I was looking for waterproofing services for my concrete stairs over a wood frame with stucco guardrails. This house was built in 1937 and is my childhood home. The stairs had been leaking over the years due to the concrete pulling away from the stucco, causing dry rot. The wood was replaced, and the stairs were painted 6 months ago; they had since started chipping. You could see all the layers of paint. Due to prior leaks, dry rot, and peeling paint, I began researching waterproofing systems. It was not easy to find a company that specializes in concrete stairs with stucco guardrails. I couldn't find any photos of what I had. I started looking around and considered painters, decking companies, and waterproofing companies. Most waterproofing companies specialize in roofing only and declined my request. I then came across Elite Roofing & Waterproofing. They had a photo of the concrete stairs they had done. Alonso contacted me immediately, scheduled an appointment, and arrived on time. He reviewed my stairs, suggested an exceptional waterproofing system, and provided a quote the same day. Some systems can take up to 2 weeks to cure, but the Tremco Vulkem Waterproofing system can be installed in a couple of days due to the chemistry. Juan and his son arrived by 8:30 am each day of the job and were meticulous. The preparation includes covering the area with plastic, removing all paint down to the concrete, repairing cracks as needed, filling all large voids, sealing joints, taping the stucco above each step and landing, and applying primer and sand for grip, base coat, and top coat. Each coat with activator cures in 30-45 minutes, so you need to be highly trained at applying this system. It's literal chemistry. The system protects all joints with the sealer, after which the layers bond and extend from the stucco to the stairs, further protecting them from water intrusion. There are nice colors for the top coat as well. The stairs have an awesome grip with the sand for safety. This gives us peace of mind and protects our precious childhood home. If you have a similar situation or need waterproofing services, call Elite Roofing & Waterproofing!

Fast, solid work, reasonable price, good communication. Team circled back to cover a spot they had missed next day, no hassle. Highly recommend.

No flat metal flashing installed

I almost never leave bad reviews for local businesses, but Alonso brought this on himself. As a project manager, he was sloppy and lazy; as an all-around human being, he was incredibly dishonest and deceitful. We hired Alonso and his crew to replace our tar-and-gravel roof. We went with them in large part due to the good reviews here. In the beginning, Alonso was responsive and pleasant. His crew arrived to the job site on time. Things seemed to be progressing. We were also getting solar installed at the same time, and this required Alonso to coordinate with the solar people. We shared everyone's numbers. Then, midway through the project, Alonso suddenly told us he needed to charge us an extra few thousand dollars because the solar people were dragging their feet and delaying the job. I called the solar people, who told me they'd been calling Alonso's cell every day and he'd never responded. I went back to Alonso, who denied getting any calls. The solar people, in turn, sent me their call logs, which showed that they in fact had been calling him. When presented with this proof, Alonso sort of mumbled, admitted his error, and withdrew his demand. This was, essentially, his form of low-key extortion, but he was too lazy to pull it off. Then the job was "finished"... or rather, his crew left one Friday and never came back. I went up to have a look, and it was clear the job was, at best, only mostly finished. There were large sections where the flat metal flashing did not get installed, and there were parts of the roof not fully covered by gravel, exposing the tar to the direct sun. Moreover, there were splashes of hot tar that had been spilled all over our decks. I realize tar is messy to work with, but I find it strange that no tarps were laid. I took photos and sent them to Alonso. He promised he would pay for the deck cleanup. He sent a guy to install the flashing. But when that guy arrived, he took one look at the rest of the work and said that the workers hadn't properly sealed the edges around the skylights. I brought this to Alonso's attention in November. It is now January. He has been ignoring all of my calls and all of my texts. Calls to his office go unanswered. He hasn't paid us a dollar to repair our decks. I know he's now just ignoring me, because he knows he's screwed up and he's too dishonest of a person to face the consequences. Avoid this business at all costs.

I would recommend Alonso and his team over at Elite Roofing ,and Water proofing . Absolutely the best roofers I have ever used. Alonso came over and gave me a free quote that was Extremely reasonable, and fit my budget seeing Farmers insurance didn't provide any help paying for it ,but after the job Elite did on my roof and in only one day, I can't wait for it to rain again. I will sleep like a baby feeling very confident in my brand new roof ,thanks guys . Great job

reframed the roof, added ridge and o'hagin vents, and new shingles and waterproofed the flat areas

Alonso's team did a great job doing my entire houses roof. Besides the usual plywood and shingles they also reframed the sagging old roof beams, patched up a lot of the siding, added a ton of new vents (ridge and o'hagin), and replaced all of the fascia. It all got painted and I think that I got a very fair price. I'd def recommend them to a friend or internet stranger

They came and fixed it. I wish it would have been easier, simpler to resolve but they did it. So overall pleased with the result.

BAMC just finished encapsulating our crawl space and updating our 2 old pumps. Bill was the one…read morewho came to take a look, and he was fantastic to talk with. Our house had a mish-mash of prior attempts to mitigate water under the house, and I felt good that Bill fully understood the complexities of the existing situation and offered a couple of solid options to deal with it. We did end up choosing the full encapsulation (to just finally be done with the issue) but I did not feel pushed in that direction at all during our conversation. Once we decided, working with Gina in the office and Bill to get the details of the plan finalized was easy, we got our dates locked in, and on the scheduled days Antonio and crew showed up on time and cranked through the job. Everything was finished exactly to the plan Bill had drawn up, including the interface to the existing parts of the system we wanted to keep. And the crawlspace looks incredible - truly a major upgrade to our home. Looking forward to a rainy season finally not worrying about it!

We hired Bay Area Moisture Control to install a sump pump with trenching to address standing water…read moreunder the house. On the positive side, the crew (Antonio) was punctual, easy to work with, and efficient. The whole job took 3.5 hours. The issue came with the placement of the sump pump discharge location. I had talked to their sales lead (Bill) about having the water be discharged to the street where there is a storm drain. Instead, the sump pump "pop up" was placed 8 feet from the front of the house, way too close. Water can flow back under the house, defeating the purpose of the sump pump entirely. When I called Bill during the job to talk about our options, he dismissed our concerns and immediately pointed to the contract, implying that this was our fault because we signed the contract. In reviewing the contract, the design was completely unclear about where the sump pump would exit water. Bill continued to skirt the fact that that we had discussed pumping water to the street, and instead, he baked a different design into the contract with unclear markings. We are dissatisfied with the poor communication, but even more so, the lack of accountability from the company. If you hire this company, just a word of caution to walk through the design with them before signing and make sure you're on the same page about everything. We are going to have to bring someone else out to fix the issue. One more thing ... I was flabbergasted that when talking to Bill on the phone about the iffy sump pump discharge location, Bill was trying to upsell me on encapsulation! Read the room, dude.
