Service is great and very friendly, and the restaurant is impeccably clean. The food is a solid 3. The hot and sour soup was great. I had the combo F with chicken, shrimp and vegetable. It was very goopy. The shrimp tasted nice, but the chicken was covered in an unidentified sauce. This was later identified as "almond gravy" - it was tasteless and simply added goop and sogginess to the chicken. The chicken itself was cooked well, as were the shrimp. The fried rice was fairly generic and required soy sauce. So, the meal was just fine. But, rather pricey for being fairly mediocre. read more

I don't what it is about this place. White people cooking back there or what. But the food is overpriced and sucks egg rolls. The fried rice has absolutely no flavor! The "egg flower" soup is absolutely horrible, but they give you a huge bowl of it. Sadly it lacks flavor. No spice in the Generals chicken, may as well just call it honey chicken. What gives here?? The food was delicious. Exceptional service with friendly caring staff. We had a great poo poo platter for 3. Sweet n Sour Pork Mongolian Beef Fried rice and Steamed rice. Hot Tea and water. Everything was delicious. The music was BARELY audible, and that's part of the experience. The restaurant including the restroom was impeccably clean. Ambience great and food was excellent. But what made my visit the best was my server, Yvette! She was so attentive, checked on me several times. Had to go box ready when I was ready to go. She brought me a container for the sweet red sauce and even asked me if I had enough. my family and I were in Jade garden today and we had a young man who was a server. He looks maybe 15 full face of make up fake nails hands a table next to us an electric flyswatter for them to start killing flies while there are tables in there eating I'm not sure what kind of establishment they are running or where they are getting these new hires but they should probably figure it out. We were on a roadtrip and stopped here on the way home from Glacier National Park. It's nice looking inside. There was hardly anyone there around 2:00pm. We ordered egg drop soup, tofu fried rice, stir fried vegetables and honey walnut shrimp. My favorite was the vegetable stir fry. No idea why this place is rated so low.... We were greeted with friendly smiles by everyone we met. Our hostess was so sweet and our server was amazing! Now the food! How is this only 3 stars?? We ordered the Chefs Choice which comes with the Po Po Platter which is amazing with a really good presentation..... And SOOO much food... then they followed that with 2 more FULL servings of entrees and rice. I can't believe how much food we got for what I think is very little $. This is a favorite local spot for ambient dining. Great for large or small groups, and always full before prom. Very decent Americanized Chinese food. If you want a gluten free and soy free option, ask for the orange chicken made gluten free, aka with steamed rice, no sauce, and no breading. The egg flower soup is also gluten free. read more

Today I ordered a meal and a meal to take home with me. My takeaway meal came with it's own bandaid. When I got home and was putting food in the refrigerator, I noticed the bandaid piece. I called about it and asked to speak to a manager. She questioned me about it. Her questions seemed to suggest that I must have done something to my food when I packaged it up to leave the restaurant. There was no suggestion on the restaurants part that they might have been at fault. No level of concern, no apology, no suggestion of a remedy. I have been a regular customer for all years of the restaurants existence (decades). No more. Bad food experience ($11.00) and bad customer service have changed my behavior. read more

Jade Garden - good location and good service but the food is what deserved 2 stars. Quite frankly it's bland. Immediately greeted and sat, we started perusing the menu. Started with some potstickers which were decent; good thing there was dipping sauce because they were fairly bland. I ordered the Cashew Chicken and my husband the General's Chicken. Both were just bland; not heavy on the salt thankfully but not a lot of flavor. I think we have been spoiled by amazing Chinese food elsewhere and have higher expectations. This was the absolute worst Chinese food I have ever had. All of my food had a burnt taste to it...as if the cooking oils hadn't been changed in a long time. It was also extremely salty. We ordered shrimp egg foo young and orange chicken. To say that it was horrible would be an understatement. I've never seen egg foo young look like what I got. The orange chicken was all bread. The counter help was quick and nice. I didn't go past the counter, so I don't know what the place looked like inside. I'm done with Chinese food in Helena. We had dinner tonight, the server was great. She was very friendly, accommodating and tried to do her best. We ordered a PoPo platter, a bowl of Wonton soup and the yin yang shrimp. The platter was ok at best, soup was Luke warm but the shrimp was awful. The Garlic was burnt black and the honey shrimp tasted like a paste sauce with zero flavor. We brought it to the servers attention, she immediately tried to fix it, and came back to the table with the dish we sent back, saying the owner said it looks fine and the manager won't come talk to you. So I just said that was fine if they could just take it off our bill. She was about to cry, we felt bad for her. She took it off the bill but I have never been to a restaurant where the manager or owner refuses to fix it. Never again will we patronize this place. During the pandemic we've frequented their takeout menu every month of so. Food is good, prob 4 out of 5 stars these days, seems to have improved in the last couple years. But it certainly wasn't as good as I remember. I got the Po Po Platter to start: Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoons, Beef Chaun'r, Fried Chicken bites for dipping in Sweet N Sour and BBQ Pork. Good portion but everything lacked flavor and salt. It all had a bitter note at the end other than the Beef Chaun'r, skewered marinated beef which had decent flavor but were chewy and hard to eat. The Rangoons were soft, not crisp. My main dish was Combo B with Chicken Subgum Chowmein, Almond Chicken and Fried Rice. Again just lacking in flavor over all. Decent portion and fresh food. It just didn't taste good which is the most important part, right?? I got it to go and they forgot silverware. And I'm pretty sure they forgot ketchup for the BBQ pork unless they don't do that kind of thing here. The meal was quickly prepared and staff were friendly. But I'm not coming back. read more
