(Also- the hours online and Yelp/Google Maps are different than what's posted on the door.) I decided to see if the door was open in case the sign just wasn't flipped to "open". It was UNLOCKED, and so was the second door! I was able to go INSIDE the cafe, even though it was clearly empty and no one was there...no food in the display case either. I even called out "hello??" a couple times to no response. Why were both doors unlocked if the cafe was clearly closed (even though according to the hours on the door it should be open...)

The first thing I appreciated was, the Owners and staff members. They are genuinely, a very happy group of people. They are super friendly and engaging. I also like the fact you can dine in or even do takeout. Today I decided on takeout.. the serving sizes are very decent, and the prices are more than fair. I strongly recommend checking them out. Breakfast sandwich- choice of bacon or sausage. Really nice satisfying sandwich. I really like the type of roll that was used. Plus the sandwich wasn't greasy or sloppy at all. Breakfast bowl- For me, I was able to share with my wife. The to-go container was pack. Every bite full had meat, cheese potatoes, and eggs. The ingredient ratio was spot on. You didn't have to much of this and not enough of that. Chicken and waffle- breast was moist and seasoned well for my liking. I loved the waffle flavor. Whatever waffle mix they are using. They need to keep using it and never change up.

Nutella and banana crepe 7/10 Had a hair in it (which brings me back to my hair net point above...) Kyle still ate it though. Dulce de leche crepe 9/10 Caramel sauce was really good. Whipped crepe was delicious and perfectly sweet. The walnuts were good, but I would prefer them to be chopped up a little smaller to be more bite sized. The apples were warm, and cooked to a perfect al dente.

I have severe food allergies,…read moreincluding dairy, eggs, and gluten, and the only breakfast I ever get to eat is the one I make for myself at home. I honestly can't remember the last time I was able to order breakfast at a restaurant. While visiting Buffalo with my boyfriend in November 2025, his college friend spent the morning taking us to several restaurants trying to find a place where I could safely eat. After striking out everywhere else, Betty's was our last stop--and what a blessing it was! Alice, our host, was warm, friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure my food allergies were handled safely. I was able to order a bacon, "egg" and avocado sandwich made to accommodate my allergies, and it was incredible. I hadn't enjoyed a breakfast sandwich from a restaurant in over a decade! It was so delicious that I went back again before leaving Buffalo and even ordered another sandwich to take home. For anyone living with food allergies, you know how rare it is to find a restaurant that truly understands safe food preparation while still serving amazing food. I'm from New York City, and I still haven't found a place that compares. 1,000 stars! I can't recommend Betty's highly enough.

The vibe is so right, in fact this restaurant has a personality of its own, which matches its amazing eclectic selection of delicious foods. On beautiful sunny Spring, Summer or Autumn days you can enjoy the neighborhood on the patio or you can always choose to dine in one of their several comfortable dining rooms all of which feature art (Some of which you can purchase ) that will get you leaving your seat for a closer look. We were rewarded with two truly special brunch items ... a layered "French toast" that I stared at as a diner near me ate hers and an orange infused pair of delicious waffles. They were perfect and filling (This ended up as our only meal on this beautiful Sunday.). The quality of service matched the food ... we lingered soaking in the atmosphere just enjoying life at Betty's. When asked by neighbors where we went for brunch we said "Betty's" and they smiled knowingly. Once you're familiar with Betty's you've found a friend.

This appears it was because there is no hostess and the servers are doing it all themselves, so they continued to take orders and bring out items for those already seated before showing us to a table. Once at the table the initial ordering and bringing of the food was fine. We then proceeded to wait an excessive amount of time as our waitress went from table to table checking on everyone else but never even looked our way so we could flag her down to let her know we were ready for the check. Not sure if it was an understaffing issue or what but the service left us disappointed with our experience. The only reason the review is 4 stars is because the food was that good!

A waitress came over with a menu and took my drink order, an easy order - coffee. They gave me plenty of time to decide what I wanted. When I remember my last visit, the customer service was a little lacking but this time, everyone I interacted was incredibly pleasant and very nice! About 10-15 minutes later, my breakfast was brought over with a variety of syrups. For breakfast I went with an old favorite, "Hill" size (three) Cinnamon Roll Homemade Hot Cakes with whipped cream on top! They were nicely sized and made to perfection. I LOVE these pancakes so much that I scarf them down in what feels like two minutes, so I put A LOT of effort into pacing myself and enjoying, savoring them this time. I've been coming here for eight years now and I will say, the prices have gone up but it's not prohibitive and once in a while, you just have to treat yourself.
