What a little gem in Helena! My husband and I stopped here for lunch while driving from Whitefish to West Yellowstone and are so glad we did! It took us a minute to find it - as it is located on a pedestrian only road. It's a counter service restaurant with limited seating - thankfully, on a weekday, it wasn't too busy. I opted for their steak bowl - which was truly so delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and the mix of rice, veggies, and the avocado crema and chimichurri was exceptional. WOW just wow! Driving through on a road trip and was crazy something fresh with protein and soooooo happy we stumbled upon this location. The Hopper is located in a main part of the town with live music and surrounding restaurants. We grabbed a Brazil bowl and a large serving of tots. I asked her for a couple recommendations & decided to go with the Crispy Goat Cheese Salad...I can honestly say it was the BEST salad I've ever had!! It is not full service, you order at the front and then they bring the food to your table Food: i really enjoyed the food here! The goat cheese was to die for, had to order extra balls. Very healthy, and great options. The staff were very friendly and attentive. You order at the cashier and get a table number. Our cashier walked me through all the gluten free options that could be done for items on the menu and was so kind to share what would and would not have cross contamination. The food itself was really flavorful and I will for sure be on the lookout for the hot sauce! As we left we were thanked and told to come back again. Came here after they first opened and had an excellent hamburger and just came back and had the house salad with the lentils crunchers which made the salad perfect,(nice unexpected surprise). The Ruben was to die for, but I recommend ordering that on a Friday because that's when the bakery they use bakes their rye bread. Lastly we had the Montana cheesesteak, presented on a parmesan hoagie with some of the most tender sliced steak I've had and the sweetest peppers and great beer cheese, not "wiz". The Hopper has been open a few months and I've been wanting to head down for lunch one day. I went on a Wednesday about 12:40 and ordered the Brazil Bowl to eat in, which sounded good. Most of the tables were taken so I snagged a seat the counter towards the restaurant entrance. My lunch took about 20 minutes or so to make and arrived warm.
