We chose this nearby restaurant after a long day of travel without being able to eat. The restaurant specializes in pizza and Italian dishes. I had the spicy penne. The pasta was served in a spicy red sauce. The sauce had some but not a lot of spice. The dish hit the spot after not having much to eat because of travel. The penne was very good. The service was fine. Prices were reasonable. We struck up a conversation with diners at a near by table. They had some recommendations regarding local wineries. I'd recommend this restaurant and would return.

Penne Spicy Sausage

I'm staying at the resort across the street from this restaurant, and after a long day, couldn't face driving anywhere for dinner. I had a sneaking suspicion that something called Jacob's Restaurant tucked into a strip mall would be a bland old fashioned 'family restaurant' affair and the exterior and interior (complete with sunflower table cloth) didn't assuage my concerns. But I'm happy to say I was so wrong. They had a solid wine list, solid service, and really well cooked from scratch pasta. I had the spicy penne and it was delicious. Pasta was perfectly al dente, the sausage nicely spiced though a sludge dense, and the creamy sauce was good enough to swim in. The server was stretched a bit thin, caring for a half dozen tables plus covering the brisk takeout business, but we were still taken care of. What a disguised gem.

Breadsticks

Service was good! Food was just nothing special. We really wanted pizza after a wine tasting, and we were hoping for more of a wood-fired vibe. But we found this place and decided to give it a try. The breadsticks were not very appealing, but they tasted alright. I did not expect them to have cheese on them, but they did and it was fine. Pepperoni pizza was also just fine. Overall, it's not like anything was bad. It just wasn't spectacular. If I'm back in the area, I don't think we will go back.

Gluten free pepperoni pizza with pineapple and mushrooms

Wonderful pizza spot next to the train amusement park. The pizzas are baked perfectly and loaded with a ton of ingredients. They also had gluten free options which made my kids incredibly happy. They are quite busy though so unfortunately they forgot to put pepperoni on my pepperoni pizza... uh... thankfully they easily fixed it and put so a ton on top. If I'm in the area, I'll be back!

I usually wait until my second visit and/or second dish before I give a restaurant a 5th star, but Jacob's gets that 5th star on my first visit! The staff were super attentive even though they were very busy and they were also very friendly. The food was delicious, my wife and I got a large Sonoma Pizza and a mixed green salad to share. Before we even got to the pizza, that was the best green salad I've ever had. Simple, yummy, especially the cucumbers and cherry tomatoes. I am a pizza snob, and with the exception of Mountain Mike's, I can't stand any of the big chains. The Sonoma pizza had the perfect balance of pepperoni, salami, mushrooms, onions and garlic. The restaurant was also impeccably decorated, with a splash of Italy and Sonoma Wine country represented. Every dish they walked by made my mouth water. We definitely be going back again and again, especially when we head out that way for wine tasting.

3rd time dining here and every time has been satisfied with good food a great advice. Today we had a large all meet, lamb gyro with a Greek salad , cheese bread a a pitcher. All of it was good and we would order it all again.

Half Sonoma and ham pineapple

In Sonoma it is not real easy to find a restaurant open on Tuesday or Wednesday. Luckily we found Jacob's. This is a small family business. The service and staff are great. The server recommend wines were very good. We ordered bruschetta 4/5, calamari 5/5, and a pizza half Sonoma 5/5 and half ham and pineapple 5/5. The pizza crust is very good.

Small cheese pizza

Ordered a small cheese pizza First time here, Lacking cheese as the main ingredient, one and a half slices had NO CHEESE And the cheese that was put on was very thin and the taste just isn't there. Needs more cheese and flavor. Cheese tastes weird It doesn't taste very good I wouldn't go back not good pizza at all

I paid $70 bucks for this pizza off DoorDash, I did get a lot of toppings but they put raw tomato on there I did give the dasher a $5 tip but $70 for this is a rip off. Currently cooking the tomato in my oven the adding to my pizza then cooking the undercooked pizza

Penne Chicken

Super great service, amazing food. Server was amazing and very welcoming! Penne Chicken, sauce seemed homemade which was great, it personally for my palette, it needed a little more salt but that was an easy fix. Pepperoni pizza with pineapple was great. My toddler enjoyed it! linguine seafood was great, good size portion with great flavor.

