Duck
FoodLover F.

All the food is okay Not great Long lags between courses We were there over 2 1/2 hours. The duck was nice, but rare, not medium rare as promised The French onion soup and the bread and maple bacon were the best items The steak was good but a weird herb added to the stuffed potato The crab cake was not good Seafood pasta was decent but sorry we didn't get steak instead

An absolute must for the high end foodie. There is no dress code so the atmosphere is a come as you are welcoming all, but how can you not dress for dinner to compete the experience. This is a 5 out of 5 in all categories for me. I reserved a table for my husband and I for our 10th wedding anniversary. We walked in and the hostess smiled and greeted us by name on our reservation. We had the most delightful server, Mamie, who was assisting a birthday couple at a nearby table and brought them the only flourless chocolate cake you can find in Helena with a candle. So sweet. We pursued the amazing wine menu, as created by the owner Keith (a level 3 sommelier) and settled on a Coates du Rhône which brought me back to my summer trip to the 2024 Paris Olympics. We ordered the candied bacon, an absolute must try and french onion soup for starters. The seasonal daily special was a pork chop, apple cranberry relish and sweet potato mash which I could not help but savor every bite, while the husband ordered the ribeye with garlic mash which despite his best effort could not finish. This historical site and gem of a steakhouse would make Emeril throw out a Bang! And Guy drop down "Flavor town" on Chef Brandon's delightful dishes!

This was a tasty Pilsner.

This place was on my list of restaurants I had to try before leaving Helena for my next job. I'm super glad I stopped in. My waitress is a school RN by day and food expert by night (I'm sorry I forgot your name). Her suggestions for both my beer and appetizer were spot on. I had the crab cakes, Caesar salad and ribeye. While the ribeye was slightly overcooked and the broccolini was a little crunchy, the flavors in all the items were excellent. Thanks for the delicious meal and excellent service Wassweiler. If I ever work in Helena again I'll definitely return.

Steaks are a little bland for the price. But best scallop potatoes I think I have ever had.

This isn't one of those stuffy, velvet-rope wine bars; it's genuinely "New York chic meets Montana," which is the only atmosphere I ever want to be in. The main reason this place is magic? The staff. We had a server who was less of a server and more of a wine wizard. I told them I liked things that were "a little sassy, maybe a bit moody," and they didn't even blink. Instead, they completely crafted the perfect flight of wine flights for us to sample. It was like a personalized, four-course journey for my tastebuds. Every single pour was a winner, and the knowledge they dropped on us was actually interesting and not at all intimidating. I learned more in 30 minutes than I did in a decade of frantically googling "what is terroir?" If you're looking for an amazing wine bar where you can relax, learn something new, and taste truly incredible stuff without feeling like you need a wine degree, this is it. Go for the ambiance, stay for the wine, and definitely let their knowledgeable service steer the ship. They won't steer you wrong. Highly Recommend: Just tell your server to surprise you. It's the best way to do it.

We've been going to Broadwater Hot Springs for years as locals, and one of our favorite winter…read moretraditions is soaking in the tubs, having a beer, and watching football on the outdoor TVs. So naturally, we were excited to go last night for Monday Night Football. Imagine our surprise when we were told that staff are no longer allowed to turn on the outdoor TVs for the game. ‍ Apparently soaking in a hot spring, drinking a beer, and watching football has become too much to ask. The staff was great, the tubs were clean, and the service was good. This isn't a complaint about the employees--it's a complaint about a policy that makes absolutely no sense for a place that has built part of its appeal around exactly this kind of experience. Watching football while soaking and having a beer is literally WHY we go there. If this is the new winter policy, we won't be back this football season. We'll happily take our business somewhere else that still understands the concept of "come in, relax, have a drink, and enjoy the game." After years of going to Broadwater, it's really disappointing to see a policy like this that seems almost tailor-made to drive away regular local customers. Great staff. Clean tubs. Terrible new policy.

A Memorable Taste of Butte's History…read more From the moment we walked into Casasgrandas Steakhouse, the setting felt special. Housed in a rustic copper mining-era building featuring original wood floors and fantastic period decor, the atmosphere effortlessly bridges Butte's rich history with a welcoming, cozy dining environment. The meal kicked off with the included soup and salad courses, both exceptional. The chicken and rice soup was clearly made in-house--wholesome, rich, and comforting. The salad arrived crisp and fresh, topped with crunchy homemade croutons and a bright, zesty citrus poppy seed dressing that was a delightful surprise. For our main courses, we ordered the Top Sirloin with the Shrimp Scampi: * Top Sirloin: Prepared perfectly to order, wonderfully tender, and packed with classic steakhouse flavor. * Shrimp Scampi: The absolute highlight of the evening. It featured five large, succulent prawns swimming in a rich, generous scampi sauce--ideal for dredging the table bread through. The side of pasta in a savory tomato sauce complemented it beautifully. To top off an already fantastic evening, they offered a scoop of huckleberry fudge ice cream for just a dollar. It was the perfect local sweet touch to end on. Overall, Casasgrandas delivered top-tier comfort, incredible value, and a truly memorable dinner. We will definitely be back!
