This place is a small mom and pop restaurant with a great beer menu and a narrow food menu focused on german classic dishes. The side salad was a typical hearty german salad with all of the classic fresh ingredients. We had the pork schnitzel and sauerbraten - both of the dishes were as good as we have ever eaten. The schnitzle was so fresh, you could hear them pounding out the meat back in the kitchen before cooking it. They really gave it the business - It was as as tender as it sounded. Lol Because I grew up in a german household, my metric of a great german restaurant is by their spaetzle. And this place did not disappoint - cooked slightly crispy just like my grandma used to do. I love German food, language, culture, etc., so it was fun to meet friends here for an experience. The ambiance is quaintly German & the service, waitress Sabine, was attentive, informative, & efficient. I had the Rinderroulade (beef rouladen), Rotkohl (red cabbage), & Spatzle (droplets of egg noodles) with Goulash Soup as a starter. I've made rouladen but mine had an ample supply of dill pickles, sliced onions, bits of bacon, & mustard rolled up inside thinly sliced & pounded round steak. This presentation sadly lacked most of the above ingredients. It came though with a rich brown gravy which helped compensate for the missing stuffings. My Spatzle was in the form of strands of egg noodles, not the traditional droplets, the red cabbage was borderline tart, meh. The Goulash Soup could best be characterized as "beef vegetable soup" with a heavy emphasis on diced carrots. It was flavorful; the beef bits were tender, but a brothy presentation. My wife enjoyed her Schweinebraten (roast porkloin). It was cut-with-a-fork, tear-apart tender, flavorful, with generous brown gravy. We'd return for their hot potato salad, potato soup, pork loin, & perhaps Schnitzel. read more

Visited this quaint restaurant for lunch on Thursday. I arrived around 1155 and there was a couple and I. It took about 20 minutes before my food arrived BUT was worth the wait. I ordered the currywurst and a side of spaetzle... was very good. The restaurant is very small only 10 tables and bar seating. The rustic decor is very warm home like feeling. In Tampa for the weekend and took a chance on German food. We live in Jacksonville, FL and there are no good German restaurants within 40 miles. We lived in Germany for 6 years and really appreciate good German food. Jagerstruble fits the bill as a good German restaurant. The Jager Schnitzel eand Spatle were very well prepared and presented. The portions were generous, but best of all was the salad. Amazing carrot salad and the carrot salad was the best I have ever tasted and I am not a big carrot lover. Kudos to Jagerstuble. Fantastic food and a super nice waitress! I'm German and always iffy with German restaurants but this one is excellent! From the breadbasket with homemade garlic butter to the soups and salad! The Schnitzel are perfect in size thickness and rast the Sauerbraten was nicely marinated! The Black Forest cake was different then what i Know but very tasty. Come hungry and you will leave with leftovers! The inside is very comfortable but thigh . The restaurant has only 10 tables so I would to a reservation to make sure to get a seat! Also they only have one waitress and the food is made to order ( you can hear them banging the schnitzel). I had an amazing time there and so did my two teenage kids! Thank you! read more

Wow what a find! We will definitely be back. Amazing food, great decor and atmosphere, extremely authentic. Everything we ate was wonderful, and yes, it takes a little longer but everything is cooked to order. The only thing that was both interesting and a little off putting, was what I would considering a great marketing ploy. You've seen others mention having reservations in other reviews I'm sure. Well, we didn't have one, we were asked at the door, and upon saying that we didn't have one we were sort of tsk tsked, and she said she would see what she could do. There were 3 of us and she put us at a table with a "reserved" placard on it. She took the placard off and commented about being able to fit us in. We were there for 2 hours. During that time a few other parties came in as well and were asked about reservations each time. None of them ever had any. But somehow, they were always willing to give up a table with a "reserved" placard on it to fit them in.... An interesting way to make the customer feel special and make the business seem more busy at the same time. Unless of course, every reserved table was a no-show and we all happened to get really, really, lucky. :) read more

