He used…read moreto live just around the block, but now we live in Cuyahoga Falls, and in the 4 years we've been here, I've been pretty disappointed by every place we've tried (except for Sushia Asia Gourmet, which has a great Sichuan menu). Chin's appears to be more Cantonese style; while there is a dining room, it is has apparently been closed since COVID. We had a couple drinks at Frank's Place and placed our order. 15 minutes later, it was hot and ready. My car smelled so good that my mouth was watering. He ordered the Cantonese chicken, which was good but kind of basic. My stir fried chicken and veggies in ginger sauce were better--and the veggies were so fresh and crisp. You may have noticed, but there's a garden behind the restaurant, and they grow a lot of their own produce. The star of the night was the veggie Egg Foo Young, which I'd never tried before. I saw photos of it online and had to try it. Wow. Egg Foo Young: where have you been all my life? I feel like I'm going to have a new food hyperfixation because this was absolutely delicious and fresh, and I've never had anything like it before. It was a very thin, very crispy omelet with veggies folded in, and then it was covered with a flavorful brown gravy. There are so many other things I want to try, and I can confidently say that my partner was right. It was worth the drive, and our food stayed warm even after a pit stop for beer on the way home. Our meal at Chin's was a reminder of just how good Chinese food can be when it's just not chicken nuggets covered in a sweet sauce.

In addition to noodles, the lunch special came with your choice of soup, a spring roll, or 2 crab rangoon. I opted for the crab rangoon. I also ordered 2 dim sum dishes - the shrimp dumplings ($6.50) and snow mountain lava buns ($6.50). The crab rangoon came out first, and they were delicious, hot, and crispy. Then I got the dan dan noodles. The noodles had a bit of a kick, but they weren't overwhelmingly spicy. They had a nice chew, and I slurped them up happily. I just wish there were more noodles lol, but the portions were pretty typical for dan dan noodles at Greater Cleveland restaurants. The dim sum was great. The shrimp dumplings were tender and juicy, and the buns were so fluffy. Be careful eating them though, or you might get hot, delicious egg goo all over your hands, lol. The staff is very no-nonsense. The service was efficient, and I made it in time for my Red Cross appointment. Note - the restrooms are super clean and even smell nice!

The carpeted dining room has booths along the walls and table seating and the buffet station near the order counter. They offer the typical menu found at most standard Chinese restaurants including Lunch Specials ($8.25 in 2024) and Dinner Specials ($10.55 in 2024). I stopped by China Wok for lunch takeout recently. I headed to the counter in the back and ordered the L24 Shrimp Lo Mein Lunch Special ($8.25) served with pork fried rice and egg roll. My order was hot and ready to go in about 6 minutes and I enjoyed my food outside on a sunny day. Served in a round plastic bowl, the lo mein had soft noodles tossed with soy sauce, soft shrimp (cleaned), cabbage, and sprouts. The golden fried rice had a mix of carrots, peas, onions, and small roast pork pieces. The egg roll was filled with shredded cabbage and minced ground pork. The food tasted pretty good and this was enough food to keep me settled for the next few hours before having dinner down in Columbus.

Not your typical Chinese food, menu prices are a little higher, but it is a nicer place than the standard grab and go Chinese fare. I will say their vegetarian section of the menu is a little confusing, as it is labeled "primarily vegetable" and several of the dishes have pork included. That said, after browsing the menu, we settled on the wonton soup, spinach, mushroom & tofu soup, vegetable spring rolls, Noble calamari, and Noble lo mein. The spinach, mushroom & tofu soup was amazing...the standout dish for me for sure. It was light and flavorful and perfect for the chilly NE Ohio evening. My friend enjoyed her wonton soup as well and said it was different than what she expected. I did not care for the calamari but the dipping sauce it came with was good and I really enjoyed the spring rolls. The lo mein noodles were very thin but my friend enjoyed that dish as well. All in all it was a nice evening and I would go back for more soup and to try another dish. Thank you, Noble House!

Overall, the food was pretty enjoyable, but there were a few things that held it back for us. The egg drop soup was very good -- flavorful, comforting, and filling. The sesame chicken tasted good, although the chicken itself was slightly over fried. The egg roll was also extremely fried to the point where it took away from the texture a bit. The Dragon & Phoenix had good flavor, but there was way too much sauce, and I actually had to pour some out to enjoy the dish properly. Overall, it was a decent meal and we did enjoy parts of it, but we're not completely sure if it's somewhere we would order from again.
