I've been going to Jade dragon since Gourmet Kitchen closed and it hits every time. Still, 9 years later, consistently the best! I ordered the tofu with vegetables and white rice. It was incredible! Jade Dragon is timely, does not make mistakes on your order, and is consistent. The food quality itself is very basic. I ordered cashew chicken and would have expected a bold base with garlic and maybe some butter? The chicken was definitely cooked with care and not over cooked like many places. Wonton soup had no complaints. Big, thick, and delicious won tons to feed a broken heart. Not that bad of a place. Got General Tso and my son got the Terriaki Pork. He loved his, and mine had some spice, which has been unusual around Akron, and a pleasure. General Tso should be spicy. The fried rice smelled like a dirty hamster cage and tasted like the burnt stuff you scrape off a pan you forgot to wash last week. At this point we stopped eating. I was in luck and able to order dinner for the family. They are the only delivery that has General Tso's Shrimp. It's always perfectly cooked and has just the right touch of spice. Just got back from a long road trip and was desperately searching for a Chinese restaurant that was open during the COVID-19 pandemic at ~9:30PM. Was SO. HAPPY to get an answer from Jade Dragon! The person who answered the phone was polite and kind. The same goes for the kind man who answered the door. He made sure I was taken care of and that I had everything I needed. I don't know if it's just me, or I just have the worst luck trying to get jade dragon delivered to me it's my favorite Chinese place and I just had eye surgery so I can't drive. About a month ago I decided I'd order and when I order it's very expensive because I get the extras plus I Buy for my family. It's a real treat. Something that's not usually my budget. So last time about a month ago, I ordered it went to the wrong house last night. I tried again and I had everything off in my house so I could hear anyone knock or come and I had my phone on mute volume up, thinking if something is wrong, I need help they call me. I waited a long time because I was patient think they was backed up or whatever I called Jade Dragon and they said they can't help me because it's the third party. They said they picked it up but once again no delivery here no one knocked on my door. No one called me. I called Jade dragon they can't help me. I hate calling yelp I hate calling anybody I don't call people and complain even usually when there's something wrong, but when you don't get a meal at all. And I was looking to pay for something for a service charge five dollars for delivery charge and five dollars for a tip says $15 before you even get into the food and then I looked at the menu and on yelp eggrolls are 1$ more to their menu and 1.50$ on jade dragon menu. Two dollars extra for meals. So I pay all this extra and I still don't get the food again. Second time I have tried. I know it's not Jade Dragon fault. Except for I can't be the only person that they're getting wrong anyways is in a review about the food because I know their food is excellent. It's a review on the delivery because I've tried twice and have gotten no food twice now I have to go deal with them and I don't remember and I can't see well and it's not gonna be fun. From some drivers who can't even read english when you give directions to get to your location on the order, to orders taking from 30 minutes to up to 2 1/2 hours to get to you even when only a little over a mile away. If the order is wrong, they refuse to give a refund to a credit card. They demand to just give you a discount on a future order. Very poorly run business but excellent food. Plus they now charge not only a $2.50 delivery charge but also a .75 cent order charge on the web page! what is that for? I have ordered from this place for over 3 years and it is only getting worse not better lately. They need new owners who understand who to hire and who not to, and more help for busy times. Ordered delivery when visiting a friend's home, the delivery speed was much quicker than quoted on the website. The chicken lo mein and shrimp lo mein were delicious (the noodles were fantastic). The eggroll was okay, but seemed to be entirely cabbage. The boneless ribs tasted good, but would be better on a bed of rice (and their rice had a good taste to it as well). Ordered this ten minutes before closing on DoorDash to be delivered. I was surprised and pleased when they didn't cancel the order, and still came earlier than expected. The menu is very broad and has a lot of my favorites. I got the bourbon chicken, general gso's, and lo mein. I actually liked the containers they put the food in, because it was plastic and the lids held on very well. Each meal was plentiful for one or two people. The food had plenty of flavor, and the sauce on the chicken was very thick. Would not recommend if you are trying to eat light. Needless to say was belittled by a gentleman saying it was in the box to look at the bottom of the box. This place used to be great, but over time service and food quality has been slipping. When my wife got food poisoning back in February should have been a sign but we could not specifically blame Jade dragon as we were not sure. Fast forward to today where we placed an order which they subsequently delivered incorrectly. We called to explain the missing and incorrect items and were first greeted by a young lady who was pleasant enough until we explained the issue... then she felt it necessary to repeatedly try to talk over me and just read what she thought the order should be and tell me I was wrong. After I told her that it was incorrect as we had the order pulled up on the online ordering system, Then a gentleman with a heavy Asian accent got on the phone and proceeded to refer to me as stupid because I just need to check "the bottom of the box" and that he knows that it was included and "I am just trying to pull a fast one"... sorry, my time is worth far more than a few bucks in food, I certainly would not waste it on the phone with a food outlet to get a few bucks in free food. Also one alarming thing is after going back and forth for a couple minutes, he made the statement that "If you did not touch food, I will take.. but you pay for whatever you touch or eat" Does this mean that they could potentially be re-serving food to others which were declined by other orders/deliveries? This could explain the Food poisoning mentioned above. I will be taking my business elsewhere, to establishments which value customer service and correcting mistakes rather than wasting time and ruining credibility as a reputable food service establishment.
