, which a lot of Doctors aren't. They tend to disappear and on to the next. Not Doctor Khan. He is always there for questions and support. I would recommend Doctor Khan to anyone who needs his services. I followed his instructions for recovery and as a result I healed much faster and back to doing everything before surgery.