The pepperoni with prosciutto pizza was rich, smoky, and perfectly salty with crispy edges that curled into little pockets of flavor. The dough had that beautiful airy chew with a slightly tangy, fermented taste that made every bite feel authentic and deeply satisfying. The crust was blistered golden and lightly charred with a crisp exterior that gave way to a soft pillowy center. The Margherita pizza was simple in the best possible way. It was fresh, bright, and incredibly balanced. The sauce tasted vibrant and slightly sweet, the mozzarella was creamy and delicate, and the basil added a fragrant finish that tied everything together. The dough again completely stole the show with its light texture, subtle sourdough flavor, and perfectly crisp bottom. The crust was rustic, fluffy, and beautifully caramelized. The ambiance was warm, lively, and inviting, making it easy to relax and enjoy the meal, but the customer service was even better. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish, which made the entire experience feel memorable beyond just the food. Most definitely recommend!!

So crispy and garlicky! And, the kitchen (plus our amazing server Gustavo!!) was kind enough to make a custom pesto cavatelli for me because I didn't want the cavatelli with morel mushrooms! I will be thinking about the texture of this pasta + the pistachio pesto for a long time. They kept the corn pudding of the original dish at the bottom and it was such a good combination of flavors. I got chicken added on top. I got an espresso martini with gin; pretty good, just wished there was a bit more espresso flavor. Probably would order one of their house cocktails instead next time. Lastly we had the stone fruit cobbler with ice cream and a pine nut/pistachio brittle. Unlike any other cobbler I've ever had. Perfection of different textures. Also, we had the duck fat fries on another day; they were delightfully crispy and lightly seasoned with garlic. The ranch it came with was so yummy and definitely dill-forward. I'd definitely come back! Thank you for your hospitality.

However the combination of the thousand Island, sauerkraut, the pastrami and buttered bread just made it so delicious. It was decently meat packed too. The sandwich came with fries which I inhaled the ketchup that they brought me extra. It also came with two types of coleslaw both were delish. They were not overwhelming with dressing. The yellow one was interesting bc I thought it was turmeric but it was slightly sweet. Delish as well. Also ordered their Italian prosecco. I'm into red wine but for some reason perhaps the environment I felt the prosecco would work and it did! It was bubbly refreshing, tasty, and not dry. Their restroom was big and clean. This is one of the best clam chowder we had. It is so creamy but the clam was lacking compared to others. Favor was perfect. They were so considerate that they separated the soup into 2 smaller bowls so we each can have our own. The Wagyu steak burger is good and cooked perfectly pink for medium. The Rachel pastrami sandwich was just average due to the quality and portions of the meat. It is not bad but we were expecting it to be better. Value is average for the quality and portion.

In 1959, family matriarch Mary Fazio opened up a "shack" serving up Italian homemade comfort food. That shack was in nearby Boyes Hot Springs. The shack is long gone and the family still runs their local restaurants. I'm no stranger to Mary's Pizza. Been dining at their various locations for over 20 years. My go to faves are the pizza and Mary's house salad. But I've never had anything I didn't like from them. The pizza when baked right has a crust with a nice chew and perfect combination of crisp exterior and soft interior. They use quality ingredients. I like that they use the traditional pepperoni with natural casing, it curls up into little cups when baked. Taste all so good. Mmm. Terrific, classic cheese stretch. Pizza sauce is housemade, as is the Sonoma salad dressing. I order that dressing with the signature salad which is another fave of mine. The late weekday afternoon I dropped in, our waiter was enthusiastic and engaging. But possibly due to staffing levels, he forgot to provide plates for the pizza he dropped off and the other items we requested (napkins, refills, the check). We asked the waiter that was assigned to the neighboring tables. Our waiter was covering other tables on the opposite side of the restaurant along with our table.

Both of us liked the scallops and the relish, it was perfectly executed and delicious. We had high hopes for the mussels unfortunately it was a let down. While the broth was flavorful, most of the mussels were tiny. Hubby even got several bites with sand and had to go to the bathroom to rinse it out. We mentioned to our waitress, the manager came over to apologize and our dessert was comped. Which was a good gesture. We did also have nice chats with a family of four sitting next to us. Not sure if we'll return any time soon, if we do will stay away from the mussels.
