First time here and last time here. I love Chinese food but this one was a bit disappointing. My shrimps had tons of pepper and super salty and my pork fried rice was soggy. I hate leaving bad reviews. The actual restaurant looks like it needs a deep cleaning. The service was ok. It's the worst feeling when you're super hungry and the food that you purchase is nasty. What a waste of money!!!

This place was perfectly acceptable. It wasn't great, wasn't terrible. Service was ok - very rushed, but again - just fine. I had snow pea chicken, some of the broccoli in it had a bitter taste... so I avoided the rest. But it was all fine.

Lunch shrimp special with noodles

We ordered delivery from here because we just moved to town. The potstickers had a great flavor but we're soggy by the time they got to me the egg drop soup was okay. We ordered the shrimp and broccoli lunch special with noodles. I was surprised that the noodles or spaghetti pasta. We stopped eating though, when we found a big hair in it (pictured on the bag on the top). We would not order again from this place. It might've been my bad though for ordering when they first opened at 11:30 AM.

Combo C. Do not recommend.

I was skeptical about the bad reviews regarding this place, but they're fairly validated. Definitely the smallest portion of Chinese food I've ever been served, which wouldn't be a problem if the price was right. Flavor 5/10 Value 1/10 I ordered the Combo C for $16.50, hoping it would be a feast like 100% of the other Chinese restaurants I've been to around the country, but it was a half-sized entree with maybe 3 slices of chicken and a few mushrooms. Flavor was on par with Chinese buffet food. Hot & sour soup tasted like they were running low so they just added a bunch of water to it. Fried rice was better than some, worse than most. Egg roll fried at too low of a temp so it was a grease sponge. Fried shrimp were decent, I'll give them that. Overall I'd rather just get Chinese food from the Safeway deli than spend my money here again, which is unfortunate because I really love Chinese food (even though I'm Japanese... Sorry grandma haha).

Meh, this place is just okay. But not many choices in Butte to choose from for Chinese food. Food is overpriced for the quality and taste. General Tsao chicken was chewy and a Mongolian beef didn't taste well. The Mongolian beef was mostly onions. The chow mein was not bad. I've had their appetizers in the past and those were good.

Not the freshest

The restaurant is upstairs- when you walk into the bar head down until you see the stairway going up, though the bartender for Acoma will be more than happy to direct you as well. Inside is a hodge podge of seaside paintings, flowers, animal statues and Buddha. Tablecloths are vinyl for an easy clean up. I guess Bath & Body Works had a sale in the home goods dept. Don't get me wrong, it's really clean in here! the bathrooms too. Okay, on to why I'm really writing this review: the sushi- I get it, it's not their main thing, but the rolls had the tiniest pieces of fish they could get away with. It literally tasted like all I was eating was rice. I got the spicy tuna, Butte maki roll and nigiri combo. The portions on the combo were big, but not fresh. The avocado nigiri (laughs) wasn't ripe enough yet and hard to eat. The waiter was very flippant, and did not bring small plates as is usually customary when ordering sushi, so I used a napkin as a makeshift plate. Maybe the Chinese is better. But the sad part? I know I'll be back because where else can I get sushi without driving 100 miles? Here.

This excellent restaurant is located in the old Acoma Lounge. The new owners have done an amazing job with the interior and is an excellent place for family dining. The food and service here was excellent as well. We all had different combination plates which came with plenty of food. You won't leave hungry for sure.

If you get two entree's make sure you order extra fried rice. They finesse you & combine the rice for both entrees.

To the owner, if you are reading this: I hope you understand the seriousness of these complaints. I…read moreintend to report my concerns to the Butte-Silver Bow Health Department regarding the food conditions we observed and to the appropriate Montana authorities regarding customer treatment and the confrontation over tipping. If violations are found, you should be prepared for any enforcement action the authorities determine is appropriate, including possible closure for serious violations. I honestly had no intention of looking up this restaurant or leaving a negative review. As a fellow business owner, I understand that businesses have difficult days, and I don't take negative reviews lightly. However, what happened to my family was so unusual that I became curious and decided to read what other customers had experienced. I was shocked to find years of reviews describing aggressive tip demands, customers allegedly being yelled at, followed into parking lots, banned from returning, or refused service. Even more concerning were allegations of racial discrimination and mistreatment involving children, elderly customers, and families. Some reviewers described confrontations over children making small messes or customers leaving food on their plates. I cannot independently verify those allegations, but reading so many similar accounts after my own experience was disturbing. Montana Administrative Rule 24.16.3022(1) addresses voluntary tipping. Under this regulation, the decision to leave a tip, how much to give, and generally who receives it belongs to the customer. A tip is not something a restaurant owner is entitled to demand through intimidation. While I understand that asking for a tip does not automatically establish a legal violation, I believe the conduct described in these reviews deserves attention. Now, here is what happened to my family. My family and I are from California, and we stopped at Asia Buffet in Butte, Montana, while traveling. I've visited 48 states and several countries. California has large Asian communities and excellent Asian cuisine, but I've also visited states with very limited Asian dining options that offered much better food at lower prices. At this restaurant, several buffet trays were nearly empty, the food tasted terrible, and we barely ate. I considered walking out, but we had already paid before sitting down, and it was late. They charged $5 for my two-year-old, told us only one-year-olds eat free, and offered no senior discount for my older mother. I understand that different businesses have different pricing policies, but the overall value was disappointing. There were also many empty tables during our visit. I witnessed the man I understood to be the owner yelling at his cleaning employee. The employee lowered his head while being scolded, and I genuinely felt sad watching that interaction. This was a self-service buffet. Because of the poor food, lack of service, and rude behavior, we initially had no intention of tipping. However, my children had made a small mess, and I decided to leave something specifically for the cleaning employee. As I walked outside with my two-year-old, the man demanded a tip. Despite being upset, I went outside to get cash anyway. While I was standing beside our car counting the money, he ran outside toward our vehicle and began yelling at the window where my husband, older mother, and young children were sitting. I approached him with the cash in my hand and told him that I had intended to give him that money, but after seeing him run outside and yell at my family, I would not give him anything. He then calmly walked back inside. I've traveled to 48 states, and never once has anyone run after my family demanding a tip while I was already preparing to leave money for an employee. As a business owner myself, I understand the challenges of running a restaurant, including food costs, labor, and difficult customers. But none of those challenges excuse disrespecting employees or intimidating families over a voluntary gratuity. Montana's tipping rule recognizes that the customer makes the decision about a tip. I had every right to decide whether to leave money and whom I wanted to appreciate. I intend to ask the Montana Department of Labor & Industry to review whether any applicable rules were violated. Having limited competition in an area does not justify poor food quality, disappointing value, or mistreatment of customers. A business cannot demand appreciation from customers while failing to show them basic respect. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Asia Buffet.
