This is a review of the customer service not the work. I requested an estimate from One Stop and was immediately told my job was too small. The reason this is disappointing is because I requested an estimate for a fireplace. The list of services clearly includes fireplaces. If they only work on fireplace jobs of a certain dollar amount that should be stated, so people don't waste time sending detailed info and pictures. I gave 2 stars because at least I got the response back instead of being ignored. read more

We started with a good sized window replacement project and received a good price from Ken. They started on time and found dry rot on the first windows to be replaced. The dry rot proved to be more extensive! Ken helped us get a structural engineer involved and got the necessary permit approved and provided the carpenters and crew necessary to keep the project going. Almost every passerby who we have encountered has described our home as "GORGEOUS", "BEAUTIFUL", "STUNNING," and what they are seeing is the re-stucco work so skillfully done by the specialized teams at One Stop Plastering. I am writing this review on behalf of my wife and myself out of gratitude to Ken and his team of skilled craftsmen for the most amazing transformation of our 80-year-old Mediterranean-style home. We reached out to One Stop and a couple of other companies, but it was Ken at One Stop who returned our call right away and showed up the next day to look at our home. His immediate response set the precedent that One Stop would treat their residential customers as importantly as they would their commercial customers. First off, every team that came to work on our home each day came as scheduled and always showed up early to start work on time. Jorge, the foreman, was always available, either on site or via text, to answer some of our questions. It was great to have someone explain the process to us so that we could understand the work that was taking place. At the end of each work day, the crew would clean up and arrange scaffolding planks so that we were able access the doorways/garage with ease. The first crew came to set up scaffolding all around our home. Then the work began where they power washed and chipped away at the old, peeling paint, which was captured by the canvassing they laid all around the house. Next was the base coat and mesh application, which was applied so evenly and with care throughout the entire exterior of the house. All the damages and flaws that were there before disappeared. We were a bit late in getting a painter to do all the trim work, but Ken was so accommodating and paused work on our home so the painters we hired could do their work. Soon after, a team of craftsmen returned to our home to apply the color-coating in a manner that replicated the color and texture of one of the samples that was made up for us in the beginning. After all the major work was done, Jorge came and did a walkthrough with us and sent in a team to tie up all the tiny details. The cumulative talent of the One Stop craftsmen is most impressive. I mean, these guys repaired our retaining wall, which was hit by cars multiple times because our driveway is so narrow. They even brought someone on-site who could weld! Nothing seemed impossible with this company. I could go on and on about the phenomenal job these guys did on our home. Look no further, I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to re-stucco their home. My wife and I are extremely happy with our "new" home and cannot wait to surprise our family members when they come to visit. Hands down the most responsive, fast, helpful and cool contractor I have ever worked with. We hired Ken and his team to stucco our house. They did the demo, sheer wall, reframing (where needed) and stucco on our house. They replaced our windows and doors. There was an enormous amount of trouble shooting necessary due to some previous remodeling, and Ken took it all in stride. He is a creative quick thinker and does excellent work. We asked him to stay on and pour our staircase, install IPE pop-out and handle a bunch of other smaller projects. He was always available to talk and answer my questions. And he was 100% drama-free. No surprises. He absolutely exceeded our expectations in every area of the remodel. His prices were more than fair. He went above and beyond. I cannot recommend him highly enough. This review is similar to one posted specifically on the customer service and not the work. We requested a quote for stucco on an RV Garage/Concrete Bunker and the work was estimated at $8,900. The owner Ken came back and indicated that his estimator quoted us wrong and requoted us at $22,500!! Additionally, taking the can of paint to be used/sampled from. I reached out to 3 other contractors and they quoted: $7,800 , 9,950 , and $14,350 (pending one more quote). But it looks to me that the original requested quote was in the ball park of the other contractors. Moving forward to the last week, I tried to contact Ken to retrieve the can of paint. I called and left him a message on Friday, June 25th and had no response. Yesterday, June 30th since I was in the area decided to just stop by the "office" on Paloma St to find out that it is a "home office." So noticing that, I