I'm honestly surprised this place has low ratings--everything I've had here has been excellent. The food is consistently delicious. I do enjoy the Parmesan-crusted option, though I will note that it slightly overpowers the natural flavor of the brisket and sandwich, so that's something to keep in mind when ordering. The service has always been great--staff are friendly, welcoming, and kind every time I come in. The ambiance is simple, but when the food is this good, that's really all you need. I got the Gold Rush and substituted the bacon for their "chutney". The bread was burnt, they charged an extra $1.50 to substitute bacon for the "chutney", their definition of a chutney was adding canned diced tomatoes to it, and their soup dip was broke. By broke I mean it was warm to the point that there was absolutely no consistency. I understand that their mac n cheese and their soup come out of a bag, the bread is the cheapest you can get in town, and they seem to be still surviving somehow as a business. Overall the food was awful. The staff was at least kind to me besides what seemed to be the manager. Overall an awful experience and I will never be coming back. read more

We met friends at Cheddar's and though it was frigid outside, it was cozy in. The sandwiches are made to order and the Brie with apple chutney (sans meat) was grilled and absolutely delicious. I'm giving 3 stars because, unless one wishes to order a drink, water is charged by the bottle. They serve Kirkland bottled water for $1.25, and water, with an order, should be FREE. While this can be a but pricey, it is soooo yummy! I first found them as a food truck at a local event. I almost passed out by because the line was so long. These people knew what was up! I waited in line and have been a fan ever since. When they got a store front I was excited that they had regular hours. I go quite often and they have even more offerings than grilled cheese. The rotating seasonal specials are fun and well thought out. The employees have always been pleasant and helpful with suggestions. read more

Bring your own tortilla I ordered from the website what is clearly pictured to be a Mac and cheese burrito with slices of brisket mixed in. I payed for extra brisket for a total of $11.50. What I got was a small cup of Mac and cheese with tiny chunks of brisket on top. The staff told me they don't make a burrito but have heard other customers say the same thing. I showed them the website on my phone and they agreed it pictures a burrito. They spoke to the manager who was only a few feet away around a wall and he said the picture was of two cups. He wouldn't even acknowledge my presence. I tried to speak to him and he wouldn't even look at me much less the picture I was trying to show him. This is obvious FALSE ADVERTISEMENT to try and make the food look better. The front counter staff was very nice and helpful. The manager was extremely rude with zero customer service skills. I will never go back. Yelp put my review in not recommended category (probably after the business complained) They have since changed the website but not the managers attitude. read more

I had my 1st Mac and Cheese sandwich today. I had the Gold. Rush, cheddar cheese and bacon sandwich, it came with small amount if chips and a 2ounce cup of their tomato soup for dipping. This place is kinda amazing. While the consistency isn't 100%, I'm still giving them 5 stars. Why? Because it's always delicious, the service is always friendly, and they have gluten free bread! I'm a huge fan of the Wayne and their current seasonal special, the jalapeño poppin. You can tell the employees here--all of them--have a lot of heart. Great service! Nice atmosphere. Good menu. Be careful when ordering, there are a variety of ways your food price can become expensive quickly (ie parmesan crust, extra cheese etc..). My only knock on the food was that the reuben wasn't served with rye bread. It's not a reuben without rye bread! Quaint little place. The drink menu is a little small, but you can still find a drink to suit you here. Would be nice to have a few more bread options for the sandwiches. We stopped by this place in Helena. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed. I ordered the classic grilled cheese and was underwhelmed. It wasn't bad, but nothing different from any other grilled cheese which is disappointing considering this is a grilled cheese place. It seems this place offers more in gimmicky stunt sandwiches such as a Mac and Cheese sandwich, as opposed to a quality classic grilled cheese. Fast cheap grilled cheese sandwiches, some with a twist. I had the mac-n-cheese with bacon and more cheese. Yep, mac-n-cheese on the sandwich. My left arm hurt afterwards, but it was a good hurt. Today they were located on Montana Avenue, near Valley Bank, but they move around and are hoping to establish more of a downtown presence.