Three ladies were turned away while we were there and there were only six people in the entire restaurant and they turned away business. Thus three stars. Service was great! Our server was very attentive. The Hungarian goulash was delicious. We both had the Wiener schnitzel for lunch with fries, beef gravy and carrots. I have been driving by this place for years and finally decided to give them a try. From the moment we walked in the door we were pleasantly surprised. The place has s small but Brinker got and spotless. We were seated and the waitress handed us their drink menu, I was impressed with the huge selection of German beers. There was also a great wine selection. The food was amazing, my bf had schnitzel and I had meatballs and they were delicious. My boyfriend had potato soup while I opted for the salad plate which consisted of German potato salad carrot salad cabbage salad cucumber salad bean salad and a little lettuce. I've eaten here twice and plan to come back again! I go to the Deli a lot during the week. You have to come hungry as portions are ample sized. The Curry Wurst is best this side of Germany! We try this whenever it's on a menu and their's is the best.one of the few German restaurants that has Mezzo Mix (orange&coke soda). The food was plentiful and totally delicious! I had a bowl of goulash. Very rich and well seasoned. Honestly that would have made a meal. We both had Hunter's Schnitzel with Spaetzel. The breading on the Schnitzel was thin and crispy. As a person who can not eat heavily breaded items I truly appreciated it and that they offer it unbreaded as well. There is a beautifully rich mushroom gravy over the Schnitzel. If mushrooms are not your thing, they also offer a brown gravy instead. I know they had a few offerings for vegetarians, but I'll be honest and say I didn't give them a strong examination. The place is small, nice with a friendly staff. Totally enjoyed the experience and will be going back. They do take plastic be aware that the processing fee applies. In other words a few bucks less for cash. read more

This restaurant will charge you their credit card fees if you choose to pay by credit. In all my years I have never been to a restaurant where I have received two prices for the food I ordered. This is a real hidden gem! Clean and quaint. Friendly service and amazing food. My husband said the Currywurst was some of the best he's had since having it in Germany. You can tell everything was homemade and you could almost taste the pride that went into it. The attached deli offers a wonderful selection of meats, cheeses and home made desserts. Theres a handful of tables so not many people.. so my family and i were wondering why the food was taking so long to come out the waitress told us "well this isnt fast food its cooked to order" we all look at each other and couldn't believe that woman said that.. well duh most restaurants are cooked to order and bigger didnt take that looonnnggg!!! I took my husband to Jagerstuble on Thursday, Feb 21 for a delayed birthday dinner. The interior looked nice but all of the tables were extremely close together. I ordered iced tea and my husband ordered a German beer. My iced tea had extremely little ice and the tea was so weak you could see very clear through it. I got one refill. I asked for a refill to go and they said they didn't have cups for that. I probably would have been charged extra for it. My husband ordered the sausage platter that had 3 different types of sausage plus sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. He had plenty leftover to bring home. I had the Schweinebraten mit Spätzle und Rotkraut (pork roast with spaetzle and red cabbage). It was ok but not the best. I did ask for Hunter sauce in place of the gravy that comes on it. It was served with the regular gravy on it and a gravy boat of Hunter Sauce. I tasted the Hunter Sauce and it was a very strong mushroom taste. I like mushrooms but it was overwhelming. I was not told that there was an extra charge. When I received the bill there was an extra charge of $2.95 for the Hunter Gravy. I asked the lady (owner I assume) why I was charged for it and that the server did not inform me that there would be a charge. She said "I'm sorry" and left it at that. I had leftovers to bring home but will make adjustments on it. Also,regarding the tables so close together. There was a party of 4 who were seated next to us. The gentleman with his back to our table had to sit farther back from his table because of his size. No offense. It pushed up on our table so we had to slide ours over. When we left, I had to scoot along the cushioned bench past the other table next to us in order to get out. There is a lot to be desired there. Would like to try the deli! read more

Took my family of 5 there last night (6 Dec 18) with no reservations. We were reminded politely that it's best to have a reservation with a group of 5 as the place is small. She setup a table for us. The place was full, maybe one other empty table for 4. I will say this.. spent 3 years in the Netherlands and visited Germany practically weekly for dinner. we love our schnitzel :) Here where I live, I have had a hard time find a German restaurant that has the right mushroom sauce for their jaeger schnitzel. When I say right.. I mean, how I remember it tasting. Well I finally found the place! ha ha.. this food they served us was just as we remembered it from our time overseas. We all had their potato soup.. which was fabulous. We had 2 Jaeger Schnitzels, 2 Weiner Schnitzels and 1 Chicken Schnitzel. I really loved their jaeger schnitzel the sauce was perfect! The kids liked their schnitzel as well. To us.. everything was authentic.. the starter bread, the same as we remember even the garlic butter spread! My kids had an Austrian beverage (like a soda) that we had while there.. but never have seen in the states... so cool :D You could even hear them hammering out the schnitzel in the back.. just like you would in the smaller places in Germany :D This is not a quick dinner place.. and it's the same in Germany...They make their schnitzel to order.. so you will be there a bit and enjoy the evening out :) Me and my family really enjoyed our entire experience there and will definitely be going back.. we finally found our place :D read more
