They replaced, repaired and painted three floors of wood walls and ceilings; resealed my balcony and refreshed its railing; repaired my screen door; and completed other tasks that required coordination with a variety of experts, like updating some roof sections and adding new gutters and skylights. A few points about the overall experience: - Mel and his team stuck with the job even as the amount of work stretched far beyond initial estimates. He committed to my 100% satisfaction and did not stop until everything subpar was brought up to his high standards. This house has never been so well sealed. - Mel communicated more quickly and completely than any construction professional I've ever worked with. Starting from the review of the initial contract and through the removal of the portapotty at the end of the job, I always knew exactly what was happening and why. - I am not a professional contractor but my bestie's husband is. I had him review the work and he had no notes. - Access to my rear facade is awkward. His crew made the extra effort to traverse the hard to navigate easement behind my property. What a slog every day for months. Mel and his team are the epitome of conscientiousness and are truly nice people.

So, just know that any job can (and probably will) cost lots more. This isn't their fault, just how these jobs go. They did a good job uncovering all of the damage and carefully repaired everything. I am very pleased with the work that they did for me. They were very knowledgeable about what they were doing. I have had some remodeling experience, so when they explained things, my construction knowledge told me they were knowing what they were taking about. What I didn't know, they were more than happy to take time and explain it to me. I especially liked how they cleaned up the job site every day. I would recom them highly. Good job guys!

The other contractor we…read morewere going to work with gave us a funny feeling and we decided to give Edwin a call back to see if he was still interested in the project. When I reached out to him again, he immediately stopped by to talk about our goals and vision for the repairs and overall look. He gave me a very competitive updated quote, and generally put me and my husband at ease about the project. We really felt like it was collaboration where we were able to go back and forth with ideas. Edwin and his crew were always making great suggestions to help things look their best and be the most functional. I wanted to do some of the painting and finishing work myself (trying to be handy/creative) and got several great tips from Edwin and his crew. Almost every passerby who we have encountered has described our home as "GORGEOUS", "BEAUTIFUL",…read more"STUNNING," and what they are seeing is the re-stucco work so skillfully done by the specialized teams at One Stop Plastering. I am writing this review on behalf of my wife and myself out of gratitude to Ken and his team of skilled craftsmen for the most amazing transformation of our 80-year-old Mediterranean-style home. We reached out to One Stop and a couple of other companies, but it was Ken at One Stop who returned our call right away and showed up the next day to look at our home. His immediate response set the precedent that One Stop would treat their residential customers as importantly as they would their commercial customers. First off, every team that came to work on our home each day came as scheduled and always showed up early to start work on time. Jorge, the foreman, was always available, either on site or via text, to answer some of our questions. It was great to have someone explain the process to us so that we could understand the work that was taking place. At the end of each work day, the crew would clean up and arrange scaffolding planks so that we were able access the doorways/garage with ease. The first crew came to set up scaffolding all around our home. Then the work began where they power washed and chipped away at the old, peeling paint, which was captured by the canvassing they laid all around the house. Next was the base coat and mesh application, which was applied so evenly and with care throughout the entire exterior of the house. All the damages and flaws that were there before disappeared. We were a bit late in getting a painter to do all the trim work, but Ken was so accommodating and paused work on our home so the painters we hired could do their work. Soon after, a team of craftsmen returned to our home to apply the color-coating in a manner that replicated the color and texture of one of the samples that was made up for us in the beginning. After all the major work was done, Jorge came and did a walkthrough with us and sent in a team to tie up all the tiny details. The cumulative talent of the One Stop craftsmen is most impressive. I mean, these guys repaired our retaining wall, which was hit by cars multiple times because our driveway is so narrow. They even brought someone on-site who could weld! Nothing seemed impossible with this company. I could go on and on about the phenomenal job these guys did on our home. Look no further, I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to re-stucco their home. My wife and I are extremely happy with our "new" home and cannot wait to surprise our family members when they come to visit. Thank you, Ken, Jorge, and every single hardworking and skilled team member who came to work on our home with precision and plenty of care. We appreciate you all! Sherri and Dolores

This is a review of the customer service not the work. I requested an estimate from One Stop and…read morewas immediately told my job was too small. The reason this is disappointing is because I requested an estimate for a fireplace. The list of services clearly includes fireplaces. If they only work on fireplace jobs of a certain dollar amount that should be stated, so people don't waste time sending detailed info and pictures. I gave 2 stars because at least I got the response back instead of being ignored.

**UPDATE: I can no longer recommend SF Remodel under any circumstances.**…read more My original review was largely positive. SF Remodel converted part of my garage into a pantry and bathroom, and I was pleased with the finished space. Their employees did good work, and I found the company pleasant and accommodating. Despite significant scheduling problems and some questionable subcontractor work, I gave them a favorable review and said I would hire them again. I would not make that mistake today. The project took far longer than expected, largely because there appeared to be no project management. There were also some remarkable construction mishaps. They installed flooring over a level surface and somehow ended up with a noticeably sloping floor. Their first attempt to correct it with self-leveling concrete made matters worse. Their next attempt, involving a concrete grinder, got the floor reasonably close to level but left the surrounding area covered in fine dust. Still, I was willing to overlook these problems. The finished space was attractive, and I believed the company had acted in good faith. The real trouble began after the project was completed. SF Remodel never installed a garage door that was included in our contract. We agreed that I would hire someone else to do the work and deduct that expense from my final payment. I did exactly that. Months later, SF Remodel contacted me claiming I still owed them the final payment. I explained the garage door arrangement, and we resolved the matter. Then they contacted me again with the same claim. Once again, I explained the arrangement, and once again, the matter appeared to be resolved. Now, more than a year later, they're demanding the same payment for a third time. This time, they escalated to written threats of placing a mechanic's lien on my home. I again provided proof of payment and explained the garage door deduction. Saul, one of the company's partners, called me and, during the conversation, threatened to come to my house and "destroy my sh*t, motherf*cker." Yes. An owner of a remodeling company threatening to come to a former customer's home and destroy his property over a payment dispute that had already been addressed twice. I have since provided the payment documentation yet again. As of this writing, I have received no response resolving the matter. I want to be fair to the people who actually performed the construction. Their in-house crew did good work, and I remain pleased with much of the finished project. But good craftsmanship cannot compensate for disorganized project management, repeated billing demands, threats against a customer's home, and abusive language. **My original review said I would hire SF Remodel again. I now regret having written that.** A remodeling project requires you to trust a company with your home, your money, and your peace of mind. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend placing any of those things in SF Remodel's hands.

This involved tearing down stucco on two floors, replacing the damaged wood, installing new windows, adding insulation, and generally rebuilding the front side of my home to code. Jose was helpful every step of the way. The estimate was fair and the project did not stray from the original estimate. They passed every inspection without any issues and were clearly familiar with the permitting process in SF. They proactively identified issues with my new roof installation and replacement windows. Addressing these issues delayed the project, but ensured that the work they were doing wouldn't be compromised. There was also an area of damage that was not identifiable until the walls were torn down. Luckily, Jose had warned me ahead of time that this was possible, and the change order was reasonable. All the workers were respectful when entering my home and knowledgable in their craft. I asked many questions along the way and they took the time to help address any concerns I had. Thank you to Johnny and Zen who handled the carpentry work and Mariano and Benjamin who handled the painting! I would not hesitate to hire them again and highly recommend them to anyone considering a similar project.
