Sadly a victim of Jacob's work. If you are thinking about entrusting Jacob with your home construction I URGE you to look elsewhere. Year after year I am faced with trouble on the work I entrusted Jacob and his team to do. There are so many things wrong with his work and the way he runs business. He also has POOR quality control. The people he hires to do the work disregard detail. Each year something new pops up for me to fix and it's super frustrating. Had him do new kitchen cabinets and not only did the man who set them up for us didn't show up multiple times he also lacked detail which resulted in me asking him several times to fix everything. He also used micky mouse solutions to fix it which again.. had me confront him about it. Now I am noticing the job was done even more shoddy than micky mouse solution because I have a rat problem now. His guy did not seal the kitchen cabinets correctly leaving holes for mice and rat to crawl through. I STRESS that you should look for someone else because Jacob's business is the typical kind of construction practice with no integrity. They take your money and leave you with a pile of problems to fix. read more

n November 2025, I decided that my 60 ft. redwood fence had to be replaced. Approximately 40 years old, it had been aging with grace until the last few years. The wood was severely damaged by wood beetles, storms, wind, rain and overall decaying wood. I spoke with a representative from Jacob Construction who confirmed that they do specialize in this type of project. I booked an appointment for a free assessment. I previously sought out other companies who gave me extremely high estimates of what a fence of this size would cost using redwood. One estimate as hight as 28k. Arriving on time was a professional gentleman, Leo, who understood my need for a new fence and the best way to begin this project. We spoke at length and I had some pleasant surprises. Leo was quick to assess the safety factors and the practicality of a certain type of fence. Above all, he had different resources for my situation, for keeping the fence at a reasonable price. This company really knows their business! THEY ARE WONDERFUL TO WORK WITH! I live in a house that was built in 1950 and was partially rebuilt after an electrical fire in 2017. After assessing the status of my home, they proceeded to ask me more about the foundation considering the year the home was built. The foundation, crawl space and sub-floor was in tact after the fire, but in all those years the original foundation had never been updated. I live on the coast, south of San Francisco, California and earthquake concerns are very real. Leo was able to offer me a free inspection, considering the possible hazard risks, I agreed and the inspection definitely was a blessing. After viewing photos of a crack and the lack of supports to the existing structure, a retrofitting was definitely needed as a preventative measure. Leo and Joseph met with me and explained all the details, answered all of my questions. We reached an agreement and the work was completed and passed a city inspection. They assessed my home with the goal of making it as safe as possible and preventing further very expensive mishaps. I appreciated their approach which undoubtedly would have cost me more than I can imagine. I have a policy with the California Earthquake Authority. I am now able to activate a reduced annual cost due to proactive repair against possible damage. I have rental properties and am quite aware of the need to hire construction people you can trust. I would not hesitate to hire Jacob Construction again. To be explicit, Leo, as Project Manager and Joseph as V.P. completed a superb project in every way. The crews were real pros. They were detail oriented and timely. They kept a clean, organized, professional work site. The overall workmanship was excellent. This includes the retrofitting project as well. But what can I say...I am super excited and so happy with my new bathroom. Jacob was our general contractor who handled a full home remodel. Overall, we had a positive experience with the entire process. First, our project showed high quality of work. Jacob sources strong vendors and also checks on his own to ensure tasks are completed and quality is good. Some of the most minute details are well thought out. Next, Jacob is very approachable and easy to talk to. Planning specific items and tasks was always a great experience as Jacob was attentive and open to feedback and collaboration. We did hit some roadblocks along the way but we based this review on Jacob's role as a general contractor and his ability to overcome these obstacles. There were instances where we saw that some of the vendors were not treating our home with an acceptable level of cleanliness and respect. After talking to Jacob, we saw that there was improvement in this respect almost immediately. We know that there are factors outside of Jacob's control and appreciated that he apologized on the team's behalf and quickly set forth to rectify. Separately, we faced a situation where we were having trouble getting in contact with Jacob during a critical part of the project. After a quick chat, Jacob was quick to adjust and went above and beyond to ensure communication and timing was followed through well. In terms of cost, while the construction market is very expensive now given COVID, Jacob's price was within fair competitive range. This company uses a robo dialer to call you constantly. No matter how many times I asked them to stop calling me they would not. They thought that I was another person at another address. I don't even live in Los Angeles. I finally talked to Jacob about it and he called me many names and challenged me to a fight. After I started to leave reviews, they continued to call to ask me to remove them. I'm on the federal do not call list so it's illegal for them to call in the first place.