parked out front and called the number on the quote. A nice lady answered and said that this is the home office and that Ken was not there and to call his cell. I told her I did on Friday and he did not return my call. She said if he doesn't answer to send a text. I called and left another voicemail and then I sent a text and received a reply within 15 minutes stating: "The lab threw it away after they used it I told him not to but they threw it away so sorry." Well, based on the arrogance the owner of the RV garage received from him, the sound of Ken's voice on the voicemail, the lack of response and communication, and the unprofessionalism - We are not surprised that his company "used and threw away" our can of paint. Seems like these are terrific reviews. I had about a two minute conversation with Ken today about sealing some cracks in the exterior of my home. He informed me that "everyone wants to have their cracks sealed and don't want to pay for it." He says that the only way they do repair is if they are working on the "entire elevation". When I asked if they do sealing of cracks, he might have been better served to simply say no. We don't. But the good news is through Nicholson builders I was referred to Frank E Connell and sons. I'm a real estate developer and my family has been in construction for over 30 years, and I needed to find a reliable company to handle the stucco work on our jobs. I tried several other companies, and wasn't thrilled with them. Our jobs range from old houses, where we have to match existing stucco, to some new larger construction developments, so it was important to get someone who could handle the whole process. Foggs Lath & Plaster aka One Stop Plaster just finished a job for us. We had a leak in our upstairs shower drain. The only way to get to the pipe was either tear out the tile shower flowering or open up the cracked water stained plaster and lath dining room ceiling. Neither option sounded good. Ken and his crew came and took care of our problem and in fact came up with a less expensive solution. Instead of fixing the plaster lath (which always cracks) they replaced the ceiling with drywall. They had a very experienced installer do the job, it was done promptly, and they communicated well and cleaned up as they departed. So I didn't have any plastering work done by One Stop Plastering but I wanted to give a review on our phone conversation. I called to get a bid on my small 1200 square foot house to go from T-111(with no damage or dry rot) to stucco. I asked him if he could come out and give me a bid and he said give me your address and I'll just look it up on Google. When your planning on spending a significant amount on a large project you hope they will come in person to give you a bid, but anyway he looked at my house on the computer and said ok that will be 35K. I was in shock,I said that seems very high I was thinking half that amount and he said "I've been doing this a long time I know what it cost". I said ok thanks hung up and got 3 more bids for the job and just wanted to share what my other bids came in at just so you hopefully do your homework before going with this company. These were my other bids $21k,$19k,$15k and $13,500K. I knew right away he was way overpriced and seemed like he wasn't interested in the job hence why his bid was so high and he didn't want to come in person to look at the job.I hired one of the other companies from Yelp who actually took the time to come out take measurements and answered all my questions and actually wanted the job.Thank god for Yelp. read more

In 25 years on this property, I have never had such a professional, efficient, thorough crew work on my property. Every day the crew explained what they were doing and why, or asked me what I wanted. Every day they thoroughly cleaned up, respecting that we LIVE here despite the construction. George and/or Ken both were on site virtually every day until the project was complete to oversee the crew. What impressed me beyond the quality of the work was the pride and compradore of the crew. I have used One Stop Plastering twice in August 2014 to perform stucco resurface work. This project entailed the resurfacing of 2,250 square feet of carport area at a six unit apartment building. The ceiling and walls of the carport had been opened for plumbing and structural repairs in the past and the patch over did not blend well. Ken and his crew performed exceptionally well. The area was power washed and then an adhesive cement based compound was skim applied to level the surface. The next day the crew applied the finish coat using an acrylic-stucco mixed compound. The job took three days. The crew left the site clean every night for the tenants. The work resulted in a uniform look on all surfaces. Even the painting contractors commented on how well the resurfacing was performed. I could not be happier with the quality of workmanship and the interpersonal interactions by Ken and his crew. Being detailed oriented I asked many questions during the progress of the work and everyone was very patient and pleasant to answer them. This positive experience applies as well to an earlier project in August. That excellent experience convinced me to entrust them with the apartment project.
