Mike patiently worked around rainy weather and was unfailingly knowledgeable, patient, and polite. I would hire him again without hesitation for any such work.

The first time they finished the work, water was still pooling on the deck with some light rain. I complained, and they sent some folks over to redo the work. This second time they left the place pretty dirty, with painters tape half covered in waterproofing material which is still nearly impossible for me to remove. But the kicker? The work itself is still subpar. There's no primer under the paint they used on the door from the deck so it's peeling off. The water still leaks into the room below and I had to have someone else come and take a look at it. The edges of the work particularly where the deck meets the house were very poorly done. I'm disappointed that not only did they have to do the job twice, but the second time they left things so dirty, tape literally painted on, and never checked in or even had someone confirm with me the work was done. Having someone else come by has highlighted just how poorly this was handled. I wouldn't ever go back to these guys.

In short, CFY was communicative, accommodating, and proactive about clarifying the additional work. They sent before and after photos. I hope to not need roof work in the future, but if I do, I will definitely reach out to CFY first.

This involved shoring the house, pouring all new foundation and retaining walls, and expanding the walls and framing. Overall, Mick (owner) and his team's work was thorough and detailed, and I would recommend him to other home owners, and consider him for my next project. 1) Mick (the owner) was the most thorough in bidding compared to other contractors. He came to the house multiple times, brought subcontractors to look at the job, and ultimately gave an estimate that was competitive and had my confidence. 2) Mick was one of the safest and most punctual contractors I have met. The work would start at the exact time every day, the work site would be thoroughly cleaned each day, and there would be high emphasis on safety (hard hats, signage, etc) 3) Mick had to communicate with an architect, three engineers, and a variety of subcontractors and he handled that very well. He was always a step ahead in seeing upcoming problems to resolve. 4) Mick was at the job site and worked with others himself each day! This raised the quality and made sure the work stayed on track. 5) the work finished on time, as previously estimated, despite the fact that the work was done during the rainy winter. 6) Most importantly, the end result was great, all inspections passed on the first try, and other contractors and subcontractors that visited the site were impressed. I called and also submitted a request through their website, and someone quickly followed up to schedule an estimate. Stephen arrived right on time -- actually a little earlier than the scheduled window -- and the quoting process was straightforward. I received the estimate later that same day, and their pricing was very fair and significantly better than several other quotes I had received. I approved everything online, and shortly afterward they called to schedule the work within the next couple of weeks. What impressed me just as much as the pricing was their communication and attention to detail. We had literally finished painting the exterior of our house only 4 days before the fence work, so I reached out ahead of time and asked them to take extra care around the freshly painted stucco. They responded immediately, noted it on the job, and when the crew arrived, they already knew about my concern. That kind of communication between the office and field crew gave me a lot of confidence! The crew replaced 3 gates, repaired the top of another gate, and repaired a section of fencing, all in about 4 hours. The difference is incredible. The new gates feel heavy, sturdy, and very well built, and the hinges and latches are a huge upgrade from what we had before. One detail especially impressed me: they even adjusted the bottom of our front gate -- something that wasn't part of the original scope -- to give it better clearance from the ground. Now the gate opens much wider and makes it so much easier for us to move our recycling bins in and out. It was a small detail, but exactly the kind of thing that shows they weren't just checking boxes on a work order. They paid attention to how we actually use the gate and made it better. And yes -- my freshly painted wall came through completely intact. No scratches, chips, or damage whatsoever. From the initial estimate to scheduling, communication, workmanship, and those thoughtful finishing touches, I had a great experience with Marsh Fence & Deck. The finished product looks so much better, and everything feels solid and built to last. I can't wait for them to come out again in a couple of weeks and paint/stain the new gates and fence! Roof leaking, windows leaking, wood rot, termite damage. What a mess. Seamus has the skills (and in the case of the roof, the associates) to fix all of these problems. His team chiseled out all of the aged stucco and added new chicken wire, flashing and weep screeds. He removed all the rotten wood and essentially rebuilt the front corner of my house, including a decorative wall that was so leaky that its bones had completely rotted away. Then his team re-applied base stucco and let it cure properly before mixing a beautifully colored finishing coat that was perfectly textured. The house looks amazing now. I had been putting my head in the sand for years, ignoring all the growing cracks in the stucco and knowing that water was soaking the bones of my house. I have peace of mind now. Also, as people note below, Seamus is responsive and a good communicator. So important in a contractor. Thanks Seamus.

Jose was helpful every step of the way. The estimate was fair and the project did not stray from the original estimate. They passed every inspection without any issues and were clearly familiar with the permitting process in SF. They proactively identified issues with my new roof installation and replacement windows. Addressing these issues delayed the project, but ensured that the work they were doing wouldn't be compromised. There was also an area of damage that was not identifiable until the walls were torn down. Luckily, Jose had warned me ahead of time that this was possible, and the change order was reasonable. All the workers were respectful when entering my home and knowledgable in their craft. I asked many questions along the way and they took the time to help address any concerns I had. Thank you to Johnny and Zen who handled the carpentry work and Mariano and Benjamin who handled the painting!
